Generating Ad Preview Url feature status

Hello, from what I have gathered from previous forum threads is that the Ad 
preview link that we generate on the platform on click is not available 
using the Google Ads API v12. the answers seem to also indicate that this 
feature has been request previously and is under review.

Any news on this? I would like to have a preview-link, so customers can see 
the 'preview-ad' they just generated 
(we are making caroussel ads). Is there another way to get either a link or 
a link to the (preview) of an add?

Ad Preview via API call

We have customers that continually ask us for an example of their ad. How 
do we use the preview tool to generate an example we can show them?

If there is another automated/programmatic way to get this type of view 
that's fine too, but we need to show them their ad, and not say 'hey go 
google some keywords, and good luck if you see it :).

your account and see no ads that match this type. The type

We're currently using the Ad Preview and Diagnosis tool to understand where 
ads are showing and look for opportunities to expand keywords. Does this 
functionality exist with any other API's? If not, is there any estimate of 
when the feature request might be released?

Get HTML5 public ad preview URL from API

Hi guys!

We are trying to get the preview URL of our HTML5 ads from the API via 
AdService.

>From entries.templateElements.fields.fieldMedia.urls we get  as FULL url:
https://tpc.googlesyndication.com/sadbundle/17030416868106482116/index.html

Which shows a blank page. From the code it seems like it is what we need.

A real preview URL that we get from the MCSS looks something like this:
https://adwords.google.com/aw_displayads/creatives/ExternalPreview?hl=es&ad=314045918624&adGroup=61961856469&ocid=243708628&isObfuscatedOcid=false&showMulPreview=true&showVariations=true&creativeType=19&pk=null&sig=ACiVB_zk8Q743_ThgG7g-tPvSu6WYmP__g

So basically this one is the one we need, a public preview URL for our 
HTML5 ads, but we can't seem to find it via API.

We tried building the URL but have no idea what *ocid *is and looks from 
this entry like it is a reserved variable:

Is there an API for Responsive ad preview?

Hi!
Is there a way to get "rendered" responsive ad previews in different 
formats with some API like they are showing up when editing an ad? 
Also there is this "external preview" 
link: https://adwords.google.com/aw_displayads/creatives/ExternalPreview , 
with some parameters it gives similar preview as well, but there are is a 
signature parameter which I don't know how to construct myself.

The Ad previews is currently not supported through the API. As an 
alternative to reports, you may use the AdGroupAdService.get()

get the Asset Link

Hi there! I hope this old thread is still monitored cause I have a question.
With the new version of API 201806 we can get next fields in Ads report:
  'EnhancedDisplayCreativeLogoImageMediaId',
  'EnhancedDisplayCreativeMarketingImageMediaId',
  'EnhancedDisplayCreativeLandscapeLogoImageMediaId',
  'EnhancedDisplayCreativeMarketingImageSquareMediaId',
My understanding is that I can use these fields to get a preview of my 
ResponsiveDisplayAd.
Mentioned fields return the values of type Long like '4165810229'. 
Is there an algorithm for this Ids to be 'translated' in URLs for preview?

Ad type = TEMPLATE_AD can refer to any of the ads created using 
AdGroupAdService and the TemplateAddata type. Please refer this

for more clarity. However, via API, the closest to Video Campaigns you can 
have is the Video Performance Report

but, unfortunately, it does not give the video preview that you are looking 
for.

Display Ad preview (Video Thumbnail)

Hi guys,
We have a client that would like to see Video Preview next to his Display 
Ads in reports that we produce.
So we show data we get from Adwords Ad Performance Report. 
Am I correct that if Ad has Ad type = TEMPLATE_AD (Display ad) - this is 
video? 
Is there any way to pull this video preview thumbnali from API using Ad 
Performance report IDs?

Neither of these features are supported by AdWords API, and unfortunately I

We would like to use the The Ad Preview & Diagnosis Tool to monitor brand

supports. As a workaround (for image ads), you may retrieve the SourceUrl

 of the Image 
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201708/AdGroupAdService.Image>
 using the AdGroupAdService

 to download the image and implement a display feature at your end.

Simulate The Ad Preview Tool

Hi,

I have a list of keywords that I want to make sure are triggering ads, and 
being notified if this is not the case.

The manual process would be to go into the Ad Preview tool and enter them 
one by one to see if I get the green "Yes, your ad is showing for the 
keyword [xxx]". This would need to be done for each keyword and for each 
key location.

What is the best way to do this via AdWords Scripts?

Like ImageAdUrl for 'Image ad' Ad Type?

You could run an ad performance report

 and 
filter by AdNetworkType=SEARCH to find out whether your ad is serving on 
Google Search. The ability to see an ad preview is a UI feature; if you 
want that in your application then you should build that functionality in 
your UI.

Is this still the case today?

I'm currently building a sales support tool and i'm looking to be able to 
detect if a website (in canada) is currently running adwords or not. 

SEMrush and SpyFu does not provide much data from Canadian sites and i've 
experienced 30% succes rate in detections.

I'm looking for alternatives solution to better detect if a website is 
running Adwords.

Ad Preview Type of Query from php

I wonder what kind of API call can be used to execute Adwords Preview type 
of query (adtest=on) from php code?

Hi Thiago,

Perhaps you can include the file type in the image name, so it can be
returned in the ImageAdName column.  If this is not possible then the
only way to get this information would be to retrieve the Image Ad and
read the type.  In v13 this can be found in the Image.type field:
http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/developer/Image.html.  In
v2009 this is in the Image.mimeType field:
http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/v2009/docs/reference/AdGroupAdService.Image.html#mimeType.

I try to return the ImageHostingKey, but this field always return
https://tpc.googlesyndication.com/pagead/imgad?id=XXX where
 is a lot of characters without the extension, so i can't know
if the ad is an swf or jpg.

There is any tip for me?

Have you tried parsing the ImageHostingKey (Image URL) column to
determine the file extenseion?

AdWords API Ad Preview Tool

Adwords API team, is there any plans to include the functionality that
we get from the Google AdWords: Ad Preview Tool into the API?  I think
there would probably be many users out there that would like to know
their positioning at any given time like this tool provides rather
than a cumulative average position for a day you would get from stats
reports.  Thanks for any insight you can provide.
