Thanks for letting me know that the new metrics were implemented in the
Keyword Performance Report, I hadn't noticed that. But it seems that the

By the way, how do you get access to the Campaign Location Target Report in

Re: Google Ads API - reports: locations and top impressions rate

2019-09-24 Thread David García
Hi Nikisha,

Thanks for the feedback.

Glad to know that AbsoluteTopImpressionPercentage and
SearchAbsoluteTopImpressionShare are implemented in Keyword Performance
Report. That's good news.

However, they are not implemented in Geo Performance Report, although they
are implemented in the web UI. That's very unfortunate because average
position was implemented but alternative metrics are not. That's a really
downgrade of your data analysis possibilities via API or scripts. I'm sorry
to know that.

Hope in the near future you can solve that and even implement it in Google
Ads API.

Regards,

David

during this "beta" phase, there may be breaking changes in the Google Ads API.

Extremely long query times on getting a lot of data.

2019-09-24 Thread AVB Analytics
Hello everyone,

I work for a private company where we deal with Google Ads. We have
approximately around 600 accounts under our manager account. Each of the
manager account has around 10 campaigns, and each campaign has around 10 ad
groups. And each ad group has around 20 ads. We are developing auditing
tool that will be checking inputs of our employees to Google Ads account.
So we can squeeze 100% out of Google Ads platforms. Less errors higher
results and performance. For this tool we are getting data from Google Ads
API via JSON object. The problem is in the qureing time. For example I
query all of the ads under 50 accounts and it takes around a minute to
query all of them. The object that I get back is around 25 lines. If I
will do the same thing for all of our accounts that will grow exponentially
and take around 10-15 min to just get all of the ads. That is too long of a
response. I am looking for a way to solve this issue. As I understand in
order for me to audit the data I will have to get all of tit or at least
chunks, but that does not matter will take a long time Also we are
going to be expanding in couple years so our accounts will double. What
would you suggest ?

Thank you.

Hi Alex, it is not possible to retrieve the gmailAdHeadline or
gmailAdDescription in the Ad Performance Report. I would suggest retrieving
those fields with a GET request on the AdService and caching the results so
that you can join those fields with the results from the Ad Performance Report
as needed.

We ave a Python tool that build a selector like below, that simulate the

Adwords API sunsetting date

2019-09-24 Thread Dragos Calmac
How does moving Google Ads API back into beta status affect Google Adwords
API's sunset date?

Will Adwords API live for a year after Ads API goes back to
production-ready, or is it set to sunset soon? We are still using Adwords
API for our production environment and would like to know how long we can
still rely on it. We have started migrating to Ads API but will need time
to test it on production when it moves back to production-ready.

Thank you.

Re: Google Ads API - reports: locations and top impressions rate

2019-09-24 Thread Zweitze
I'm sort of in the same boat.
We have similar problems, in our case (using AdWords API v201809) we cannot
access top impression stats in reports AUDIENCE_PERFORMANCE_REPORT and
CAMPAIGN_LOCATION_TARGET_REPORT, although they do exist in the web
interface of Google Ads.
On one thing you were wrong, in KEYWORD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT those stats do
exist - they are called "AbsoluteTopImpressionPercentage" and
"TopImpressionPercentage".

Note I only checked AdWords API, not Ads API nor Ads Scripts.

In our case, we prepare our users to live without those stats for a while.

Hello,

I'm seeing the exact same error on my test account, and it was working a
few days ago so it's something that changed recently.

Is there anywhere documentation on how to use UniversalAppCampaignInfo and
how to add the add assets (to an ad group i guess?) with the Java library?

All the documentation you linked still uses UniversalAppCampaignSetting and
the examples fail with the error above...

the type AdParam from the AdWords API has, among others, the following

One of the restrictions says "Can use / between two numbers. For example 4/1

this context?

Re: Google Ads API - reports: locations and top impressions rate

2019-09-24 Thread David García
Hi Nikisha,

Thanks for the feedback.

However, there are still some critical problems:

In a few days (30th September) you will remove the average position in the
geo reports (and others). It is supposed that it will be replaced with new
metrics, like absolute top impression percentage and search absolute top
impression share. However, in the link you provide for geo reports via
AdWords API, it seems that those new metrics (absolute top impression
percentage and search absolute top impression share) are not accesible. I
can see them on the web UI but they are not visible via API. Can you
confirm that please?

I thought they could be implemented in the newest Google Ads API but
unfortunately you are confirming that that data can not be pulled.

The point is that in several places you are removing in a few days the
average position metric (geo performance, keywords performance) but you are
not providing accesors to the new substitutive performance metrics (top
impression percentage and search absolute top impression share). Is that
true? If so, I think this is a terrible downgrade in your application.
During years I have accessed average position in geo and keywords
performance reports via Google Ads Scripts. But now, you are removing
average position, and the new metrics on geo and keywords performance
reports are not accesible neither via Google Ads Scripts (getStatsFor) nor
Google Ads API nor AdWords API. What a disaster! Was that on purpose (I
can't imagine the reason why) or has it been unintentional?

Please check this because if average position is removed without access to
the new metrics via getStatsFor in Google Ads Scripts (or equivalents in
Google Ads API or AdWords API), it could be justified to delay that removal
until the new metrics are implemented. Otherwise, you are causing a big big
big downgrade on your application.

Hope you can reconsider this.

