Upload personal identifiers using SHA-256 with salt

2023-02-03 Thread Štěpán Heller
Hi team,

I am working on a solution to upload offline conversions using the Enhanced
Conversions For Leads feature. My client has concerns regarding uploading
personal identifiers such as email address and phone number using just
SHA-256 method without salt. According to his legal team, using just
SHA-256 could potentially be a GDPR violation. Is it possible to use
SHA-256 with salt? Would that break the measurement of these offline
conversions or their attribution to Google Ads campaigns?

Thanks for any help!

Stepan

RE: Ads API integration issue - Production impact

2023-02-03 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API Support.

I had to delete your post as I can see that the developer token got exposed.
Kindly refrain from posting such details on the forum. I highly suggest
resetting your developer token since it got exposed publicly. A reset will
immediately invalidate your previous token, so any API requests using the old
token will fail. However, a reset will not trigger a re-review and approval for
the new developer token. You can start using the new developer token
immediately.

Here’s the below redacted forum concern for reference:

“Hi Team,

I'm a TAM on the Google Cloud SF Enterprise Team. My Google Cloud Customer
Mixpanel is having a production issue related to their integration with thee
Ads API.

TL;DR is that they were relying on the AdWords API to sync cohorts from
Mixpanel to Google Ads and that endpoint is no longer functioning. While trying
to migrate from the old AdWords API to the latest Google Ads API (as
recommended here), Mixpanel has run into an issue.This has production impact
for them: customers that were using the Google Ads integration Mixpanel offers
to sync their cohorts to Google Ads haven’t been able to do starting Jan 15th
or so.

Mixpanel's Customer ID: 247-586-0313

Please let me know what's the best possible avenue to resolve this.”

However, for us to investigate errors you are encountering using the new Google
Ads API, could you please provide us the complete logs in the format of the
request and response logs along with request-id as seen in their respective
links?

In addition, we recommend enabling logging to capture complete details if any
error occurs by navigating to the Client libraries > Your client library (ex
Java) > Logging documentation, which you can access from this link.

You may send the complete logs via reply privately to author option.

Re: Can create MaximizeConversionValue bid strategy without any target return.

2023-02-03 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Chandar,

Thank you for your reply. I'm also a member of the Google Ads API support team
and allow me to assist you here.

Upon checking on my end, I was able to remove the target_roas value with the
provided request below:

Request
---
MethodName: google.ads.googleads.v12.services.CampaignService/MutateCampaigns
Endpoint: googleads.googleapis.com:443

operations {
update {
resource_name: "customers/(customerId)/campaigns/(campaignId)"
}
update_mask {
paths: "resource_name"
paths: "maximize_conversion_value.target_roas"
}
}

Response

results {
resource_name: "customers/(customerId)/campaigns/(campaignId)"
}

To test the target_roas value is removed, you may try the below query:

SELECT campaign.id,
campaign.maximize_conversion_value.target_roas,
campaign.bidding_strategy,
campaign.bidding_strategy_type,
campaign.target_roas.cpc_bid_ceiling_micros,
campaign.target_roas.cpc_bid_floor_micros,
campaign.target_roas.target_roas,
campaign.maximize_conversions.target_cpa_micros,
campaign.target_cpa.target_cpa_micros
FROM   campaign
WHERE  campaign.id=campaignid.

Re: Ad schedule report breakdowns

Hi Mihail,

Thank you for the reply.

Since you mentioned this, "breakdown/segments by weekday and hour (like in the
Google ad interface)" could you please provide us the whole UI screenshot of
that breakdown/segments by weekday and hour so that our team can raise a
feature request, subject for review for this in the API?

You may then send the requested information via the Reply privately to author
option. If this option is not available, you may send the details directly to

Re: Ad schedule report breakdowns

2023-02-03 Thread Mihail Ivanov
Hello,

Thank you for the update.

segments.date is a completely different breakdown from Weekdays (Mon-Sat)
that I'm interested in.

So to confirm breakdown/segments by weekday and hour (like in the google ad
interface) are not possible via Google Ads API. I will have to implement
those in the code.
