Google Ads API Token Application not work

2023-08-31 Thread OU L

I applied for basic visitation access permission several weeks ago, but I
have not received any response so far.

Could you please help me verify if there are any issues with my application
process? Or do I need to provide any additional information?

Re: Image and Location Migration in Google Ads API

2023-08-31 Thread Kevin
Hi,

I got a private reply, but it looks like Gmail may have gotten confused and
split the email thread so let me reiterate the current details here.
I've tried using the place_id to retrieve data from the Places web service
as suggested in the Google Ads API documentation:
asset.location_asset.place_id

However, all of the requests I can make there to get location extension
data (e.g. address, phone #) cost money to use

.
Advertisers using the Google Ads API can handle a large volume of
locations, so the single-place-id, rate-limited requests to the Places API
look both inefficient and costly.

I think it's unlikely that Google would just remove the data from the Ads
API and force their API users to buy the data back.
Instead, I think I haven't found the correct request in the Places API.

Could you help me understand what the new workflow to get Location data is?
Migration from Location Extensions to Location Assets is already underway.

Thanks,
Kevin

I did some experimenting of my own and I was able to get a close variant for
the phrase: "track and field athletes from Belgium" but the variant was just to
lower-case the word "belgium"

Hope that helps.

How to add or remove account level negative keywords?

2023-08-31 Thread Yunjung Cho
Hi team :)

I want to get some insight from you how to add or remove account-level
negative keywords with API.
Below steps are what I was trying
1. Create or retrieve shared_set.resource_name of type
*SharedSetType.ACCOUNT_LEVEL_NEGATIVE_KEYWORDS*.
2. Create keyword SharedCriterions and attach to given shared_set using
resource_name.
3. Prepare NegativeKeywordListInfo with given shared_set.
4. Create CustomerNegativeCriterion with prepared NegativeKeywordListInfo
or updating NegativeKeywordListInfo to existing CustomerNegativeCriterion.
5. Run CustomerNegativeCriterionOperation.

I encountered an issue from step 4 since I could not get resource name for
CustomerNegativeCriterion. I tried to use report querying
customer_negative_criterion which returned nothing.

Could you please guide how to retrieve existing account-level negative list
info to add or remove keywords?

Regards,

RE: an internal error occurred. please try again later.

2023-08-31 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Mudassir,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API Forum. I hope that you are
doing well today.

With regards to your concern about "Internal error encountered" which happens
occasionally, this occurs when something unexpected happened while processing
the request. The common cause could be the API isn't functioning correctly.
With this, what we can do is to advise you to wait for about 30 seconds, then
retry the request.

If you frequently encounter the internal error, please reach out to us again
and provide the most recent and complete request and response logs with request
ID and request header generated on your end? You can provide it via Reply
privately to the author option. If this option is not available, then send it
instead on this email address googleadsapi-supp...@google.com. If you haven't
enabled the logging yet, logging can be enabled by navigating to the Client
libraries > Your client library (ex. Java) > Logging documentation, which you
can access from this link.

Unable to create root listing group using google ads apis

2023-08-31 Thread Tech Hotelzify
Context:
We have created ad group of type "HOTEL_ADS" using API for a campaign. Next
we want to create the root hotel group so that we can have different
categories of hotels (example based on Hotel Id) for each ad group. Ref:
create
listing groups

We want the same hierarchy as seen in the google ads dashboard UI ( 'All
hotels' (root subdivision) -> '1001', '1002').

Now, based on the google API v14 docs, we are using the AdGroupCriterion
.

Specifically we are using the type listing group to achieve our
requirements.

Problem:
Ideally, we first have to create a listing group of type 'SUBDIVISION' so
that we can retrieve the criterion id, using this criterion id, we will
have to add the individual hotel ids to the root groups.
When we execute this code, we get this error: *'to create the root
subdivision listing group requires others case'*. But to make *the others
case, we need the root criterion id*, which obviously is not possible as
the API is not allowing to create root listing group without the others
case.

We also tried to create the root listing group with 'UNIT' type. The
listing group got created and we got out root criterion id, but since its
of type 'UNIT', we were not able to add children nodes ( hotel Ids in our
case).

Tech stack:
- Node js
- Google Ads Rest Interface V14 APIs

Is there a solution for this?
Thanks

RE: verifying access tokens expired or not using rest interface

2023-08-31 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Deepakraj,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

1.) What is the recommended approach to check if an access token is expired
using a REST interface?

As per this guide
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/oauth/internals#access_token_expiration),
an access token has an expiration time (based on the expires_in
(https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc6749#appendix-A.14) value) after
which the token is no longer valid. Kindly note that you can use the refresh
token to refresh an expired access token. You may also check this guide
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/rest/auth) for more information
about the Authorization and HTTP Headers in the Rest Interface.

2.) Are there any specific endpoints or API calls provided by our
authentication/authorization service to perform this verification?

As for this question, I would suggest checking our guides below for more
information about this:

https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/oauth/overview
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/oauth/internals
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/oauth/internals#access_token_expiration

Verifying Access Tokens expired or not using REST Interface

2023-08-31 Thread Deepakraj S
Hello,
I've gone through the documentation and resources available, but I still
have a few doubts about the best practices for verifying whether an access
token has expired or not. Could you help me out by answering the following
questions?

   1. What is the recommended approach to check if an access token is
   expired using a REST interface?
   2. Are there any specific endpoints or API calls provided by our
authentication/authorization service to perform this verification?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Deepakraj S

Re: confusion about historical versus forecast in ads

2023-08-31 Thread Bruce Axtens
Hello "Team"

The difficulty of getting comparable values from the online Forecast tool
is that the bidding strategy daily budget seems to be tied to the budget of
the CCID's account. We're trying to find out what the impressions would be
if the budget was effectively unlimited. Is there a way to do that in the
Forecast tool?

Kind regards,
Bruce
