Re: Traffic estimator

2010-12-30 Thread dcm
Hi I switched to Production mode. But still getting differences. Here
is my criteria

keyword.text = 'mouse'
keyword.matchType = 'BROAD'

ad_group_request.maxCpc = { :microAmount => 100 }

country_target.countryCode = 'US'
language_target.languageCode = 'en'

mean_avg_cpc = $0.54 - $0.54 (Tool)
mean_avg_position = 1.69 - 1.67 (Tool)
mean_clicks = 1568 - 2578(tool)
mean_total_cost = $857.77 - $1413.72(tool).

Also I do not want to specify the ad_group_request.maxCpc . Is there a
way to get around that. I can specify a very large number but wanted
to check if there is a different approach.

THanks
Dilip

Traffic estimator

2010-12-10 Thread dcm
I am using sandbox to test traffic estimator and I know that google
returns dummy values in sandbox. But how off are they from normal
numbers. For example I typed in Dentist; Chicago on traffic estimator
sandbox api and I got Average CPC as $2,567.65 and $3,200.50. The
estimator tool values are $2.84 and $2.87. Will they be so way off ? I
want to make some more calculations based of these numbers. I am
assuming that if the numbers are way off I will not be able to make
any realistic calculations.

I want to hold off from using actual api for testing alone will cost
me some money which I want to avoid.

Thanks

Re: trafficestimator api sandbox

2010-11-19 Thread dcm
Hi Anash,
Thanks for you reply. I was under the impression that only few of
the services returned test data and trafficestimator was not one of
them. Thanks again I will connect to production server and try it out.

Thanks

trafficestimator api sandbox

2010-11-18 Thread dcm
I tried out the ruby sample to get the trafficestimates for version
201008 on a sandbox account and results differ significantly from the
keyword estimator tool. Does it have to be a production account to
test this. Looks like the traffic estimator sandbox url provided in
earlier posts related to traffic estimator redirects to the actual
keyword estimator. Can some one help please.

Thanks
