There is a problem when requesting Google ad API.

2019-12-12 Thread PLAY D D
The questions are as follows.

There is a problem when requesting Google ad API.

My application use google-ads 3.0 version.
and import com.google.ads.googleads.v1.services.

Use that query to get your Google ad account list.

STEP 1.

"SELECT segments.date, metrics.impressions, metrics.clicks,
metrics.cost_micros, metrics.conversions, metrics.all_conversions,
metrics.conversions_value, metrics.all_conversions_value FROM customer
WHERE segments.date BETWEEN '%s' AND '%s'";

STEP 2. keywordQuery

"SELECT segments.date, campaign.id, campaign.name, ad_group.id,
ad_group.name, ad_group_criterion.criterion_id,
ad_group_criterion.keyword.text, ad_group_criterion.status,
segments.ad_network_type, segments.device, metrics.impressions,
metrics.clicks, metrics.cost_micros, metrics.conversions,
metrics.all_conversions, metrics.average_position,
metrics.conversions_value, metrics.all_conversions_value,
metrics.absolute_top_impression_percentage,
metrics.top_impression_percentage,
metrics.search_absolute_top_impression_share,
metrics.search_top_impression_share,
metrics.search_budget_lost_absolute_top_impression_share,
metrics.search_budget_lost_top_impression_share,
metrics.search_rank_lost_absolute_top_impression_share,
metrics.search_rank_lost_top_impression_share FROM keyword_view WHERE
segments.date BETWEEN '%s' AND '%s' ";

Call api logic like this.

SearchGoogleAdsRequest request = SearchGoogleAdsRequest.newBuilder()
.setCustomerId(id)
.setPageSize(PAGE_SIZE)
.setQuery(getAWQLString(keywordQuery, startYmd, reportYmd))
.build();
SearchPagedResponse response = googleAdsServiceClient.search(request);

Re: Listing Custom Intents, or searching by them by name

2019-12-12 Thread Mark
Hello,

The documentation you linked says, *The AdWords API does not support
management or retrieval of custom intent audiences via services such as
AdGroupCriterionService*.
We are looking to implement a feature where we can use the IDs of auto
generated custom intents for targeting, I understand that these IDs cannot
be retrieved directly through the API. However, if we know the ID of a
custom intent audience, it can be targeted through the API. Can we also
target auto generated custom intent audiences?

Thanks.

this time. The error while querying for the API reports could be a transient
issue and retrying the request with a backoff will usually work. Could you
please give this a try? If you're seeing this issue, please share the request
and response logs using Reply privately to author option to investigate further?

Regarding your second concern, I was able to check this internally with the
team and they suspect that it is possibly a network issue. Could you try
viewing the documentation on a different machine to see if this is
reproducible? If it's only happening from one machine, then it may be
environmental.

RE: report set ordering

2019-12-12 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi,

You may use the ORDER BY clause to sort the report data. You may refer to this
guide which illustrates the usage with an example. Please take a look and let
me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Invalid campaign name error when using mutate operation on campaigns with foreign language characters

2019-12-12 Thread Max H
Hi there!

I have a python script that reads all campaign names within an account and
then performs a "find, replace" function to follow a new naming convention.
I'm getting the CampaignError.INVALID_CAMPAIGN_NAME @
operations[4406].operand.name] when the original campaign name contains
character in a foreign language (for instance, it happened with Chinese
characters and Thai characters). I'm guessing the problem is with the
encoding and decoding of these characters. When I download the report using
.DownloadReportWithAwql, I save it in a dataframe using encoding "utf-8".
Later this dataframe containing all campaign names is modified using a
dictionary with the "find, replace" rules.

Is there a way to encode/decode campaign names in foreign language
characters so that I don't get the invalid name error?

Thanks for the help!

Google Ads - Excluding zero impressions

2019-12-12 Thread 'Hannes Fischer' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello everybody,

Refering to documentation (
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/reporting/zero-impressions)
zero imprressions could be excluded using segments. However, that's not
working properly. If I try to execute following query, I still get many
zero impression values:

SELECT
campaign.id
,ad_group.id
,ad_group_ad.ad.id
,segments.date
,metrics.impressions
,metrics.clicks
,metrics.cost_micros
,metrics.conversions
,metrics.conversions_value
,metrics.gmail_secondary_clicks
,metrics.absolute_top_impression_percentage
,metrics.top_impression_percentage
,metrics.video_views

FROM ad_group_ad

WHERE segments.date '2019-12-01'

Do you have any idea, how to exclude zero impressions and zero clicks? I
need all values where

metrics.impressions > 0
OR metrics.clicks > 0
OR metrics.cost_micros > 0
OR metrics.conversions > 0
OR metrics.conversions_value > 0
OR metrics.gmail_secondary_clicks > 0
OR metrics.absolute_top_impression_percentage > 0
OR metrics.top_impression_percentage > 0
OR metrics.video_views > 0

However, OR condition is not available in WHERE clause (
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/query/grammar). So what
could I do?

Best regards,
Hannes
