RE: Webpage dimension (URL) related to a particular conversion in Google Ads API

2021-05-31 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Zarah,

Thank you for reaching out to our API support team.

What is currently available in the conversion_action report is to determine if
a certain conversion action is a conversion_action.type = WEBPAGE. Associated
URLs currently cannot be retrieved via this report.

On the other hand, you should be able to use the landing_page_view to aggregate
metrics at the unexpanded final URL level, and you can segment this using the
segments.conversion_action field.

Let me know if this is what you're looking for. If not, could you share the
complete screenshot of the Google Ads UI view? You may send the screenshot
using the Reply privately to author option. If the said option is not
available, you may send the details directly to our
googleadsapi-supp...@google.com alias.

Hi Vlad,

Thank you for sharing additional details.

Upon further checking, when creating the feed items for your ad customizer
feed, you should be able to specify a feed_item_target using a
geo_target_constant. For more information on feed item targeting, you may refer

Let me know how this goes on your end.

Sorry I didn't answer right away. Thank you very much, we started working
with the new documentation and now everything is fine. The two Google Ads
API and AdWords API documentation are confusing, especially when they
really look similar (I'm talking about design on sites), it's not
immediately clear that they are different projects, and a small paragraph
in the article can easily be skipped.

Conversion Claims To Be Successful But Fails To Reflect In Google Ads

2021-05-31 Thread Austin Pena
How do I diagnose this? Using the Google Adwords API I am submitting a lead
via a GCLID.

After I submit, Google Ads says that it is successful with the correct date
recorded. However, in my campaign, I don't see it come in at that date.

Here's the message I get when the API says it's successful:
2021-05-19 07:15:38-04:00
CjwKCAjwy42FBhB2EiwAJY0yQpsGB5GRsz7x7sC6X0BFqXKk1y6ElAi5yBh7PnWUXqXVneySC02MjhoCtTQQAvD_(redacted)

customers/2874(redacted)500/conversionActions/561122077

The conversion Action ID is the same ID as the one I am using for the
campaign.

Somehow Callrail, where this lead is recorded, has it verified that the
lead campaign from my campaign.

How can I debug this? Google Ads is saying the conversion is received, can
I query the data associated with a gclid?

When I query the gclid I do get the correct campaign and keyword back so I
know at least that part is right.

*Guess*

1. I'm trying to assign a value to an already existing conversion, should I
just send it to a new conversion?
2. Could the conversion date be assigned to the wrong time? How can I debug
that?

Here's my ugly code:

@app.route('/upload_offline_conversion', methods=['POST'])
def upload_offline_conversion():
conversions = request.json['conversions']
# Creates click conversions with a default currency of USD.
click_conversion = client.get_type("ClickConversion")
conversion_action_service = client.get_service("ConversionActionService")
click_conversion_dict = []
for conversion in conversions:
customer_id = conversion['customer id']
conversion_action_id = conversion['conversion action id']
gclid = conversion['gclid']
conversion_date_time = conversion['conversion date time']
conversion_value = conversion['conversion value']

click_conversion.conversion_action = (
conversion_action_service.conversion_action_path(
customer_id, conversion_action_id
)
)
# Set the click conversion attributes
click_conversion.gclid = gclid
click_conversion.conversion_value = float(conversion_value)
click_conversion.conversion_date_time = conversion_date_time
click_conversion.currency_code = "USD"
click_conversion_dict.append(click_conversion)

# Get the conversion upload service
conversion_upload_service = client.get_service("ConversionUploadService")
req = client.get_type("UploadClickConversionsRequest")
req.customer_id = customer_id
req.conversions = click_conversion_dict
req.partial_failure = True
conversion_upload_response = (
conversion_upload_service.upload_click_conversions(
request=req,
)
)
print(conversion_upload_response)

report = ""
failed = False
# Return any partial errors returned.
if conversion_upload_response.partial_failure_error.message:
report += conversion_upload_response.partial_failure_error.message
failed = True

for result in conversion_upload_response.results:
print(result.conversion_date_time,
result.gclid,
result.conversion_action)

if failed:
return jsonify({'report': report}), 400
else:
return jsonify({'report': report}), 200

Retract conversion from Google Ads (with Python)

2021-05-31 Thread Ralf Zosel
My goal is to retract several conversions which I imported to Google Ads
from Google Analytics earlier. For this, I am using the code example
"Upload Conversion Adjustments" from the documentation of the Google Ads API

.

As a result, I get a "Partial Failure" code 3: "This customer does not have
a conversion action of a supported ConversionActionType that matches the
conversion action provided., at conversion_adjustments[0].conversion_action"

The conversion action could be wrong. I found it as a parameter on the
Google Ads Panel as described here
.

(Actually, I wonder how I can get this ID via the API itself.)

You can find my specific code and other details here
.

Any ideas on how I can get this thing running?

RE: Find the original asset when getting error: CANNOT_MODIFY_ASSET_NAME when uploading duplicate image

2021-05-31 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi,

Thank you for raising this concern.

If you are looking for a way to get the value of data field, then I am afraid
that this is not possible as this field is for mutate only.

However, it appears that the error did not occurred because you've uploaded the
same image, rather, this error occurred because you are setting the same asset
name. With this, if you are creating new asset, please ensure to use unique
name to avoid the error. Furthermore, you can utilize the asset view to know
the name of your existing assets before creating new one.

Re: Target location on ads customizer feed

2021-05-31 Thread Vlad Zloteanu
Hey Peter,

Thank you for you response.
Yes, this is the ad customiser feature I’m trying to implement.

Yes, apparently you can add a geo targeting / filtering column. Please find a
screen capture with all the targeting columns you can add to an ad customiser
feed (Google Ads interface):

Here’s Google documentation, speaking about exactly the same columns:
https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/6093368#targetingattributes=%2Ctargeting-attributes

I’m able to do it manually, by uploading a CSV with those columns.
I am not able to do it by API - I’m not able to mark a column as a special
targeting column. Tried using same column name, does not work.
WDYT?

Thanks,
Vlad

Webpage dimension (URL) related to a particular conversion in Google Ads API

2021-05-31 Thread Zarah Fager
Hello!

I'm wondering if anyone knows if the Webpages related to a particular
conversion are available in the Google Ads API?

To get to the report in the UI go via the Tools & Settings menu >
Measurement section > Conversions > then Click any Conversion Action
followed by the Webpages tab.

Have tested several queries but no URLs return data, only a string of
fieldMasks. Not sure if this is expected behaviour?

Thanks!

RE: Target location on ads customizer feed

2021-05-31 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Vlad,

Thank you for reaching out to our API support team.

Could you confirm if this is indeed the feature your are trying to implement?
If yes, it would not be possible to specify a target location in the feed to
restrict the feeds geographically.

Location targeting is implemented at the criteria level which you can find out
more via this guide.
