RE: Total clicks/cost from keywords performance vs ad groups performance report in Google Ads

2019-07-08 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi,

Thank you for reaching out. Regarding the said reports, each report is
aggregated on completely different entities and statistics generated by the
said entities would sometimes indeed not match. That is why our recommendation
is to not compare reports specializing on different levels.

Since this appears to be more of a product related concern, I would recommend
that you reach out to the product experts via the Google Ads Community Forum to
learn more about how performance data are associated to specific entities.

Best regards,
Peter

no, I still have not received any digests since my last post.

And I don't think that the problem is on my or GSuite's end.

The Digest does not arrive also with other, from GSuite independent

Could it be that this has something to do with this, apparently still

Or, that not sending the digest is your solution to this issue?

RE: Opting out of Google Discover using the APIs

Hi Martin,

With regard to shopping campaigns from the Youtube/Discover network using the
API, unfortunately, we don't have a definite timeline on when it will be
supported in the AdWords API. Please continue to follow our blog for
announcements.

For the second question, could you clarify what you meant by "customer
contracts do not allow for "browse-style" (i.e., not in direct response to
searches) ad impressions?"? If your concern is about handling large number of
entities, you may consider using BatchJobService to schedule large batches of
updates to your AdWords campaigns as asynchronous mutate jobs, and to retrieve
the status, results or statistics of your recent jobs.

Re: Batch Job Cancelled, Internal Error

2019-07-08 Thread Curtis Beck
Thanks Josh,

The day following the failure we deleted the partially created account
structure state and reran the entire batch job to successful completion.

I use batch jobs service frequently. Failing due to internal errors is not
common for me, maybe happening every couple months. When failures like
these are encountered, does submitting them to the forum help the dev team
find issues and improve the system or are they usually already aware of
them and addressing as appropriate?

RE: [Google Ads API Python Library] - How to set the bidding strategy when the bidding strategy has data type of 'MESSAGE'?

2019-07-08 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Miguel,

Thanks for the question. The Java and PHP libraries are setting the
maximum_conversion_value field, not the maximize_conversions field. These are
technically two different bidding strategies, but below are examples of how to
set both:

maximize_conversion_value:

campaign.maximize_conversion_value.target_roas.value = 3.5

maximize_conversions:

This field admittedly has a very confusing interface because it's represented
by an empty proto object, as defined here. In the Python implementation of
protobufs you can't assign to nested proto objects directly, you need to use
the CopyFrom method:

max_conversions_proto = client.get_type('MaximizeConversions')
campaign.maximize_conversions.CopyFrom(max_conversions_proto)

If you were to log the campaign object after this sequence it should look
something like this:

maximize_conversions {
}

Hope that helps! If you have additional questions or feedback related to the
Python library please feel free to open an Issue on the GitHub repository
directly.

Hello Ramanajee,

You may use the UserListService which is equivalent to the
AdWordsUserListService in AdWords API. Please find the code snippet below as a
reference:

CrmBasedUserListInfo userList = CrmBasedUserListInfo.newBuilder()
.setUploadKeyType(CustomerMatchUploadKeyType.CONTACT_INFO)
.build();
UserList newUserList = UserList.newBuilder()
.setName(StringValue.of("Oler user list test 1"))
.setCrmBasedUserList(userList)
.build();
UserListOperation userListOperation = UserListOperation.newBuilder()
.setCreate(newUserList)
.build();

You may use the ad_group resource which can be used to map the ad groups to the
campaigns. Let me know if you have any questions.

RE: How to exclude mobile app categories to a display network campaign

2019-07-08 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hello,

If you are using the AdWords API, you could use CampaignCriterionService then
set criterion as MobileAppCategory and then set isNegative to true.

If you are using Google Ads API Beta, then you have to use
CampaignCriterionService then set criteria as mobile_app_category and set
negative field of the CampaignCriterion to true to exclude mobile_app_category
criterion for that campaign. Please let me know if you have any further
questions.

RE: USER_PERMISSION_DENIED for the new Ads API with the java SDK

2019-07-08 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Julián,

The USER_PERMISSION_DENIED error occurs when the account is not linked to an
MCC that can directly manage accounts. Another possible reason is that the
OAuth2 credentials used has no access to the specific client account. Could you
please make sure that you're generating the OAuth credentials by logging in as
a user who has access to the Google Ads account? If you're generating the
credentials from a manager account, and are accessing a related customer
account, you will need to set the login-customer-id header to the customer ID
of that manager account, removing any hyphens in the ID. If you're still seeing
an issue, could you please share the email address used for authentication
along with the error logs using Reply privately to author option, so I can take
a look?

Could you please share the screenshot for me to help you further with detailed
information? You could reply via Reply privately to author option.
For Standard Access, it is not possible to increase the get request more than
1000 requests per day. It is recommended to use get operation sparingly only
for inspecting objects.
You could use the same credentials from Adwords API to access new Ads API
without re applying.

Hello Praveen,

Once you got the ids of those display campaigns, you can apply filter on the
CampaignId field on the CriterionPerformacneReport by adding the where
condition in the report query(example given below). You could use the code
sample in JAVA from here.

