Re: Traffic estimator
Hi I switched to Production mode. But still getting differences. Here is my criteria keyword.text = 'mouse' keyword.matchType = 'BROAD' ad_group_request.maxCpc = { :microAmount => 100 } country_target.countryCode = 'US' language_target.languageCode = 'en' mean_avg_cpc = $0.54 - $0.54 (Tool) mean_avg_position = 1.69 - 1.67 (Tool) mean_clicks = 1568 - 2578(tool) mean_total_cost = $857.77 - $1413.72(tool). Also I do not want to specify the ad_group_request.maxCpc . Is there a way to get around that. I can specify a very large number but wanted to check if there is a different approach. Ok. Thanks. I will ask my employer to get the API key thanks - dcm On Dec 12, 10:14 pm, AdWords API Advisor wrote: > Hi Dcm, > > The numbers returned by TrafficEstimatorService are purely testing > numbers, and has no bearing upon the actual values from the production > servers. Traffic estimator
I am using sandbox to test traffic estimator and I know that google returns dummy values in sandbox. But how off are they from normal numbers. For example I typed in Dentist; Chicago on traffic estimator sandbox api and I got Average CPC as $2,567.65 and $3,200.50. The estimator tool values are $2.84 and $2.87. Will they be so way off ? I want to make some more calculations based of these numbers. I am assuming that if the numbers are way off I will not be able to make any realistic calculations. I want to hold off from using actual api for testing alone will cost me some money which I want to avoid. Re: trafficestimator api sandbox
Hi Anash, Thanks for you reply. I was under the impression that only few of the services returned test data and trafficestimator was not one of them. Thanks again I will connect to production server and try it out. trafficestimator api sandbox
I tried out the ruby sample to get the trafficestimates for version 201008 on a sandbox account and results differ significantly from the keyword estimator tool. Does it have to be a production account to test this. Looks like the traffic estimator sandbox url provided in earlier posts related to traffic estimator redirects to the actual keyword estimator. Can some one help please.
