KeyError when using mutate method FeedItemService

2019-05-17 Thread 'Ketan Ingle' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
I have an ad customizer feed setup in my account and I want to change the
value of one Item in that feed. I tried doing that using the "SET"
operation in the 'FeedItemService'

PFA code:

fi_service = adwords_client.GetService('FeedItemService', version = 'v201809')

fi_operator = {
'feedId': 1234,
'feedItemId': 5678,
'attributeValues': [
{
 'feedAttributeId':111,
 'stringValue': '1000'}

]
}
fi_creator_operation = {'operator': 'SET',
'operand': fi_operator}
fi_call_response = fi_service.mutate(feed_creator_operation)

Here is the traceback of the error:

Problem re-uploading an ImageAsset

2019-05-17 Thread Andre Tannus
Hi all, I'm posting this for the second time since the previous post seems
to have vanished into oblivion. Apologies if it turns up.

I am having issues with re-uploading a previously REMOVED Asset.

I understand that in general you cannot mutate objects that have been set
to REMOVED.

I also noticed that when I ImageAsset with previously existing image data,
the API recognizes it returns the exact same Asset from the first upload.

Now, suppose have done the following:

   1. Uploaded a new ImageAsset, and got back an AssetId.
   2. Mutated that ImageAsset setting its AssetStatus to REMOVED.

And suppose I now wish to re-upload that image (say I removed it by
mistake).

The first thing I trued was to mutate the Asset and SET AssetStatus to
ENABLED, which naturally failed, although with an uninformative error
message: UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR

Next, I tried to simply re-upload the image. The API accepted it, but
returned the AssetId of the previously uploaded file, with AssetStatus set
to REMOVED.

Finally I tried to upload the image with a new AssetName, and here is where
I got a funny error message, telling me to remove the existing asset before
I can rename it.

Google\AdsApi\AdWords\v201809\cm\ApiException [ 0 ]:
[AssetError{super=AssetError.CANNOT_MODIFY_ASSET_NAME @
operations[0].operand.assetName; trigger:'*There is an existing asset that
represents the same content as the asset to be added*, but with a different
name: the input asset has name '5cdeb8aeeaf5f'; and the existing asset has
name ''. *Remove the existing asset first if you would like to change the
name of the asset.*', reason=CANNOT_MODIFY_ASSET_NAME}]

Now, is setting the AssetStatus to REMOVED not enough to remove the Asset?
Am I missing something here?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Received message larger than max (8665164 vs. 4194304) - Google Ads V1

2019-05-17 Thread Mat
Hi Rajesh,

While the maximum "page_size" of a search query is 10.000, this might exeed
its 4MB-Limit (that's the "4194304" in the error message). Your response
would be 8665164 Bytes (B) = 8.26 Megabytes (MB) large.

I've had this error before and I solved it by lowering the "page_size" of
the search query.
Try something like this:

results = ga_service.search(customer_id, query=query, page_size=2500)

Google Ads API: how to remove cpcBid from keyword/ad group criterion (Python)

2019-05-17 Thread Mat
Hi,

how can we remove a cpcBid from a keyword (or any
other ad_group_criterion), to make the adGroup cpcBid the source of the
cpcBid, using the Google Ads API with the Python library?

In the legacy AdWords API, we used to set the criterion cpcBid = 0, but
this does not seem to work anymore.

Based on this example
,

I've tried several approaches, but none ot them worked:

ad_group_criterion.cpc_bid_micros.value = 0:

errors {
  error_code {
field_error: INVALID_VALUE
  }
  message: "The field\'s value is invalid."
  trigger {
int64_value: 0
  }
  location {
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "operations"
  index {
value: 12
  }
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "update"
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "cpc_bid_micros"
}
  }
}

ad_group_criterion.cpc_bid_micros.value = int():

errors {
  error_code {
field_error: INVALID_VALUE
  }
  message: "The field\'s value is invalid."
  trigger {
int64_value: 0
  }
  location {
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "operations"
  index {
value: 12
  }
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "update"
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "cpc_bid_micros"
}
  }
}

ad_group_criterion.cpc_bid_micros.value = None:

TypeError: None has type NoneType, but expected one of: int, long

Can you help me?

