Re: Key Word Serch Tool

2018-05-14 Thread 'Luis Xander Talag (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Chris,

My apologies as from the AdWords API perspective, what I can provide is how
to use the TargetingIdeaService

 using
the API. You may refer to this guide

for
details and sample codes. However, if you want to create a web-based
keyword search tool, you'll have to create it on your end.

Thanks and regards,
Luis

Retrieving correct data with CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

2018-05-14 Thread Sune Christiansen
Hi there.

I have some problems with getting correct data with
"CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT".

I'm trying to retrieve the following information:

Through ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT I get the the total amount of each data
point (CTR, conversion rate etc.).

The site I am working on, will have the ability to see the data sorted by
campaigns as well, where CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT comes in the picture.

My query is:

"SELECT Impressions, Clicks, Cost, CostPerAllConversion, AllConversionValue,
AllConversions, AllConversionRate, ConversionValue, AverageCpc,
CostPerConversion, Date
FROM CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
WHERE AdvertisingChannelType = SHOPPING DURING 20180501,20180506"

This does not give me 1 return for each day, but 44-45 returns pr. day.

Do I miss something in my query or can you give me hint which report type
to use, when I want the total values pr. campaign (display, shopping,
search) like in ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT?

Thanks in advance

Re: An issue when compare AdGroup Performance report with Search query Performance report.

2018-05-14 Thread 'Vincent Racaza (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Chenrui,

Yes, the ads can be triggered in different ways, not just keywords or
search terms. The triggering criteria of an ad can be one of these targeting
types
.
So for example, if your ad under an ad group was triggered by location,
then in AdGroup Performance Report, that would be 1 impression, however for
Search Query Performance Report, that would be a 0 impression as the ad was
not triggered by the search term.

Let me know if you have further clarifications.

Thanks,
Vincent

Re: Error with Criteria Performance Report

2018-05-14 Thread Stephen Barrett
I haven't changed any code in the symfony directory. So I'm assuming it's a
php version error. I'm running php 7.0.29. This is the highest I can go for
my website. It was suggested in another thread I am on to download Vendor
again via Composer but with the local machine the same php version of my
webhost. I have done that and the script is running successfully. It's
throwing errors after I have moved it to the new environment.

Re: Adwords Api v201802 - Failed to download reports.

2018-05-14 Thread 'Teja Makani' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello Cagatay,

Based on the error "invalid_client", it seems that the client id mentioned
in properties file is populated incorrectly. Could you also check if the
OAuth2 client Id in properties file is copied exactly as shown in the Google
API Console Credential
 page(no spaces and
no extra characters)? If you haven't changed the values of your OAuth2
credentials in your property file after migration, it should ideally work
with v201802 API version. Please give it a try and let me know if you are
facing any issues.

Hi Stephen.

Without seeing your code I can't comment, but, the code in the gist has
already instantiated the Oauth2TokenBuilder so you wouldn't need to do that
again.

I've written a high-level article about using multiple oauth tokens

+1 on this feature. An AdWords read-only API scope would be hugely

Re: Obtaining AdGroupId

2018-05-14 Thread 'Bharani Cherukuri (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello,

You will be able to generate Keyword ideas based on a number of inputs
.

In your use case, it looks like you're using AdGroup Id to generate the
keyword ideas. If you do not wish to use AdGroup Id, you will be able to
use other inputs listed here
,

to generate ideas.

This said, the screenshot attachment is missing on this thread. You will be
able to create campaigns both from the AdWords API and the UI by specifying
the client account customer ID. Through the API, you may refer to the
AddCampaigns

 code
sample in Java. Code samples in other languages can be found here
. If you're
using UI, you can follow the steps mentioned in this guide
.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Bharani, AdWords API Team

Re: Adwords API support for webhooks - conversion and cost data

2018-05-14 Thread 'Teja Makani' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello Adam,

To clarify your question, are you trying to get near real time stats
specific to conversion data via the AdWords API? If so, please note that
performance data isn’t available instantly in AdWords, and some metrics are
only updated once a day. In most cases, your account statistics (such as
clicks, conversions and impressions) are delayed by less than three hours.
Please check here for
more details on data freshness.

If you are trying to get alerts for certain conditions, you could explore
the option of using the Alerting Framework for AdWords demo application

 which
is an open-source Java framework for large-scale AdWords API alerting. This
is based on the Java AdWords API client library
.

If you have any questions in particular with respect to the API, you could
ask on this thread and we are happy to assist you. However, we will not be
able to comment on any third party applications.

Thanks,
Sai Teja, AdWords API Team.

2018-05-14 Thread Zweitze
Just adding a note to the replies of others:

You can't even get all data from a single report in a single call. Most
reports, probably all, have conflicting fields.
For instance, many reports (eg. CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT has a field
ConversionTypeName and another field Clicks. You cannot use both fields in
a single request.

Hi Vincent,

Thanks for your quick reply!

One more question about this " It is also possible that your ads under your
ad groups were triggered by the actual keywords, location, search terms and
other targeting criteria."
For one ad group in Search Network only, the ads can be triggered by a
pair(this is the search term). Will the ads be
triggered by other ways?

Thanks

Re: Is it possible to pull all AdWords data in one API call?

2018-05-14 Thread Peter Bowen
Hi Elizabeth.

You probably can't get everything you need in one call, but it is possible
to get quite a lot of data from a single report. For instance, you can use
get most of an account's structure (campaigns, ad groups, ads etc) from the
ad performance report by selecting those fields in the report definition.

There are some downsides to this approach though - you might need fewer
calls to the API to get the data, but processing huuge reports can take
some time. I'm currently working on a project where we're assembling the
account structure locally from a big report, and it takes about 10 minutes
of processing time per account.

Re: Using dynamic customerId

2018-05-14 Thread Peter Bowen
Hi Stephen.

In PHP you can pass the client customer id in using the withClientId()
method in OAuth2TokenBuilder.php

You can also pass in the OAuth2 refresh token in a similar if you're making
the call using the client's credentials rather than your manager account's
credentials.

I'm guessing there is a similar way to do it if you're using one of the
other libraries.

Re: An issue when compare AdGroup Performance report with Search query Performance report.

2018-05-14 Thread 'Vincent Racaza (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Chenrui,

You cannot aggregate the result of the Search Query Performance Report and
compare it with the result with the AdGroup Performance Report. This is
because the metrics from the AdGroup Performance Report are triggered from
different criteria types. It does not mean that the metrics from your ad
groups in the AdGroup Performance Report comes from your search terms only.
It is also possible that your ads under your ad groups were triggered by
the actual keywords, location, search terms and other targeting criteria.
So this is already an accumulated statistics from different targeting
criteria. Just on this scenario alone, you cannot compare the returned
values of both report types.

Also, since API only mirrors the AdWords UI, then both have the same values
at the same time. However, if you can observe the discrepancies between the
AdWords UI and API reports, then just let me know so I can further check.

Thanks,
Vincent

Re: An issue when compare AdGroup Performance report with Search query Performance report.

2018-05-14 Thread chenrui zhang
Hi Vincent,

I notice that Search Query Performance Report has one column "AdGroupId".
Then I group the data by AdGroupId to get the total click/cost of each ad
group.
But the number is inconsistent with the number in the AdGroup Performance
report on the same segmentation.

For one ad group A, I assume that the performance comes from the search
terms which triggered the related ads under A actually. Is it right?
