Geo Performance report returns undefined region id

2020-01-27 Thread Tomas R
Trying to download geo perfomance report I get one of the region IDs
returned as "--" (country: Denmark (ID: 2208)). Also, the returned data
doesn't quite match the data shown in Google Ads UI.

Here is report definition:

  RegionCriteriaId
  CountryCriteriaId
  Impressions
  Clicks
  Cost
  AverageCpc
  Ctr
  Conversions
  ConversionRate
  CostPerConversion
  ConversionValue
  ValuePerConversion

 LOCATION_OF_PRESENCE

 20191231

   GEO_PERFORMANCE_REPORT #5e2e9a2130872
   GEO_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
   CUSTOM_DATE
   CSV

Can you explain why is that?

Recently we started getting one AdGroup in Ad Group performance report with

Re: Ad in ad performance report segmented by date has empty date field

2018-09-09 Thread Tomas R
What? I am well aware that CSV stands for "comma separated values". I am
asking what is the escape character used when generating the CSV. There is
nothing about escape characters in the documentation and no, comma is not
the escape character. It's either double quotes or backslash.

Re: Ad in ad performance report segmented by date has empty date field

2018-09-07 Thread Tomas R
Hi Luis,

We found the problem. The reporting API is returning improperly formatted
CSV document, because it doesn't escape backslashes, which causes two
columns to be merged into one when there is a backslash at the end of the
cell value.

Re: AWQL Reporting slowdown?

Yes, the reporting API is still extremely slow and I doubt anything will
change in near future.

Re: AWQL Reporting slowdown?

2017-11-07 Thread Tomas R
It's a bit like a closed loop:
1) Reporting API does not support sorters and paging, so you end up getting
data you don't really need which increases response time.
2) All the requests are super slow anyway, so you have to implement caching
with multi-threading. The slower it gets, the more threads you use.
Multiple companies hammering reporting API this way, obviously doesn't
improve API performance.
3) Finally from time-to-time the API stops responding in timely fashion at
all or starts throwing 500 errors (happens relatively often these days) and
*the
engineers* apply some temporary work-around which doesn't solve the real
issue and we are back at point 1.

Re: AWQL Reporting slowdown?

2017-10-16 Thread Tomas R
We are currently using AdWords reporting, Analytics Reporting API v4 and
Facebook Ads Insights reporting API.
On average AdWords reporting is approximately at least twice as slow as
Analytics Reporting (usually more) and usually three times as slow as
Facebook Ads Insights API. And yes, we have standard access.
I am pretty sure there should be a way for you to improve the situation.

Conversion rate calculation

2017-03-27 Thread Tomas R
Either I am missing something or conversion rate calculation on the AdWords
backend side is incorrect.
The conversion rate field description states: "The number of conversions
divided by total clicks"
So for a specific account (5833006980) and specific time period (20170201 -
20170228) we have a total of 2,958 clicks and 24 conversions.
24 / 2958 * 100% = 0.81%

However, for some reason I get 0.35% conversion rate from AdWords server.
How do you calculate that number?