Thanks,

David

RE: We cannot get option of Manual Bidding CPC through Adwords API

Hi Martin,

The different supported bidding schemes in the AdWords API are not readily
selectable using any of the API's services. I would recommend that you refer to
our bidding guide for more information on how you can set up your bidding
strategies and also to know which bidding schemes are available.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

Thank you for providing further details and I'm sorry for not understanding
your concern correctly.

In the AdWords API perspective, you may retrieve id using
ConversionTrackerService.get(). Could you confirm if this is you are looking
for? Also, please note that Analytics goals and transactions created in Google
Analytics profiles linked to this Google Ads account are returned with no

RE: KEYWORDS PERFORMANCE report API average position sunset

Hi Rich,

Thanks for posting your concern.

The average position metrics, after it has been sunset, will only return null
values (represented as two dashes "--" in the reports) as stated here. That
said, historical data would also no longer be available. If possible, you may
already apply changes on your end to no longer include the said field in any of
your requests as it would no longer provide any usable data after the sunset
date.

Also, I would like to recommend that you keep an eye on our blog for any other

Re: Google Ads API - MEDIA_BUNDLE

2019-09-24 Thread Omri Gal
Hi Bharani,

1. Do you know when will it be available to pull MEDIA_BUNDLE via Google
Ads API?
2. I've the following test:

   1. Queried Google Ads API Ad_Group_Ad_Asset_View endpoint for Rovio,
   account_id = 2708572890.
   2. From the response, I've filtered out only Assets with asset.type =
MEDIA_BUNDLE which have non zero cost metric.
   3. Date = 05/09/2019
   4. List of the assets_ids = [1286848931, 1286848913, 1286848910,
   1286848919, 1286848916, 1286848928, 1286848925, 1286848922]
   5. As you've suggested above, I Queried from Adwords API using the
MediaService.Get() Service with the following query but the response was
   *empty*:

Selector = {'fields': ['MediaId', 'Type', 'Width', 'Height', 'MimeType',
'FileSize', 'Name', 'SourceUrl', 'StreamingUrl',
'Urls','YouTubeVideoIdString'],
'predicates': [{'field': 'MediaId', 'operator': 'IN', 'values':
[1286848931, 1286848913, 1286848910, 1286848919, 1286848916, 1286848928,
1286848925, 1286848922]}]}

I'll be glad to understand why the response was empty, and how it is
possible to pull the MEDIA_BUNDLE from Adwords API.

Thanks,
Omri G.

Re: Gmail Ad details - Headline and Description

2019-09-24 Thread Alex Mansour
Hi Ejay,

Thanks for your reply.

Let me explain again what is our case and what we are looking to achieve;
our integration with Google Ads API are only used for fetching data of our
Ads and Campaigns and we are not currently creating the Ad itself using the
API, this we are doing using the UI.

Getting back to our original inquiry we made in this thread: we are not
able to fetch the Ad headline and description using the "gmailAdHeadline"
and "gmailAdDescription" fields in the "Ad Performance Report" as always
the response is null for these fields. Following Dannison' response he
mentioned that it should work when we create our Ads using the "Gmail Ad
Option". My question now; as we are creating our Ads using "Upload Gmail
ads" which is Option #2, can we still fetch the Ad headline and description
fields somehow?

Let me know if you need further clarification.

Best regards,
Alex

Cannot ceate uac campiang with api, get OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CAMPAIGN_TYPE error

2019-09-24 Thread yan Ma

First of all, my code for creating uac campaign works correctly before. And
today when I try to create new uac campain, it failed.

Then I check the code and it get exception below

OperationAccessDenied{apiErrorType=OperationAccessDenied,
errorString=OperationAccessDenied.OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CAMPAIGN_TYPE,
fieldPath=operations[0].operand.settings,
fieldPathElements=[FieldPathElement{field=operations, index=0},
FieldPathElement{field=operand}, FieldPathElement{field=settings}],
reason=OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CAMPAIGN_TYPE, trigger=}

when calling campaign.mutate(operations).

And I see the UI of uac has changed. But the api document is still not
changed.

So my questions is what is the right way to create uac campaign with API?

Thanks

RE: Data Mismatch for newly added metrics(alternatives of Average Position Metric)

2019-09-24 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Avinash,

Thank you for posting your concern.

With regard to your concerns, please see the comments for each of your
questions below:

How can we get the same format in the API?
--> Unfortunately, this is currently not possible to get the same format in the
AdWords API. If you would like to convert it to the same format accurately, I
would suggest that you reach out to the Google Ads Community Forum as they are
more equipped to answer this.

Where can we get the IMPRESSIONS ON TOP / IMPRESSIONS ON ABSOLUTE TOP /
ELIGIBLE IMPRESSIONS ON TOP ETC.. values from the API?
--> It appears that your concern is about the values required for computing the
metrics as discussed here. That said, this is also already more of a product
related concern, and with this, I would recommend that you reach out to the
Google Ads Community Forum as well.

Hiroyuki

RE: Getting INVALID_PRODUCT_PARTITION_HIERARCHY when updating partition

2019-09-24 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Artem,

If a partition tree has already been created as biddable, you would not be able
to directly convert it or any of its subdivisions/units to be excluded. You
will first need to REMOVE the BiddableAdGroupCriterion and afterwards ADD a new
NegativeAdGroupCriterion then associate your ProductPartition, all this using
the AdGroupCriterionService.

I hope this has been helpful.

Thanks and regards,
Peter
