Google Ads under Performance Max Feature

2021-03-30 Thread 'Vandana Veeraraghavan' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hey Google Ads Team,

We're trying to get campaigns using the feature performance max

using
the Adwords API. This is curl for customer_id="2127443627":

*curl --request POST --http1.1 --header "Authorization : Bearer
$AUTH_TOKEN" --header "developerToken : $DEV_TOKEN" --header
"clientCustomerId : $CUSTOMER_ID" --data "__rdquery=SELECT CampaignId,
CampaignName FROM CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT where
CampaignId=12348351283&__fmt=CSV"
https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/reportdownload/v201809*

Adwords API does not seem to return any info about these campaigns, for Geo
Performance Report or Campaign Performance Report.
In Adwords documentation there is no info about Performance Max campaigns,
it is a fresh campaigns type and probably they haven't include info in
Adwords docs that it doesn't support this type. There is info about support
campaign types
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/campaigns-overview.

Can you please confirm if the new Google Ads API
 will bring in
this information so that we can go about using the newer version?

Thanks,
Vandana

RE: 401 Unauthorized when I try to access with old developer ads.properties file

2021-03-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Bhargav,

Thank you for posting your concern.

I would like to inform you that I am going to delete your initial post as it
contains generated logs on your end. Let me post the body of your concern here
on my reply.

Moving forward, the old production developer token can still be used in the API
request of Google Ads API. However, it appears that there is an issue with
setting up the Oauth2 credential based on the error. With this, I would suggest
following this guide and skip Obtain Your Developer Token step as you already
have a developer token.

If the issue persists, please provide the following details via Reply privately
to author option to further investigate:

Customer ID
Complete request and response logs with request ID generated on your end

Also, I noticed that you are still using v3 API version which was sunset
already, with this, I would suggest upgrading to the newest version.

"I am new to google ads api, old developer in our company has setup the
developer token, client ID, client secret from his google account. As the old
developer left now if I use his ads.properties file in my local to create an
api it says 401 Unauthorized. So I have requested a MCC account and created a
new developer token, client id and client secret from the google developer
console. When I try to apply for basic access it says our organization has
already an approved developer token. I do not have the old account details, how
do I continue. Please help and please see the logs below , this is when I use
old developer's ads.properties details."

RE: CRM - Low Match Rates

2021-03-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Sian,

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you confirm if you have uploaded these audiences using the AdWords /
Google Ads API? Were there also API errors returned after the upload was
completed? If there were, could you provide the following :

Provide the complete SOAP request and response logs generated on your end upon
uploading audiences using the AdWords API
If using Google Ads API, provide the complete request and response logs with
request ID generated on your end

For the above requested details, you may send those using the Reply privately
to author option, for privacy purposes.

In the event that there were no API errors, then I would recommend that you
also reach out to the Google Ads Product support team, via this link, for more
information on the low match rate concern and also other factors that may
affect the audiences ultimately being reflected in the Google Ads UI with
significant differences.

Hi Sahil,

Thank you for providing further details in the private thread.

Upon further checking, it appears that the API transaction is not working
because of the incorrect configuration of the service account in Java client
library. Since the issue involved configuration in Java clibrary, then I would
suggest posting your concern here instead to get support from the author of the
Java client library.

It would be helpful for them if you can provide the sample code that you
currently used and the API logs generated on your end.

RE: geo_target_constants - Resource has been exhausted

2021-03-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Ho Yoav,

The Resource has been exhausted error indicates that you have already exceeded
the daily (1,000) quota for GET requests/operations. You may refer to this
documentation for the quota you need to consider daily when performing requests
using the API.

I would recommend that you use the alternatives mentioned here when retrieving
objects. Furthermore, if you wish to get unlimited number of operations (please
see here), apart from the GET request/operation, you may opt to upgrade to
standard access as well.

RE: How to get Call Extension Phone number through AdWords API

2021-03-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Stephen,

Thank you for posting your concern.

I would like to inform first that there is currently no available sample code
in C# for retrieving call extension phone number. However, if you want to
retrieve this information, then you may use the following suggestion based on
your preferences.