Mat

RE: No Cost Data for Google Shopping Showcase campaign in AD PERFORMANCE

2019-05-17 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Anthony,

Good detective work! :) This is as designed because the *ClickType*
segmentation

on that report or UI view shows *all* click types that *appeared* for a
single impression, and a single impression could have multiple click types.
For example, if an impression served with a headline and sitelinks, you
would see this impression under both *ClickType = Headline* and *ClickType
= Sitelink*. If Google Ads also provided *Cost* data on those rows, it
would be double counted.

If you want the *ClickType* breakdown but also need *Cost* and other
click-related metrics, I recommend running two versions of the report: one
with *ClickType* to get the breakdown, and one without *ClickType* to get
*Cost* and other click-related metrics.

Cheers,
Josh, Google Ads API Team

Hello Josh,

Thanks! I think I finally found the root cause of this issue: the
"ClickType" segmentation is breaking the cost aggregation for this
particular type of campaigns.

I was able to validate this hypothesis by simply using the Google Ads UI
and segment the stats for my campaign in the UI. As you can see, I got
exactly what I was getting from the API call (meaning impressions, clicks
but no cost).

According to you, is it "as designed"? I'm not sure to understand why I can
get the impressions and clicks aggregated but not the cost. This is a
nighmare for me because I'm using this report definition for all our
accounts so I need to think about another report to pull cost data for this
type of campaigns separately, and the re aggregate to get the full picture
of our spent data

Have a great day,
Anthony

In fact, for account ID 313-363-3133 and CampaignID 1010167131. It's a
Shopping Showcase campaign and for this one, I'm not able to get all my
stats except the cost metric. I can see the impression, the clicks, but
nothing about cost..

I'm sharing below my report settings with all the fields selected. My
hypothesis is that one or more fields in this report should break the cost

constraint for shopping showcase campaign.

Could you please help me investigate? Is there anything to be aware of to
pull cost data for this type of campaign.

Thanks a  lot!

Need to fetch summary row for huge data in Google Ads?

2019-05-17 Thread Qaiser Javed

Hi,

Please suggest the quick way to process Google Ads Big Data. Using Google
Ads API with gzip compression data format is implemented.

Case Study 1:

Let's suppose there is an account having 1000 campaigns and 1 million
keywords.

I want to get account level insight that how many impressions are there for
keyword tail length like 1 word keyword, 2 word keyword up to 5 word
keyword. For example:

1 Word Keywords   =   x impressions

2 Words Keywords = x impressions

.

.

5+ Words Keywords = x impressions

For this type of analysis I have to get 1 million keywords in my local
database then process locally and make required result.

But this is very expensive call to get 1 million keywords.

What you suggest what is best practice?

OR

Can I process this huge dataset on Google Ads platform and get only
required row?

Case Study 2:

Actually the solution for case study 1 comes in my mind there should be an
option to apply regular expressions to filer data and get only total row
(one row).

If we get bulk rows then we have to filter rows by sending keyword IDs in
where clause, there is also a limit of 1 keywords in where clause in
operator. Some metrics possible to total manually like impressions, clicks
etc. But %age metrics like Impression Share, EMIS etc not match correctly
with Google Ads GUI. So to match these values we have to get Total column
from Google Ads.

I hope can elaborate my problem well. Please suggest me.

Regards,

Qaiser

AdWords Customer Match : format of hash phone number

2019-05-17 Thread eureca
Hi,
 my customer has hased his phone number without the '+' sign, and other
Advertising platforms do not require the '+' when uploading hashed phone
numbers as long as the phone number is international format.

