it appears that you are using the .NET library, could you confirm if this is 
the actual link from where you acquired the latest 8.0.0 version?

You may also note that the current Google Ads API version is the v7 as seen in 
our documentation. That said, I would recommend that you also reach out to the 
.NET client library owners, via this link, to confirm if the said 8.0.0 is a 
correct client library version for the Google Ads API v7.

Once their client library team confirms that the 8.0.0 is indeed for the Google 
Ads API v7, let us know so I can raise this issue with the rest of our team.

AdWords API timeout issue while fetching campaigns/Ads

Hello,

We are facing frequent timeout issues while fetching campaigns, Campaign 
Criteria, AdGroups, Adgroup criteria or Ads using Adword APIs. We are using 
'adwords-axis:4.8.0' lib

for example: for fetching campaigns we use, CampaignServiceInterface get() 
method and retrieve campaigns as CampaignPage. We have deployed our code on 
AWS and whenever campaigns are fetched, the API call gets timed out after 
130 seconds. We have not specified such timeout anywhere. Even I know that 
AdWords default timeout is 20 mins. Not sure why this gets time out after 
130 seconds. And this issue is occurring from almost 1 month now.

when I run this on my local machine then sometimes I get the response in 
few seconds but sometimes it times out after 20 minutes. Can you please 
help us to explain why these APIs take this much time? 

We have tried paging option as well but no luck. The first call itself gets 
time out.

Can you please suggest how can we resolve this issue? This is having big 
impact on our production environment.

I appreciate your patience to this concern.

Upon checking on our end, I can see that you are making a request against a 
manager account. However, the KeywordPlanService can only requested against a 
client account. With this, I would also suggest to retry the API request on a 
client account. If the issue persists, you may provide the latest request and 
response logs, with the request-id to further investigate.

Possible to retrieve App Campaign report (breakdown by Ad Group) over Google Ads API or BigQuery Exporter?

Hi Team,

We have been using BigQuery Exporter to extract Google Ads into BigQuery 
for further analysis with a query model. However, notice all the App 
Campaign reports extracted from BigQuery.

Here are the links I am referred to:

I am using this query to retrieve the list of app campaign that created 
under our account:

Then I am trying to find the corresponding adgroup from the app campaign 
returned above with this query, but no results. (it is works for display 
and search campaign)

INNER JOIN {dataset_id}.AdGroup_{customer_id} AS adgroup
ON campaign.CampaignId = adgroup.CampaignId

Understand the BigQuery Exporter is built on top of Adwords / Google Ads 
API.
Wonder if you can assist me in this case?

Hi Pradeep,

The Conversion Action report is unfortunately not available in the AdWords API. 
If you wish to retrieve reports for your conversion actions, I would recommend 
that you use the Google Ads API's reporting instead to retrieve your 
conversion_action records.

Also, from the screenshot, I noticed that an arrow was pointing at the All 
conv. column. If you are looking for this in the AdWords API, then you may 
include the AllConversions field in your SELECT query when using the report 
types listed in the documentation.

Hi,
Could you help to give us more details? Does that mean such fields cannot 
be updated? What is the correct way to update geotargettypesetting?

I have the old version that is exact same request but working. The only 
difference between those two calls are version of Google.Ads.GoogleAds 
(6.1.0 is working, 8.0.0 is not working)

Google Ads Smart Campaigns + Google Ads API

I have tried achieve Google Ads Smart Campaign data using Scripts

But it is not yet supported so I would like to know if Google Ads API does 
support the Smart Campaigns?

Google Adwords API and Analytics are both returning 403

Good morning,

When we perform API queries to either the adwords api or analytics API we 
are getting a 403 error back. 

The log file says;
AW_SOAP.WARNING: clientCustomerId=907-418-3773 operations= 
service=ManagedCustomerService method=get responseTime= requestId= 
server=adwords.google.com isFault=1 faultMessage=Forbidden

With Google Analytics (I know this is Adwords forum, but likely related)
  403. That’s an error.
  Your client does not have permission to get URL 
/analytics/v3/management/accounts/~all/webproperties from this server. 
  That’s all we know.

However the same code + same details work fine in the staging environment. 
This has been working fine until the last few days.

It seems like the server ip (not shared) has been blocked?

How best to resolve this? We've had no emails from Google on the email we 
used to sign up.

Powershell API Photos (Invoke-RestMethod) 401 error

when i want to get some data back I get an 401 error.

v2 API is not available for the account.

I've added a script that adds a price to the headline and while it works on 
other accounts, for some reason it refuses to on one of them.

What I get is: API call to content.products.list failed with error: v2 API 
is not available for the account.

Anyone know what's going on? I'll add tha t the GMC account is relatively 
new (about 2 months)

Missing Search Terms

I am trying to retrieve all Search Terms via the Google Ads PHP API.
However, I noticed that a lot of them are missing. After investigation I 
found out that API  returns only those terms that belong to the type 
*SEARCH* campaigns. Others types are ignored. I don't understand why it 
works like this since when I click in Google Ads UI, the table containing 
these search terms has all of them in it.

My GAGL query that returns search terms that belong to *SEARCH* campaigns 
looks as follows:

















*SELECT search_term_view.resource_name, ad_group.id, ad_group.status, 
campaign.id, search_term_view.ad_group, search_term_view.resource_name, 
search_term_view.search_term, search_term_view.status, 
segments.keyword.info.match_type, segments.date, metrics.clicks, 
metrics.impressions, metrics.ctr, metrics.average_cpc FROM search_term_view

When I try to specify other campaign types, I get 0 results, despite in the 
UI these search terms exist:

How can I get all Search terms?

Please note that we have added restrictions on certain combinations of 
conversion columns and we posted it on this blog post. The CostPerConversion 
field is affected by this restriction and it is now incompatible with the 
following fields:

ConversionAttributionEventType
ConversionCategoryName
ConversionLagBucket
ConversionTrackerId
ConversionTypeName

answer to your questions below.

Since we don't want to misalign our devtoken and our current google project is 
using the old version google adwords api. One question is does the rule above 
apply on google adwords api? -> The rule stated on this guide is only 
applicable to Google Ads API.
Another one is if we remove the manager account or google project would it 
break the linkage? so that we could re-align it to the correct manager account 
or google project -> Could you further elaborate/share a scenario to this 
question so we can better provide our insight?

In relation to your 1st question, you can also check on this Carryover Concepts 
from the AdWords API guide.

Hey Matt,

I made a workaround where I first download all campaign ids into my 
database and then I use the ids in a query that retrieves the keywords. 
This allows me to segment keywords into smaller chunks.
So the new feature won't be necessary and the team can work on more 
important tasks :).