.where("CampaignId").in("1591618263", "1382949293", "1744060782", "1591618263")

Not related to Google Ads specifically, but if you log into your Google

AdwordsUserListService MutateMembers performance

2019-07-08 Thread 'Chuck Dusseau' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi,

Our client has noticed a drop in throughput since the end of June when
 using *MutateMembers* on *AdwordsUserListService* (v201809) to maintain
their audiences.

They are looking to get some advice on scaling and increasing their
throughput. Currently they are constantly uploading users to a number of
user lists, but seem to be unable to do so fast enough.

They are asking if it is safe to mutate the same user lists in parallel,
and is there anything they should be aware of to ensure that they don't run
into issues like concurrent modification errors? Are there any other
options available as they are unable to get adequate throughput?

Thanks,

Chuck

Re: Need help using Query API for python to display age_range and gender_type

2019-07-08 Thread Vinutha Nayak
Hi Ziv,

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

Yes , you were right in the sense that I was trying to edit the age and
gender criteria via the Demographics screen which is for Adgroup campaign
and in code as pasted above, I was trying to fetch them at campaign level.

I corrected myself, but then arises I have these two questions.

1. As far as I understand, by default ( i,e if we don't explicitly specify
something in campaign_criterion) then by default all gender types and age
range should be included. So even in that case, shouldn't the result be
something different than "0" that I am seeing now . ? Please correct me
if I am wrong here.

2. Given that I was earlier trying to modify age range and gender type
values at AdCampaign level in the UI , I tried one more thing , I
specifically set the values at campaign_criterion at code level as follows:

   campaign_criterion.age_range.type = client.get_type('AgeRangeTypeEnum',
version='v1').AGE_RANGE_18_24
   campaign_criterion.age_range.type =
client.get_type('AgeRangeTypeEnum').AGE_RANGE_25_34
   campaign_criterion.gender.type= client.get_type('GenderTypeEnum').MALE
   campaign_criterion.gender.type= client.get_type('GenderTypeEnum').FEMALE

   But then I see this error to set it itself *"**Error with message "Criteria
type can not be targeted." * Can you please let me know where I am going wrong
?

Thanks and Regards,
Vinutha Nayak

Total clicks/cost from keywords performance vs ad groups performance report in Google Ads

2019-07-08 Thread Акулов Алексей
Hi Community,

It is clear to me that in Google Ads we have multiple "performance"
reports, where we can check cost on different aggregation levels.
Let's have an example:
1. Get keywords performance report: CampaignName, AdGroupName,
AdNetworkType1, AdNetworkType2, Criteria, KeywordMatchType, Cost, Clicks
2. Get ad groups performance report: CampaignName, AdGroupName,
AdNetworkType1, AdNetworkType2, Cost, Clicks

We have 2 reports, which return data on different aggregation levels:
keywords vs ad groups.
But my assumption was that in total that should return the same results:

Let's say I will aggregate keywords performance report data on AdGroupName
level and will get the same Cost and Clicks as for ad groups performance
report.
But what I got in real life is:

For keyword performance report I got 2 types of AdNetworkType1:
SearchNetwork (where I got real keywords and their cost and clicks) and
DisplayNetwork(where I get "AutomaticContent" keyword and aggregated value
of clicks and cost)
For ad group performance report I got 2 types of AdNetworkType1:
SearchNetwork and DisplayNetwork both aggregated on ad group level.
SearchNetwork part matches correctly, but DisplayNetwork for
"AutomaticContent" in keyword performance aggregated on ad group level
doesn't match DisplayNetwork ad group performance report (here I got much
larger value for cost and clicks)

Why such can happen?
Does that fine to use keywords performance report to aggregate and get data
on higher levels, such as ad group or campaign level?

Thanks in advance.

CustomerSyncSelector by user?

Hi,

Using the CustomerSyncSelector (or equivalent in new API) I wondered if
there was a way to find the user which applied the changes, either in the
new or current API?

Many thanks

Are metrics in CAMPAIGN_LOCATION_TARGET_REPORT aggregated by county for different Location Ids?

2019-07-08 Thread Anton Gabov
Hello,

I use Java client for downloading CAMPAIGN_LOCATION_TARGET_REPORT with such
Query:

ReportQuery query = new ReportQuery.Builder()
.fields("CampaignId", "CampaignName", "Id", "Date", "Clicks",
"Impressions", "Conversions", "Cost")

.from(ReportDefinitionReportType.CAMPAIGN_LOCATION_TARGET_REPORT)
.during(ReportDefinitionDateRangeType.LAST_7_DAYS)
.build();

The result is the following:
Campaign ID,Campaign,Location,Day,Clicks,Impressions,Conversions,Cost
...
,,2586,2019-06-29,5,3500,25.00,550
...
,,9061362,2019-06-29,0,2,0.00,4500
...

After that, I want to map Location to the Country Name via
LocationCriterionService (
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201809/LocationCriterionService
).

