Hi Dennis,

Thank you for reaching out.

I am afraid setting the "Pay for Conversions" is not supported in the AdWords

We currently do not have a direct example for what you are looking for,

ex. $campaignEstimateRequest->setCriteria([$unitedStates, $mexico]);

Hello,

In general all the reports that are pulled from a account will be based on the
account's time zone. Even here the hours pointed to the timezone of the account
to which the API call is made. In your query you can add the attribute like
ad_group.id or ad_group.name so that the metrics will be meaningful. Please let

Agerange inclusion/exclusion and mutliple criterion setting under same xsi_type

2019-08-28 Thread Arnab Ganguly

I have few question.

How do I make the ad group visible to particular age group.

With below setting from the API,

'xsi_type': 'BiddableAdGroupCriterion'

  'criterion':

'xsi_type': 'AgeRange'

'id': '503001 (18to24)

When go to UI, under AdGroup->Demographics I still see other ages are
enabled (like 25to34, 35to44).My expectation was it should be enabled to
18to24 only.

How do i make it specific to 18to24 only.

I also tried

'xsi_type': 'NegativeAdGroupCriterion'

  'criterion':

'xsi_type': 'AgeRange'

'id': '503003'

Then i see it is disabled for (35to44)

So by default all the age ranges are enabled ? Can I explicitly create for
one age range only adgroup by using BiddableAdGroupCriterion or I have to
mention list of agegroups in NegativeAdGroupCriterion which I want to be
excluded ?

Thanks,

-A

Hi Ejay,

Thanks for your response. I wasn't aware of enabling SOAP logging. Thanks
for letting me know. The batches were failing with the same error all the
time but when I tried to run with SOAP logging enabled, it doesn't fail

post the logs to this same thread if it fails again in future.

Thanks for your help.

I'd like to use the Google Ads API in NodeJS, and I was able to do this
with the protocol buffer definitions published on GitHub. These files are
outdated, and the code that is generated with these files doesn't include
the new fields. I suppose that the official client libraries are also based
on these proto files, so publishing the updated files to GitHub shouldn't
be too hard.

What timezone if segmentation by hour

In the google ads api in the query we can segment by hour to get hourly

But I could not find any information which timezone is applied in this

Example:

SELECT
 segments.hour,
 metrics.clicks

WHERE segments.hour BETWEEN 8 AND 9

Campaign Criteria

2019-08-28 Thread Sam
Hi,

On the criteria page for the Google Ads API here:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/targeting/criteria

It says:

GenderInfo
By

default a new campaign will contain no gender criteria, which means that
all genders are included. Only negative criteria are supported at the
campaign level. At the ad group level, you can bid on or exclude genders.

Does this mean that older campaigns may have criteria set for Gender? If
so, at what point was the switchover?

Thanks

Sam

How to change uservertical IDs and customaffinity IDs to unique Criterion name at Audience Performance Report?

2019-08-28 Thread AXM Ad company
Hi

I have one question.
I extracted Audience Performance Report from Adwords API for using Ad
reports.

When I extracted those reports, I conformed Audience IDs.

On there, they says like "uservertical::92005" and "customaffinity::11".

I don't understand what they are saying.

How to confirm each IDs which are affinity and custom categories?

And I wanna change Japanese that I extracted Audience IDs.

I'm looking forward to giving an advice.

CampaignBidModifier Resource Name Invalid Customer ID

2019-08-28 Thread Deborah Perez
Hi,
This is a question about Google Ads API and for Python.

I am trying to mutate a campaign bid modifier using
'CampaignBidModifierOperation'.and 'CampaignBidModifierService'. Upon
providing a resource name, in the format
'customers/{customer_id}/campaignBidModifiers/{campaign_id}~{criterion_id}'
I get this error 'Resource name not found'. The resource I definitely
extracted during a query to view all campaign bid modifier resource names.

The login_customer_id is a manager account id we use in our google
credentials.
Here is the code:

# cbm is short for campaign bid modifier
customer_id = '' # Add customer id here
criterion_id = '' # Add criterion id here
campaign_id = '' # Add campaign id here
LOGIN_CUSTOMER_ID = '' # MCC Account ID typically imported

client = google_ads_client()
client.login_customer_id = LOGIN_CUSTOMER_ID
cbm_service = client.get_service('CampaignBidModifierService',
version='v2')
cbm_operation = client.get_type('CampaignBidModifierOperation',
version='v2')
cbm = cbm_operation.update
cbm.resource_name =
'customers/{}/campaignBidModifiers/{}~{}'.format(customer_id, campaign_id,
criterion_id)
cbm.bid_modifier.value = .97

# Retrieve a FieldMask for the fields configured in the campaign.
fm = protobuf_helpers.field_mask(None, cbm)
cbm_operation.update_mask.CopyFrom(fm)
cbm_response = cbm_service.mutate_campaign_bid_modifiers(
customer_id, [cbm_operation])

print('Updated campaign %s.' % cbm_response.results[0].resource_name)

I hope someone can help. Perhaps I am not using this api correctly.
Thank you!
-Deb

How to set "Pay for Conversions" through API?

2019-08-28 Thread Dennis Koschig
Hello, currently the Campaigns i create automatically use "Pay for Clicks"
as Payment-Method.

