Re: Big Discrepancies Between Campaign and Detailed Placement Reports

2020-10-30 Thread Don Cosseboom
Hi Anthony,

I did contact Product Support, and they shed some light on the difference
between the views in the Google Ads UI, but that still doesn't address the
delta in API calls.

Why is there a 3M impression delta between the two reports?
The UI has 800k delta between the Placement and Where Ads Showed reports.

Thanks,

Don

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for reaching out. Please find my response to your questions below:

The ResponsiveSearchAd has headline, description and path as its fields. You
could refer to this code on how to set these fields.

Please use this code example to remove a campaign. For removed campaigns, you
could only retrieve them when you specify the CampaignStatus to include
“REMOVED”.

The Video Campaigns are supported only in reports. The API does not expose
functionalities to create/manage video campaigns.

Unable to pull detailed demographics type for Audiences

2020-10-30 Thread Chris van der Meulen
Hi,

I've been trying to make use of the ad_group_audience_view via Google Ads
API, but I'm struggling to find data for the Detailed Demographics audience
type which is display as "Detailed demographics" in the platform.

By querying the ad_group_criterion resource, I've been able to find the
corresponding criterion_id which links to
ad_group_audience_view.resource_name which maps to:
`customers/{customer_id}/adGroupAudienceViews/{ad_group_id}~{criterion_id}`.

My issue is that this criterion_id is named in the platform, but I'm not
able to find the name of that criterion via API. This criterion type shows
up as 'UNKNOWN'. I've looked through all the retrievable fields of the
ad_group_criterion resource, but I don't see anything that could link to
that criterion's name.

Thanks

-Chris

Aggregating Search Impression Share (and other metrics)

2020-10-30 Thread Prototype.co
We are trying to retrive and aggregate data using the Google Ads API (v5).
The goal is the following:

*Retrieve and/or calculate aggregate Search Impression Share (and Top
Impression %, Abs Top Impression %), segmented by campaign type (Search,
Shopping, and a Total Aggregate).*

Note that this is not an outlandish thing to do, basically we are looking
for the data available on the Google Ads online interface, right at the
bottom of the campaigns table, in the dropdown of "Total: Account": "Total:
Search", "Total: Shopping", "Total: Display" and so on.

Now, the *customer* resource is often used to query aggregate data at the
account level. Clicks, Impressions, CTR and the like. But the cutomer
resource does *NOT* have advertising_channel_type available as a resource
field. It would have been too easy.
Ok, the *campaign* resource comes to the rescue. After all, this resource *does
*have advertising_channel_type, and it is fairly easy to sum clicks,
impressions, costs. It is also possible to work out CTR and CPC by
calculating Clicks/Impressions and Cost/Clicks on the summed data. But what
about search impression share?

- Averaging search impression share across campaigns is an obvious no-no.
- Using impressions-weighted averages seems to be the right thing to do,
and it does seem to work for search campaigns, but falls short for shopping
campaigns and account totals.
- There is another method outlined
here:
http://reprisemedia.com.au/blog/why-you-are-measuring-impression-share-wrong/
Basically divide impressions by search impression share to get an
"available impressions" column, and then do
SUM(Impressions)/(SUM(Avail.Impressions). This also seems to work fair
enough for search campaigns, but falls apart totally when Shopping comes to
play.

So, to sum things up...
Do you have any idea how we can get the following data (everything in red,
but particularly the ones in black) using the Google Ads API:

In preferably as few steps and as few (and as small) queries as possible?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Ads Team,

Thanks for your response. It seems I don't have permissions to reply
privately, "Reply to author" is greyed out. What do I have to do to enable
it?

Re: Where do you get loginCustomerId when migrating from AdWords to Google Ads migration

2020-10-30 Thread Ales Sturala
Hello,
I think that I have found the answer. It is actually possible to get the
*loginCustomerId* through the API by using this service:

https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/account-management/listing-accounts

So I believe that for both scenarios:

I. Migration of current customers

   - We can write a script that will use ListAccessibleCustomers

 method
   to look up the loginCustomerId for every existing Google Ads account

II. Adding new Google login

   - Using the same method, after OAuth2 process completes and returns a
   refresh token, we can list all the Google Ads accounts the refresh token
   gives us access to

The documentation actually very well documents those scenarios from my
original
post:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/account-management/listing-accounts

My bad not reading the documentation first.

Best,
 Ales

Re: geographic_view doesn't return data when segments.geo_target_metro is empty

2020-10-30 Thread Elżbieta Jakubska
Hi,
I do not have permissions to reply to the author only.

I'm not an expert in your UI, but if I enter
Reports->Custom->Table->Location
and I'm taking dimensions + metrics like:
(I'm looking on different customer than before)
Country + Impressions => 1279 impressions
Country + Regions + Impressions => 1244 impressions
Country + Regions + Cities + Impressions => 1082 impressions
When I select "Metro area" => I'm getting message "No statistics match your
filters"

And I checked also requests via API and I'm getting exactly the same
through API.

I do not see a word about this behavior of geographic_view in the
documentation, so I'm guess it is a bug. I guess it should be union, not
intersection of results for all dimensions, like it was in old AdWords API.

>From AdWords API I'm getting 1279 impressions no matter what dimensions I'm
requesting, and I understand this is the correct behavior.

Thank you for the reply and your help.

Best,
Ela

Re: Unable to setting campaign bidding strategy to MANUAL_CPM or MAXIMIZE_CONVERSIONS

2020-10-30 Thread Wonkeun Song
Hello.
Thanks a lot about your answer. However, I think it is still insufficient
to set campaign's bidding strategy to MANUAL_CPM or MAXIMIZE_CONVERSION in
Google Ads API with Python.(Actually, I already did it with Adwords API but
I want to migrate it to Ads API). Since both
MANUAL_CPM(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/reference/rpc/v5/ManualCpm)

and
MAXIMIZE_CONVERSION(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/reference/rpc/v5/MaximizeConversions)has

no fileds to fill, I have no idea to setting campaign's bidding strategy to
those of them.

I tried to change "campaign.manual_cpm" or "campaign.maximize_conversion"
directly, but it seems impossible becuase "AttributeError: Assignment not
allowed to composite field "manual_cpm" in protocol message object."
occured.

Thanks and regards.

I have a question getting USER_INTEREST information using PHP library.

2020-10-30 Thread harrison
Hi,
I want to get USER_INTEREST information using AdGroupCriticianService, but
if you run the query statement below, no value will be returned.
Please let me know if there is a problem with my query statement.

$adGroupCriterionService = $adWordsServices->get($session,
AdGroupCriterionService::class);

$page = $adGroupCriterionService->query(
sprintf(
'SELECT UserInterestId WHERE AdGroupId="%d" '
. 'AND CriteriaType="USER_INTEREST" AND CriterionUse="BIDDABLE"',
$adgroupId
)
);

Thank you.
