Hi! Since 6.2.0 there exists a removeService-method in the ServiceAccountantManager.
Calling this method should remove all references to the service in order for it to be garbage collected. (from http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-java/source/detail?r=119) Did you already try that?