[image: pay for conversions.png]

(Ignore that in the shown Screenshot "Conversions" cannot be selected, the
Screenshot is from our Test-Account and not from our Production-Account)

How can i change this to use "Pay for Conversions" instead through the API?
Which Objects/Constants in the php-API are responsible to set "Pay for
Conversions"?

The Code currently looks like this:

switch ($opt_target) {
  case FeedObj::OPT_TARGET_CLICKS:
$bidding_strategy_configuration = new
BiddingStrategyConfiguration();
$bidding_strategy_configuration->setBiddingStrategyType(
  BiddingStrategyType::MANUAL_CPC
);
$bidding_scheme = new ManualCpcBiddingScheme();
$bidding_strategy_configuration->setBiddingScheme($bidding_scheme);

$campaign->setBiddingStrategyConfiguration($bidding_strategy_configuration);
break;
  case FeedObj::OPT_TARGET_CONVERSIONS:
//@todo: can we do something to select "pay for conversions" ?
// Set bidding strategy: Target CPA
$bidding_scheme = new TargetCpaBiddingScheme();
$money = new Money();
$money->setMicroAmount($mysterious_micro_amount);
$bidding_scheme->setTargetCpa($money);
$bidding_strategy_configuration = new

$bidding_strategy_configuration->setBiddingScheme($bidding_scheme);

$campaign->setBiddingStrategyConfiguration($bidding_strategy_configuration);
break;

How to set "Pay for Conversions" through the API?

2019-08-28 Thread Dennis Koschig
Hello, how can i manipulate the following setting "Bezahlen für" / "Pay
for"  through the API?

[image: pay for conversions.png]

Currently, Campaigns are created with "Pay for Clicks" but i want to change
this to "Pay for Conversion" through GoogleAds API Code (php).

The Code currently looks like this:

switch ($opt_target) {
  case FeedObj::OPT_TARGET_CLICKS:
$bidding_strategy_configuration = new
BiddingStrategyConfiguration();
$bidding_strategy_configuration->setBiddingStrategyType(
  BiddingStrategyType::MANUAL_CPC
);
$bidding_scheme = new ManualCpcBiddingScheme();
$bidding_strategy_configuration->setBiddingScheme($bidding_scheme);

$campaign->setBiddingStrategyConfiguration($bidding_strategy_configuration);
break;
  case FeedObj::OPT_TARGET_CONVERSIONS:
//@todo: can we do something to select "pay for conversions" ?
// Set bidding strategy: Target CPA
$bidding_scheme = new TargetCpaBiddingScheme();
$money = new Money();
$money->setMicroAmount($mysterious_micro_amount);
$bidding_scheme->setTargetCpa($money);
$bidding_strategy_configuration = new
BiddingStrategyConfiguration();
$bidding_strategy_configuration->setBiddingScheme($bidding_scheme);

$campaign->setBiddingStrategyConfiguration($bidding_strategy_configuration);
break;
}

How can i accomplish this? Which Objects/Attributes/Constants are needed to
create Campaigns with "Pay for Conversions" instead of "Pay for Clicks"?

Hi Steve,

Thank you for reaching out.

Unfortunately, I can only provide you insights on the AdWords API perspective.
In the AdWords API, you can use the Keywords Performance Report to get
statistics on the keyword level. Once you have successfully integrated your
Google Ads account with Google Analytics account, additional fields will appear
that are related to Google Analytics. You may refer to this guide for more
information.

Also, for additional reference, you can refer to this guide for the list of
fields supported in the AdWords API.

Dimensions and Metrics available through the API

2019-08-28 Thread Steve Wright
Hi,

Can anyone point me in the right direction for the AdWords API & YouTube
API dimensions and metrics explorers? (I found one for GA -
https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/reporting/core/dimsmets)

I want to make sure that the dimension I'm after can be pulled through the
API.

Basically the team here are running a YT campaign and want to see the KW
targeting pulled through the API (along with the relevant metrics). I'm
not sure if that would be available through either the AdWords or YT API
(or neither of them).

Thanks

Steve

RE: Adword API Monthly Search Volume

2019-08-28 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi,

Thanks for posting your concern.

For your convenience, you can use this sample code for Java (sample code for
retrieving targeting ideas is also available to other client libraries) as it
will include the search volume of keywords in the response.

However, you may sometimes experience the 'RateExceededError' error when using
the TargetingIdeaService as this service behaves differently as compared to
other services of the AdWords API. The overall count for the usage of this
service is counted against all accounts using the service at a given time.

When the volume is too high during that period then users should encounter the
RateExceededError at the rateScope=ACCOUNT. If you will encounter the error,
the only workaround for this issue is to retry your request after some time
until the usage volume has gone down.

RE: BatchJobProcessingError.FILE_FORMAT_ERROR : upload labels

2019-08-28 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi,

Upon checking the SOAP logs you provided, you were including LabelOperation
which is not supported for batch processing. This could be the reason why you
are encountering the error. Please see this guide for the list of supported
operations in the BatchJobService.

If you are creating new labels, you need to create these separately via
LabelService.mutate(), and the operation should not be included in the
BatchJobService.

RE: API campaigns report not matching UI and total incorrect

2019-08-28 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Liam,

Thank you for providing the details privately.

My apologies for the delayed response as I was discussing this with the team.
The discrepancy is due to the fact that conversion values on each row are
rounded to two decimal places, while the total adds up the actual values and
then rounds to two decimal places. Upon checking the UI, it is also observed
that it does the same.
