Greetings!

This was escalated up to me to take a look. It is indeed odd, and you did an
excellent job of proving what's happening. I've escalated an internal issue to
see if we can get a resolution soon. Feel free to ping this thread if you don't
hear from me soon.

RE: Traffic estimator api getting different results from keyword planner

2019-10-23 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Marwan,

There is no specific service from the Adwords API that corresponds to the
HISTORICAL METRICS tab in the Google Ads UI. However, you could retrieve the
Clicks, Conversions, Cost and other metrics by running the
KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT in the Adwords API to have a better understanding
of the keywords performance.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further concerns.

Information request for criteria ids defined for Detailed demographics, similar audience.

2019-10-23 Thread Arnab Ganguly
I am seeing criteriaids defined for in-market audience
(https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/codes-formats).
Is there any place for criteria ids defined for Detailed demographics,

When I pull using CampaignCriterionService for campaign ids and using
selector with predicates like USER_LIST, USER_INTEREST.
I see criteria ids defined for USER_INTEREST details.I am looking such
details in a csv or tsv file.
TIA,

For the report without criterion segmentation, each row will show an ad and the
total cost for that ad. When you add the segmentation, each row will show an
ad, a specific criterion for that ad, and the cost associated just with that

We use go and we don't have any client library.
We just create http client using oauth2 authentication with google credentials.
Then we make xml object described above.
Then we send it to the campaign service in the adwords.
And we get response described above.

Error Displaying Dynamic Feed Images in HTML5 Ads

2019-10-23 Thread Justin Courville
Hello,

Recently my team noticed that HTML5 Ads created in Google Web Designer with
dynamic images from the remarketing feed are not displaying images in the
wild.

The current steps to reproduce this issue:

1. Export Ad as zip bundle from GWD (with dynamic images from the feed in
the index.html)

2. Upload the zip file through the API (MediaService, MediaBundle)

3. Attach the result from the MediaService zip upload to a TemplateAd

The API will accept the upload and return no errors however, the Ads will
not display the dynamic images from the feed. Is there a step I am missing?

Thank you!

Re: Campaign start date not always consistent between AdWords SOAP API and Google Ads GRPC API

2019-10-23 Thread Alexandre Lord
Request/Response dump sent in private.
Keeping to comment public so any one having the same issue can track the
conversation.

We are testing our migration by fetching the campaigns from both AdWords
and Google Ads API and comparing the results (delay of ~0.1-2 seconds
between the calls). Looking at our logs we did 151 733 calls to fetch
campaigns in the last 24 hours and got 3 611 mis-matched start dates over
the same period. Looking at the 24 hours before that matches and we see
that it's the same campaign ids with the same date drift.
We have a large mix of account linked directly, linked through MCCs, linked
through chains of MCCs, in various time zones.

We do not observe any drift when fetching statistics segmented by date on
those accounts. (Impression count/Convertions/... matches by dates
correctly)

We welcome any hints on how we can mitigate this.
Thank you.

Re: API limits for TargetingIdeaService

2019-10-23 Thread Thiru K
Hi Josh,

Considering the above idea, we have increased the number of seed per
request to 200 for Keyword ideas and page size as 800. But when I increase
seeds above 100, the ideas output is reducing. PFB the test results.

Below is the results and counts

Run 1:

Page size = 800

No. of seeds per request = 100

Keyword idea count = 4030

Run 2 & 3:

Page size = 800 & 500

No. of seeds per request = 150

Keyword idea count = 2743

Run 4:

Page size = 800

No. of seeds per request = 200

Keyword idea count = 2023

On analyzing the results of Keyword ideas, there were difference in number
of keyword ideas generated. Could you please check why there is a reduction?

Thanks,
Thiru..

 Hello,

My job is to get the search volume (STATS) for 10,000 keywords and pass
in these 10,000 keywords to generate keyword ideas (IDEAS). I have a
question on the API limits of the TargetingIdeaService.

 https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/limits#targeting-idea

Looking at this link, I understand that I can send 700 keywords to get
the stats and 200 keywords per request to get keyword ideas. If this is
 the
limit, then I need ~ 15 API calls to get the STATS and 50 API calls to get
the IDEAS. Does these 65 calls translate to 65 Operations ?

 In this page https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/ratesheet
 it says

 Operation: get
 Count: 100 targeting ideas
 Service: TargetingIdeaService 1

How do I calculate the number of operations ?

Also, are there restrictions on the number of keywords returned in the
keyword ideas response ? If API returns 2000 keyword ideas for a batch of
200, I will have to read it in batches of 700. Does reading through the
response count towards the operations ?

I already have the code to retry after the recommended time in case of
 rate limit errors.

I am trying to find out the optimal payload size for my STATS and IDEAS
 reports.

 Thanks!
 Karthick
