Re: Display stats at the ad id level?

2015-12-27 Thread Scott Desgrosseilliers
Thanks Thanet.

We use that one to get some of the display stats. However, we need to know
why the ad was displayed - preferably the website where it was displayed.
 But if not, the criteria.

We mined the criteria performance report and the keyword display
performance report for data. However, those reports aggregate at the ad
group level, while we need the ad level if possible.

Is that possible?

Tracking template with auto-tagging?

2015-12-23 Thread Scott Desgrosseilliers
Auto-tagging causes our tracking template to blow up.

However, some clients really like the auto-tagging inside of Google
Analytics.

How can I get these to play nice together?

Display stats at the ad id level?

2015-12-23 Thread Scott Desgrosseilliers
Anyone know how I can get display stats for specific display ad ids?

We are pulling the criteria destination URL from criteria performance api,
but it only aggregates at the ad group level.

I see some 3 year old threads on this but nothing recent.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Linking ad, keyword, and placement performance reports

2015-07-20 Thread Scott Desgrosseilliers
Thanks Josh, this was very helpful.

For now, doing a ton of cross-referencing between placements, ads,
keywords, and various URL fields has given us what we need - it's a ton of
work though.

Account level tracking template and ad performance report

2015-06-16 Thread Scott Desgrosseilliers
Hi,

Thought I posted this, but can't find it! If I set an account-level
tracking template, such as:

{lpurl}?utm_source=AdWords&utm_medium=ppc&utm_campaign={campaignid}&utm_content={adgroupid}&utm_term={keyword}&device={device}&ad_position={adposition}&adid={creative}

and then retrieve data from the ad performance report:

https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/ad-performance-report

Will I see the final clicked url with the parameters set, in the
CreativeFinalUrls
field? And will the template that was set at the account level show up in
the CreativeTrackingUrlTemplate, even though I only set the template at the
account level and did not set any other level's template?

Thank you!
Scott

Account level Upgraded URLs with tracking templates - does this data flow through to ad performance report?

2015-06-16 Thread Scott Desgrosseilliers
Hello All,

I am cautiously giddy about the ability to set a tracking template
parameter at the account level and have all my ads have the correct
tracking. It sounds incredible.

My wonder is related to pulling the tracking performance data out via the
API. We currently use the ad performance
report,
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/ad-performance-report,

and pull the creativedestinationURL to figure out the final URL with all
the various UTMs.

It seems like we can still do that, but instead retrieve the CreativeFinalUrls
and CreativeTrackingUrlTemplate fields.

My question, if I set a template at the account level, will the
creativefinalurl show all my tracking template querystring value/pairs for
each ad? And will the tracking template show up also??

Here is the tracking template:
{lpurl}?utm_source=AdWords&utm_medium=ppc&utm_campaign={campaignid}&utm_content={adgroupid}&utm_term={keyword}&device={device}&ad_position={adposition}&adid={creative}

Thanks so much for any considerations or answers.
Scott