If you used Extension Setting Services on creating extension, then you may used
the following methods as it will return callPhoneNumber field:
AdGroupExtensionSettingService.get()
CampaignExtensionSettingService.get()
CustomerExtensionSettingService.get()

If Feeds Services is used on creating extensions, then I would suggest using
the method below instead:
FeedItemService.get()

Let me know if you have further questions.

Marketo to Ads audience sync: Unable to connect to MCC

2021-03-30 Thread Mitchell UP
When I authenticate the Marketo Launchpoint Service "Google Customer Match"
using a MCC account, the service for some reason only allows me to view and
sync audiences to one of the child accounts managed by that MCC. When we
run a script to see what what Google reports about this account, it
includes this:

false

(I can include the whole response upon request which includes the CID)

We know that this account is absolutely a Manager account. When we log in
to Ads using the same credentials used to authenticate the Launchpoint
Service, we can see all the child accounts listed under the master account.

Can anyone advise how we can set that flag to "true"? It's preventing us
from being able to sync Marketo to the desired master account in Ads.

Hi all,

Is it possible to pause/exclude a product partition from the API?

Hi Giovanni,

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem like it will be likely in the near future as
changing campaign types is not even available in the Google Ads UI.

CRM - Low Match Rates

2021-03-30 Thread Sian Watkins
Hi,

We have uploaded a CRM list to Adwords, audience size was over 80k however
when this has populated we have an audience size of 24k in Adwords.

This can be due to people not having a Gmail email however this is a larger
discrepancy than we would have expected. Is there any other reason other
than users not having a Gmail or domain linked with Gmail that would result
in the difference?

Kind regards

Sian

Audio Ads Data?

2021-03-30 Thread Don Cosseboom
Hi,

We are trying to fetch metrics for 'Audio Ads' via the ad_group_ad view,
but the api is returning no data. An example query is below:

SELECT segments.date, ad_group_ad.ad.id, ad_group.id, campaign.id,
metrics.active_view_cpm, metrics.active_view_ctr,
metrics.active_view_impressions, metrics.active_view_measurability,
metrics.active_view_measurable_cost_micros,
metrics.active_view_measurable_impressions,
metrics.active_view_viewability, metrics.all_conversions,
metrics.all_conversions_value, metrics.clicks, metrics.conversions,
metrics.conversions_value, metrics.cost_micros,
metrics.cross_device_conversions, metrics.engagements, metrics.impressions,
metrics.interactions, metrics.interaction_event_types,
metrics.video_quartile_p100_rate, metrics.video_quartile_p25_rate,
metrics.video_quartile_p50_rate, metrics.video_quartile_p75_rate,
metrics.video_views, metrics.view_through_conversions FROM ad_group_ad
WHERE segments.date BETWEEN '2021-03-23' AND '2021-03-24'

Is there a different view we should be using to get this data, or is it not
yet available in the api. I've tried with both v5 and v6.Thanks,

Thanks,

Don

Re: GEO_PERFORMANCE_REPORT data loss

2021-03-30 Thread Maxim Mazurov
Hi

With AdWords API it was my mistake, so finally I made it work. However, now
I also need to get this report type for UAC campaigns and having some
troubles validating data. To get the report I am using user_location_view
which should return data grouped by location of the user specified in
segments. If I am running the query below

SELECT
user_location_view.country_criterion_id,
segments.date,
segments.geo_target_region,
segments.geo_target_city,
metrics.clicks,
metrics.cost_micros,
metrics.impressions
FROM user_location_view
WHERE segments.date = '2021-03-25'

I am getting smaller amount of clicks, cost and impressions in comparison
to:

SELECT
user_location_view.country_criterion_id,
metrics.clicks,
metrics.cost_micros,
metrics.impressions
FROM user_location_view
WHERE segments.date = '2021-03-25'

I guess this is happening because of the segments used in the query
(segments.geo_target_city, segments.geo_target_region). If the city is
missing for metrics, it is not returning the row, just omits rows with
empty columns. Is that possible to control that and add all the data?

