targetingIdeaService results are not matching with Keyword Planner Tool

2019-10-13 Thread Venkat Janapareddy
Hi Google Support Team,

We are using AdWords API (targetingIdeaService) from the last few months
and the results of this API used to match the previous version of the
Keyword Planner Tool. Since the release of the new Keyword Planner tool,
the results are not matching.

Then we implemented the new Ads API (keywordPlanServiceClient) hoping it
will match the results of the new Keyword Planner Tool, but these also not
matching.

Now we feel that both of these API's keywords are not as relevant as it
used to be with the old Keyword Planner tool.

Please advise us on which API to use which gives us quality, relevant
keyword ideas and matching results with the new Keyword Planner tool.

Please see below link for a document where we summarized all the variations
of the results of both APIs and the new Keyword Planner Tool.

Re: How to add dummy data to my test account

2019-06-11 Thread Venkat
How do we test the reporting api? I found something like keeping the dummy
response file at
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/zeroimpression-structure-reports#structure_reports
.

I didn't find the brief explanation of how to implement it through client
library.

Can we apply for production developer token without doing this
implementation?

Google Ads API - MutateMembers , Adding & Removing members

2019-06-06 Thread Jayashree Venkat
Hi,

We are migrating from Google Adwords API v201809 to Google Ads API as
Adwords API is going to be sunset in 2020.

1. When can we expect the MutateMembers functionality to be available in
Google Ads API ?
2. When can we expect the Addition and Removal of Members to User Lists to
be available in Google Ads API ?

We currently use :

MutateMembersReturnValue mutateMembersResult =
userListService.mutateMembers( new MutateMembersOperation[]
{mutateMembersOperation});

Thanks,
Jayashree

Error occurred at MediaFileOperation create

2019-05-11 Thread Venkat

I tried to make a MediaFile using MediaFileService but failing repeatedly.

media_file_service = client.get_service('MediaFileService', version='v1')

# create media file
media_file_operation = client.get_type('MediaFileOperation', version='v1')
media_file = media_file_operation.create
media_file.name.value = 'Bugs bunny'
media_file.source_url.value = 'http://cdn.zzz.com'
media_file.type = client.get_type('MediaTypeEnum',
version='v1').DYNAMIC_IMAGE
media_file.mime_type = client.get_type('MimeTypeEnum',
version='v1').IMAGE_GIF
with open('candy_1.gif', 'rb') as fp:
data = fp.read()
media_file.image.data.value = bytes(data)
try:
media_file_response = media_file_service.mutate_media_files(
customer_id, [media_file_operation])
except GoogleAdsException as ex:
print('Request with ID "%s" failed with status "%s" and includes the '
  'following errors:' % (ex.request_id, ex.error.code().name))
for error in ex.failure.errors:
print('\tError with message "%s".' % error.message)
if error.location:
for field_path_element in error.location.field_path_elements:
print('\t\tOn field: %s' % field_path_element.field_name)
sys.exit(1)

Above is the code that I implemented. I did this as mentioned in the
documentation. But not sure why this error has occurred.

Request with ID "masked" failed with status "INVALID_ARGUMENT" and includes the
following errors:
Error with message "A required field was not specified or is an empty string.".
On field: operations

Above is the error response I got.

Thanks.

Re: Using Set Operator for offlineconversion

2017-06-02 Thread venkat . jg1980
HI Shwetha
Is there a way we can add a negative conversion value using ADD
operator. The use case we have is to update the conversion value of an
existing gclid as it can sometimes decrease.
Since we cannot use SET operator, we are wondering if we can upload a
negative value so that we can get that effect. I know there is a greater
than zero validaiton, is there a setting we can use to override it and
upload a negative value?

Thanks

Re: Clickid and Site

2017-06-02 Thread venkat . jg1980
Hi Shwetha

We have Click id in our system and our plan is, if we can somehow get
placement and glcid in a report from ad words, then we can map placement to
our internal data by matching on click id.
The Url performance report that you mentioned did not have the click id.
Is there any way we can get performance data at Click id, and placement
irrespective of targeting criteria?

Thank you

Clickid and Site

2017-06-02 Thread venkat . jg1980
Hi
  We trying to find which site does a google click id belong. This is
meant for non search related campaigns where google can serve our ad based
on relevance. We have clickid in our system and if we can get site
associated with that click id, it solves a major puzzle.
We have looked into click performance report and it does not have the site.

Please let us know if there is any way to get to it.

Appreciate any help in this regard

adwords api ruby client for v201509 ?

2015-10-06 Thread venkat
Hello,

I just found that VIDEO_PERFORMANCE_REPORT is out with latest adwords api
version (v201509). However when I tried with the ruby client library I got
the error in logs as - Unknown version 'v201509'. It looked like the api
gem client gem is not updated yet. If that's the case, could you please let
me know when the ruby client gem will be updated ? One more question: Is
there a way to get the video data from api without relying on the client
gem ?

Thanks in Advance

Does Adwords api support video campaigns and ads in v201506 ?

2015-09-28 Thread venkat
Hi,

We have recently observed video ad_type in our adwords account. We are
curious If this ad_type is supported by the latest adwords api(v201506) as
well? We have queried api with predicates = [{:field => 'AdType', :operator
=> 'EQUALS', :values => ['VIDEO_AD']}] which resulted an error.

Thanks