 Could you confirm that we can use the hashed phone without the '+' sign ?
(https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/remarketing#customer_match_with_phone_number)
"

For privacy concerns, the phone number needs to be hashed using the SHA-256
algorithm before being uploaded. In order to standardize results, convert
each phone number to E164 format
before hashing. This format represents a phone number as a number up to
fifteen digits in length starting with a + sign (e.g. +1212565,
+442070313000)."

 I know the doc talks about the '+' but the E.164 format does not enforce
it :
"

As described in by the ITU, the E.164 general format must contain only
digits split as follows :

   - Country code (max 3 digits)
   - Subscriber number (max 12 digits)"

The '+' is usually provided.

Hash difference for :
33653220436 =>
146fdb3f9d92ebbd7b753f2631e77df6521d40aa654dd9145b51129211f2433f
+33653220436 =>
946ab47c901bdc5af9280d562fcca90a3f44e3b75cd6ed0b9ef187441ce58d8b

In cas it's not possible this mean we need to keep to format for the hash
...

Thanks.

Re: new AdWords API, ClickConversion conversion_action how to specify?

2019-05-17 Thread Oleksandr Dyklevych
To be more specific, this is a piece of code that works in
Google.Api.Ads.AdWords.v201809

OfflineConversionFeed feed = new
OfflineConversionFeed();
feed.conversionName = "Offline Conversions";
feed.conversionTime = "2019-05-13 20:40:34
Europe/Stockholm";
feed.conversionValue = 100d;
feed.conversionCurrencyCode = "SEK";
feed.googleClickId =
"EAIaIQobChMIpeat28qY4gIVyU0YCh16EQ5MEAAYASAAEgIeevD_BwE";

OfflineConversionFeedOperation
offlineConversionOperation =
new OfflineConversionFeedOperation();
offlineConversionOperation.@operator = Operator.ADD;
offlineConversionOperation.operand = feed;

OfflineConversionFeedReturnValue
offlineConversionRetval =
offlineConversionFeedService.mutate(
new OfflineConversionFeedOperation[] {
offlineConversionOperation });

Before running above, i authenticate and authorize my client from managing
account, say "1", and the conversion is uploaded co conversion
action under a managed account "". So, i do not even know which
account it belongs to, i just use one centralized managing account and
upload all conversions at once.

How can i achieve similar with new Google.Ads.GoogleAds library?

Re: new AdWords API, ClickConversion conversion_action how to specify?

2019-05-17 Thread Oleksandr Dyklevych
Hi Dave,

I still cannot get it.

you say "To get the resource name of the conversion_action, you may use the
ConversionActionService.GetConversionAction
()

method". But, per documentation, "resource_name" is the parameter i need to
supply to GetConversionAction(). So, to get request name what should i
supply there?

I try simple
ConversionActionServiceClient conversionActionService =
client.GetService(Services.V1.ConversionActionService);
GetConversionActionRequest conversionActionRequest = new
GetConversionActionRequest();

conversionActionRequest.ResourceName = "Offline Conversions";

try
{
ConversionAction converisonAction =
conversionActionService.GetConversionAction(conversionActionRequest);
}
catch(Exception e)
{

}

it throws error {{ "errors": [ { "errorCode": { "requestError":
"BAD_RESOURCE_ID" }, "message": "'Offline Conversions' part of the resource
name is invalid." } ] }}.

So, how do i get i right?

My task is following:
for every managed account i created conversion action name "Offline
Conversions".

i can get every conversion from back-end with required attributes - gclid,
date time, timezone, value, currency.

The above is enough to upload offline conversions
via Google.Api.Ads.AdWords.v201809 library, but for new library i am
missing this one piece called ConversionAction.
How do i get it working in the new Google.Ads.GoogleAds library?

The best way would be to illustrate with code or point to an example.

I want to use curl to create google ad campaign. I get internal server error. Need help on the same.