But in the result I have different locations, which belong to one country
(like in the result above):
1) 2586 - it's Pakistan county
2) 9061362 - it's Pakistan county, BUT it's only specific region of the
country - Federally Administered Tribal Area

In my case I would like to have metrics for the countries not for the
regions. That's why I have questions:
Are metrics in the report for the regions, cities and e.t.c are already
included in the metrics for the country?
Or should I sum all metrics, which are related to different locations but
belonged to one county, in order to get aggregated result?

For instance, what result should I have for county Pakistan?
1)  ,,2586,2019-06-29,5,3500,25.00,550
or this:
2)
,,2586,2019-06-29,5,3500,25.00,550
+
,,9061362,2019-06-29,0,2,0.00,4500
=
,,Pakistan,2019-06-29,5,3502,25.00,5504500

Hey. I had an idea to create an application for communication "room" where
rooms are created automatically when one user clicks "go to visit" to another.
but the other can be in the room is not one and going to visit the user can
meet. the idea is that you can only enter to the familiar and to communicate
privately and not as if I went to his house and there is already someone there.
but I'm not a developer, you like that do here ) I will be glad if someone
implements my idea.

Decimal precision of metric AbsoluteTopImpressionPercentage

2019-07-08 Thread Marie P-Lavoie
Hi!

I noticed that the AdWords API returns the value
of AbsoluteTopImpressionPercentage with 2 decimals only (for example, 0.42,
which will be 42.00%).

However, in the AdWords UI, the value has 4 significant digits (for
example: 42.22%). Why is it not the case when fetching the data from the
API?

Thank you!

Campaign with biddingScheme of targetCPA gets BiddingErrors.BID_TOO_SMALL error when pushing (python)

2019-07-08 Thread Bloom
Hello,

I'm working on a tool to build display campaigns with predefined settings.
My campaigns have a *biddingStrategyType* of *TARGET_CPA*. When I try to
push this directly, it tells me I need a *biddingScheme* as well with a
*targetCpa* amount (it doesn't prompt me to do this with my *TARGET_SPEND*
 campaigns)

No matter what amount I put for *targetCpa* (I know the amounts are in
millionths), it gives me the error *BiddingErrors.BID_TOO_SMALL*. I've
tried ludicrous amounts in the trillions, empty strings, etc., and it still
throws this error. If I remove the *targetCpa* field, then I get the error
that says the field is required, so I know it's not a syntactical issue
with my operations dictionary.

Any idea how to solve this?

USER_PERMISSION_DENIED for the new Ads API with the java SDK

2019-07-08 Thread Julián Canada Racinet
Hi all!

We are having issues in *production* the new GoogleAds API. We are using
the java sdk. This approach works for some customers but not for others (we
are not yet using the MCC account)
When trying to retrieve data, we first create the client:

*   Credentials creds = UserCredentials.newBuilder()
.setClientId(myCredentials.clientId)
.setClientSecret(myCredentials.clientSecret)
.setRefreshToken(myCredentials.getRefreshToken)
.build();googleAdsClient = GoogleAdsClient.newBuilder()
.setCredentials(creds).setDeveloperToken(*
*myCredentials**.developerToken).build();*

And when we try to query the GoogleAdsClient, we get USER_PERMISSION_DENIED
error (for example, request-id=WGaViBiCTnaPpgijuPi4lg).

This approach works for some accounts but not for some others*. An
important thing to notice* is that those failing log in attemps *do work* for
the adwords axis java sdk using the same credentials.

We tried with the oauthdoctor but couldn't connect either.

I've saved the complete log if you want me to share privately.

Thank you!

Re: Opting out of Google Discover using the APIs

2019-07-08 Thread Martin
Anybody?

Google API team -- do you have any information about whether it is (or will
be) possible to opt out Shopping campaigns from the Youtube/Discover
network using the APIs?

Is there a suggested solution for agencies that are handling thousands to
tens of thousands of campaigns, where customer contracts do not allow for
"browse-style" (i.e., not in direct response to searches) ad impressions?

Thanks,
Martin

Any other meaning?

RE: Can I get Conversion Currency Rates for Google Ads

2019-07-08 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi,

Thank you for posting your concern.

Unfortunately, the conversion currency rates is not supported in AdWords API.
The cost/money value is being returned by AdWords API reporting based on the
currency type specified when creating the AdWords account.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi Horacio,

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you confirm my understanding in the statements below which is correct?

You wish to download reports and call MutateJobService at the same time.
You wish to use MutateJobService to download multiple reports.

I am afraid both scenarios are not possible. MutateJobService only supports a
specific type of operation that can be found here.

If I misunderstood this, could you elaborate this further so I could better
assist you?

RE: How to access adwords user info after oauth consent

2019-07-08 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Jason,

Thank you for reaching out.

Since you are using PHP, I would recommend that you download our PHP client
library as it is easier to use and has basic operations already included. After
generating your OAuth2 Credentials, you would have to create your properties
file by following this guide. The access token is no longer needed here as the
client library automatically generates this for you.

After setting this up, you can then proceed on calling the get campaigns class.
You can refer to this link for the sample code.

If you have further concerns, kindly let me know and I would happily assist you
with this.