In AdWords API it returned "--" if there is an empty column.
Just to make it clear let me provide an example. In case of Adwords, API
GEO PERFORMANCE REPORT returns country_id, region_id and city_id. If
city_id is missing (I guess for those clicks which were not matched to
particular city), it returns "--". In case of user_location_view I get
different data, because if there is no matched city, there is no row with
the metrics which were matched on regions, but not cities. I can provide
additional account info for which I am requesting data via private messages
if needed.

Other than that UI shows a bit different numbers which are bigger, even
when I do not use segments.

Re: Retrieving ParentLocations in Google Ads

2021-03-30 Thread sebastia...@gmail.com
Hi Anthony,

Actually parent_geo_target is a dumbed-down version of ParentLocations:

1. It skips some hierarchy. Example: according to parent_geo_target the
postal code *SW4* (id: 9045894) is a child of *England* (id: 20339). But
ParentLocations
accurately includes the city *London* (id: 1006886).

2. In addition it can't replace ParentLocations as some locations actually
have multiple parents. Example *Kwinana Town Centre* (id: 1000658) is
actually a child of both *Perth* (id: 1000676) and *Southern & Fremantle*
(id: 9060985). Which can be derived via the ParentLocations field and
verified in the Google Ads UI.

To switch from the Adwords API I would need the equivalent of the
ParentLocations
field that returns all of the location's parents.

/Sebastian

401 Unauthorized when I try to access with old developer ads.properties file

RE: best-practices VS Permissible Use ?

2021-03-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Samir,

Thanks for reaching out. I see you have provided documentation from two
separate APIs. Reporting is different in each API so the limitations will be a
bit different. Assuming you are using the Google Ads API from the form, the
standard access level permits unlimited requests for Search and SearchStream
methods of the Google Ads Service, as mentioned here.

geo_target_constants - Resource has been exhausted

2021-03-30 Thread Yoav Melamed
Hi,

I'm using geographic_view with geo_target_state segment. Since the
geo_target_state returned as a number I'm using the geo_target_state.get
resource for translation - to get the state name.
After 1000 calls I'm reaching the quota and the resource stop working.
What is the best unlimited way to translate the state code to a name?

Thanks,

Yoav

Re: Which location ID(s) to use for KeywordPlanIdeaService for the US

2021-03-30 Thread 'Joy Yu' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hey Ernie,

So I tried *21161* but the volume looks extremely low, I cross-checked it
with the geotargets csv file that google provides and *21161* looks to be
referring to North Dakota*. *Any other options here?

Thanks!

RE: How to authenticate with manager account

2021-03-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hello,

Thanks for reaching out. You can obtain the MCC refresh token by the same
method used to create the customer's account. If you are using one of the
client libraries, and the MCC refresh token already exists, you can find it in
the environment file that corresponds to the library that you are using (e.g.
ads.properties for Java).

How to get Call Extension Phone number through AdWords API

2021-03-30 Thread Stephen
I am trying to retrieve a phone number that was added as a Call Extension
for either Account/Campaign/Ad group.
I am not seeing any documentation for retrieving this phone number
anywhere. Is there any documentation/ C# examples out there?
Also, of the three ways to add call extension (Account/Campaign/Ad group)
is there an easier/preferred option to get this phone number?

Thank you!

best-practices VS Permissible Use ?

2021-03-30 Thread Samir Sabri
Hello

We have a standard access level, and we are only using the APIs for
reporting, we do not use any GET requests, and we do not mutate anything,
we just fetch the ads spending cost for our own company, we do not share
anything with any clients.

The question is, do we have unlimited requests per day as per
here https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/access-levels ?

How do we consider the quotas mentioned here then ?
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/best-practices/quotas

Do we have to fill this form: application to update permissible use
 ?

Thanks, Samir

RE: Which location ID(s) to use for KeywordPlanIdeaService for the US

2021-03-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Joy,

If you want to target the US, then could you try using the value '21161' which
is the country code of US? I tried it on my end and I was able to generate
keyword ideas using the said country code.

Let me know how it goes on your end.

Regards,
