How to fetch spend data accurately (or as per local timezone)?

2020-09-30 Thread Balraj Singh
I am using `ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE` Report Type to fetch *Spend* amount of few
CustomerIDs. I'm using Adwords' ReportQueryBuilder to

*Select ('ExternalCustomerId ', 'Cost' )*
*From ('ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT')*
*During(start_date=start_dt, end_date=end_dt)*

However the `cost` value of report output is different from that of
platform (Google Ads UI).

For eg.
I have a customer Id XXX-XXX- that has 3 Account Budgets (Status: 1
Active and 2 Ended) :
BudgetOrderId: 0005-8146-
Start Date: Nov 1,
End Date: 2019Jul 31, 2020
BudgetAmount: CA$1,227,971.38
Spend: CA$1,226,444.23
Status: Ended

However, the report output is:
Cost: 1228818.07

I'm trying to understand the discrepancy. Thanks in advance.

our top priority right now is to get the new Google Ads API ready for general
availability. As such, we aren't planning on adding enhancements to the AdWords
API, but we will continue to fully support it, and address any bugs as they are
found.

Thanks and regards,
Xiaoming, Google Ads API Team

Re: GoogleAdsRow object not iterable?

2020-09-30 Thread Mat
Hi Deny,

that's an interesting solution. I've never thought about handle the
response that way but I'll definitely check it out, thx.

Regarding the encoding, I've had troubles too, but fixed them with this
line below the #!/bin/bash:

#coding=utf-8

Don't know if that helps in your case, though.

Hi,

out of 3 times it works ok but the other 1 time the exception occurs with
no info on what caused it. The data I send are always the same, so it can't
be data related.

Exception in thread "main" java.util.concurrent.CancellationException: Task

My code is quite standard, create a batch job, addAllMutateOperations and
addBatchJobOperations,
and so on, as per
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/batch-processing/best-practices

Any ideas?

Hi,
I am sorry, I have no permission to reply to the author only. The option is
disabled and I see this tooltip: "You do not have permission to reply to
author in this group".

Anyway, I cannot see an actual API call, this exception is thrown from the
Google.AdWords NuGet before actually make any API call.
I think that I miss "access token" parameter
,

I have "refresh token" only (which is different). Is it necessary?

Exactly Mat, that's what drove me nuts and made me have to come up with a
(much) less than elegant solution because I really can't afford to write
non-reusable code at this point in my life for a matter of principle. I'll
share the snippet below, can't guarantee it will work without modifications
for any given resultset but it has been working flawlessly for me so far:

import yaml
import codecs

# your loop goes here (for row in ...)
   tmp_row = str(row).replace(" {", ":").replace("}", "").replace('\\"', "")
   tmp_row = codecs.escape_decode(tmp_row)[0]
   tmp_row = tmp_row.decode("utf-8")
   new_row = yaml.load(tmp_row, Loader=yaml.FullLoader)

# Note: had to also use a codecs function to fix encoding which is messed
up as well.

Getting authenticated with Ads API v5 and service account

2020-09-30 Thread Erik Møiniche-Kiebe
Hi I'm trying to get started with the Ads API v5 using a service account..
I'm familiar with the CM, DV360 and Analytics API, but somehow can't get
Ads API to work.

I already have a service account working with the 3 above mentioned APIs.
I'm enabled the Ads API and gotten a developer token.

When granting access to a service account is it the same procedure as ie.
DV360, where you invite the email of the service acocunt to the Ads account?

To my understanding I have to put in the developer token in the
google-ads.yaml file, which I've done. Also in the yaml file I've tried
several login_customer_ids which should be tied to the customers account.

I'm using the Python client library and I've tried the sample script
*get_campaigns.p*y. No luck. Not even the *get_account_hierarchy.py* or
*list_accessible_clients.py
*work. What am I getting wrong?

Can someone explain the authentication setup to me like I'm five? The
documentaion around v5 are pretty vague, and I really don't want to get
started on the older Adwords API when starting fresh.

Re: campaign.advertising_channel_type returns number

2020-09-30 Thread Mat
Hi Harshad,

the client libraries offer modules/methods to fetch the enum names out of
these numbers. You'll find some examples here:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/samples/get-account-changes

BTW: I' m under the impression that the quality of the answers from the
members of the Google Ads API team has been decreasing significantly lately.

Regards
Mat

How to clear end date for the campaign

2020-09-30 Thread Andrey Kopkin
Hi, team!

I need help with API usage. In the UI I can remove the end date for the
campaign, but cannot find a way to do it with API. If I omit the end_date
field for the Campaign Resource - there will be no changes. If I provide
the empty value - I get the error "The string date's format should be
-mm-dd"

So, the question is - can I clear the end date from the API and what kind
of request I should make for that?

Thank you.

Promotion Extensions Editing

2020-09-30 Thread Roman Bondarenko
Hello, team!

I would like to ask for a help or report a bug.
So here is a situation.

Firstly: I send a request to create a Promotion extension with such
payload: "payload1.py" which transforms to request to your API which is in
"request1.txt" and I receive response which is in "response1.txt" file.
Everything goes well and extension is successfully created! As you may
noticed it has money moneyAmountOff discount, not percent.
But then I want to change it's discount to percent and send payload which
is in "payload2.py" which cast to "request2.txt" and receive response from
API "response2.txt"...

It says -
ExtensionSettingError.PROMOTION_CANNOT_SET_PERCENT_OFF_AND_MONEY_AMOUNT_OFF.
So there is no possibility to change discount to percentOff from
moneyAmountOff? Or am I missing something? ( On your platform there is such
opportunity )

Also you might noticed that in "request2.py" missing any data that I
dropped to None moneyAmountOff field, so it might be the reason why API
still considering I am using that value...

Well, I hope that's enough info...
Thank you and have a nice day!

Re: Call Ads Headline - getting from API

2020-09-30 Thread Oksana Sulyma
Xiaoming, thanks so much for your answer!
Just wanted to double check if these headline fields are not available in
version of API = 201809? I don't see headlines
here:
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201809/AdService.CallOnlyAd
Is there a way to pull Call Ads headlines for using API = 201809?
Thanks,
Oksana