2019-05-17 Thread Anushri shanbhag

I have followed steps as mentioned in
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/concepts/curl-example

.

However I need to create campaign, hence I have used this
"campaigns:mutate"  with following json body

{
"operations": [
{
"create": {
"name": "NewCampaign1",
"status": "UNSPECIFIED",
"advertising_channel_type":"DISPLAY",
"serving_status"   : "UNSPECIFIED",
"ad_serving_optimization_status":"UNSPECIFIED",
"real_time_bidding_setting": {
"opt_in" : "false"
},
"network_settings" : {
"target_google_search" : "true",
"target_search_network": "true",
"target_content_network":"false",
"target_partner_search_network":"false"
},
"campaign_budget" : "1",
"bidding_strategy_type":"MANUAL_CPM",
"start_date" : "06/06/2019",
"end_date"   : "07/07/2019"

   }
}
]
}

However I get 500 internal server error. I wanted to know what is going
wrong .Can anyone please help.

RE: QuotaCheckError.DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED

2019-05-17 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out. The error
QuotaCheckError.DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED

occurs

when you use an unapproved developer token to make calls against a
production account. Unapproved developer tokens can only make calls against
a test account. If you think your token should have been approved, or it's
taken more than 2 business days to get back to you, please first
double-check your email to make sure you have not missed a communication
from the API compliance team.

Let me know if this helps. Feel free to write back if you need further
assistance.

Regards,
Dave

Re: No Cost Data for Google Shopping Showcase campaign in AD PERFORMANCE

2019-05-17 Thread Anthony Gianastasio
Hello Josh,

Have a great day,
Anthony

The problem is persisting. Can you please detail out how I can share the

Re: ListAccessibleCustomers fails for one specific account

2019-05-17 Thread Marc Selman
Hi Sai,

I am trying to retrieve a list of accessible customers of a Google account.
In the documentation
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/account-management/listing-accounts
 it
reads:

Listing accessible customers is one of the few requests in the Google Ads
> API that does not require you to specify a customer ID in the request, and
> will ignore any supplied login-customer-id.
>

Our customer has connected his Google account using the OAuth flow to give
access to his Google Ads environment.
The ListAccessibleCustomers call should then return all the accessible
Google Ads account with the customerId etc.

The fact that one of those accounts (8770719274) is not yet setup should
not matter.
His Google account has a completely setup Google Ads account (8305248323)
that should be returned with the ListAccessibleCustomers method.

We have multiple other Google accounts connected this way, some of which
also have some unfinished Google Ads accounts with no such problems.

RE: new AdWords API, ClickConversion conversion_action how to specify?

2019-05-17 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi,

The resource name is different from name. You may check this guide

to

see the difference of resource name and name. To get the resource name of
the conversion_action, you may use the
ConversionActionService.GetConversionAction
()
method. After getting the correct resource name, you may try to call the
API again. If the error persists after putting the correct resource name,
feel free to write back so I could assist you further.

Hi Dave,

i read that guide, but it is not clear where i should get actual value for
conversion_action.

Once again, under each managed account i created a conversion action and
gave it name "Offline Conversions".

here is what i mean:

[image: ConversionActions.jpg]

in old Google.Api.Ads.AdWords.v201809 C# library i used conversion feed
object and set conversion name attribute to "Offline Conversions". Then, i
used managing account to upload the feed, and it was automatically put
under correct managed account under this conversion action "Offline
Conversions", and all works fine.

where can i get correct name for conversion action which i need to set in
the new library? Can i see it anywhere in Google Ads portal under account
settings or properties?
To me, "Offline Conversions" is correct name as per screenshot.

Hi,

Thank you for providing the complete logs. Upon checking, you are passing
an incorrect value to the field conversion_action which is Offline
Conversions. As stated on this guide
,
conversion_action is the resource name of the conversion action associated
with this conversion. This being said, can you try to pass the correct
resource name and then try to make the API call again?

Dave
