More confusion with Generate Historical Metrics

2022-05-29 Thread Bruce Axtens
According to the documentation To generate historical metrics:
Create a KeywordPlan, KeywordPlanCampaigns, KeywordPlanAdGroups,
KeywordPlanCampaignKeywords, and KeywordPlanAdGroupKeywords.
Call KeywordPlanService.GenerateHistoricalMetrics with that keyword plan.

Now the weird thing is that the plans come out as a 4-element,
slash-delimited string,
e.g. customers/1879809528/keywordPlanCampaigns/413340892. However, the
GenerateHistoricalMetrics code (which is a documentation-inspired
modification of code
at
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/keyword-planning/generate-forecast-metrics)

expects a long, the keywordPlanId.

I had thought that this number was the 4th item in the plan string, but
this appears not to be the case (and I have traces to prove it.)

So how does one get from plan to metrics?

RE: Valid dimension-metric combinations for Google Ads

2022-05-29 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Valery,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

For you to check the compatibility combinations between metrics and dimensions,
I would suggest that you use the Google Ads Query Builder and Query Validator
tools for constructing queries. With this, you may see all the selectable
fields within the metrics.

Re: Avoid getting io.grpc.StatusRuntimeException/INTERNAL: Internal error encountered

2022-05-29 Thread Philipp Hofschweiger
Hello!
Thanks for the quick response!

Following up on your suggestion to stick with retrying for now i'd have a
general question regarding the retry mechanism. What is the "scope" of this
suggestion? Is it "just this specific request that we trigger again e.g. 30
minutes later" or is it recommended that there are no request at all from
this source (developer token?) for a certain amount of time? In short, do
we have to expect more errors from the API for some time after we
experience "*something unexpected happens*" or are other requests not
affected by this?

RE: Not able to set optimized targeting option for discovery campaign adgroup

2022-05-29 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Gaurav,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API Support team.

With regard to your concern, could you send again a screenshot of the UI ?
because the first screenshot you gave to us is broken. However, to enable the
optimized targeting for discovery, you may refer to Reporting and optimization
if your Discovery campaign isn't performing as expected, you might need to wait
for enough ramp-up time or make adjustments to targeting.

Also, you may check optimized targeting this automatically turned on for all
campaigns. Optimized targeting looks at information like keywords on your
landing page or in your creative assets, then finds audiences that can meet
your campaign's goals.

You can provide it via Reply privately to the author option. If this option is
not available, then send it instead on this email address
googleadsapi-supp...@google.com.

For you to check if you have an API logs, note that this can be requested or

You may note that our team and this channel specializes in Google Ads API

then be found here.

That being said, the LocalService and the search_account_reports that you

Upon checking, I was able to locate this documentation for the Local Services

Caller phone number dimension - not available via Google Ads API?

2022-05-29 Thread Anton Entin
Hello all!

I'm looking to create a script to automate reporting on phone call leads
and I need to include the "Caller phone number" dimension in it. The
problem is that "Caller phone number" doesn't seem to be available for
including in the reports built via Google API, and it can't be retreaved
using Google ads classes or methods. You can access most other details
about the tracked calls but not the actual "Caller phone number".

I looked in various places in the Ads Script and API docs but I can't find
anything about "Caller phone number"... Ex:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v10/call_view

Please let me know if you know how to include what I'm looking for in the
reports (if it's at all possible).

NOTE: This dimension is available in Predefined reports (

RE: get spent (metrics)

2022-05-29 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Ruslan,

Thank you for raising this concern to the Google Ads API team.

Moving forward to your concern, it seems that this is specifically about the
difference of the values from your Google Ads UI and what you are getting with
the Google Ads API. That said, could you provide the complete request and
response logs with request ID and request header generated on your end and a
screenshot of the Google Ads UI showing these values so our team can further
investigate this issue?

You can provide it via Reply privately to author option. If this option is not
available, then send it instead on this email address
googleadsapi-supp...@google.com.

Regards,

Carmela

RE: how to upload App Campaign HTML5 by Google Ads API

2022-05-29 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Hope you are doing well. Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API team.

Moving forward to your concern, it appears that this is specifically about
uploading a zip package. That said, you may see this code example which uploads
an HTML5 zip file as a media bundle.

If the error persists, then please provide the complete request and response
logs with request ID and request header generated on your end.

You can provide it via Reply privately to author option. If this option is not
available, then send it instead on this email address
googleadsapi-supp...@google.com.

This can be requested or provided to the developer handling the Google Ads API
transactions when logging of the API requests has been enabled. If it hasn't
been enabled yet, then advise to refer to the specific guide below:

Java -
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/client-libs/java/logging
.Net -

PHP - https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/client-libs/php/logging
Python -

Ruby -

Re: Adwords api targeting idea INVALID_CRITERION_ID

2022-05-29 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for providing more details to your concern. I am also a member of the
Google Ads API team and let me provide support to your concern.

As mentioned by my colleague, the AdWords API has already sunset. The error
rate for requests to the AdWords API will start increasing toward 100%
beginning on May 31, 2022. If you are currently using the AdWords API, you need
to upgrade to the Google Ads API now or your applications will experience an
increased rate of errors per the schedule on this blog post.

With this, you may try following this guide instead for generating keywords
ideas and monthly search volume in Google Ads API. If the error persists there,
then please provide the complete request and response logs with request ID and
request header generated on your end. You can send it via Reply privately to
author option or send it on this email address googleadsapi-supp...@google.com.
