RE: google ads api search for support to get audience size, reach, demographic, and app install
Hi, Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team. Could you please confirm if you're able to see the audience size, destination (related to the type of Website or Mobile App which Ads are directed to) at ad level in the Google Ads account? If so, please share the uncropped screenshot of the Google Ads account by highlighting the above fields so that we can look for similar fields in the Google Ads API? Also, note that retrieving the 'reach' and 'installs' metrics at ad level is not yet supported in the Google Ads API. I will raise a request for this feature to become available in the Google Ads API. However, I cannot provide a scheduled timeline for its availability in the API. So, I would recommend you to follow our blog post and release notes for future updates. Kindly note that there is no report type for combined age, gender and location report. You can use the age_range_view, gender_view and location_view reports. Additionally, you may check this Query Cookbook which demonstrates how to return the same data as screens in the Google Ads UI. RE: audience targeting in demand gen campaign using ads api
Hi, Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team. Based on the information provided, I understand that you are looking for guidance in targeting the audiences to demand gen campaigns using the Google Ads API. I would recommend you to refer to this 'Target audiences' documentation for more information. You can use the adGroupCriteria method to target the audiences for the demand gen campaign using the Google Ads API. I would recommend you to refer to this help center article as this summarizes which audience segment type is available for each campaign type. We have tried this approach and we were successfully able to attach the audiences to the demand gen campaign using this method. So, I would request you to try and let us know how it goes from your end. However, I am attaching the sample request and response logs for your reference. Re: Google Ads API: missing conversion actions from API call
I’m writing this email to ensure that you received the information I sent to you via Reply via Author. To summarize, I have been using the REST API through JavaScript fetch. All other campaign requests have gone smoothly and returned complete information. The issue arises when I request the list of conversion actions I have in Google Ads, as all ad_impression conversion actions do not appear in the response content. Since the screenshots and code I sent you contain some information that is not convenient to share publicly, I can't include them here. I’m writing this email just so everyone can read and understand that I am still in communication with your support team. :) On Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 7:46:01 PM UTC+7 Google Ads API Forum Advisor wrote: > Hi, > > I can confirm that you are using the correct resource. Re: Google Ads API: missing conversion actions from API call
Hi, I can confirm that you are using the correct resource. You can retrieve details about your existing conversion actions using the conversion_action resource. To assist you further on why a certain conversion action is not fetched via the API, could you provide us with the uncropped UI screenshot (from your Google Ads account) of the conversion action that is present in the UI but are unable to retrieve via the API? Also, send us the complete API logs (request and response with request-id and request header) generated at your end while you execute the below query. If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag. You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email. Re: Google Ads API: missing conversion actions from API call
I am also encountering this issue, specifically as follows: Query: *SELECT conversion_action.name, conversion_action.firebase_settings.event_name, conversion_action.category FROM conversion_action* The returned list contains all conversion actions belonging to categories such as Default, Download, Purchase, AddToCart, BeginCheckOut, PageView, Contact. *BUT, the conversion actions that I see in the Google Ads UI, which belong to the In-app ad revenue category (for example, conversion actions like ad_impression, which are sent from AdMob to Firebase and then imported into Google Ads), do not appear? * I am wondering whether these ad_impression conversion actions belong to the conversion_action table? Account Access in Google Ads API
Hi, I am currently working on a project that integrates the Google Ads API. I have a Google Cloud Console project and access to several manager and sub-accounts with an email address. However, I'm facing an issue with accessing campaign data. Each time I call the /customers:listAccessibleCustomers endpoint using the developer token, I retrieve all accounts associated with my email, but I don't know the account of developer token ( an old teammate left it behind) everytime I try to hit the endpoint for a specific account I am unable to access the campaigns. Instead, I receive the error: *DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED*. I suspect this issue might be related to the manager account not having the necessary permissions or access, but I'm unable to identify which account is associated with the console project. As a result, I am unsure how to modify its access level. Could you please guide me on how to: 1. Identify the manager account linked to my console project. 2. Change or update the account associated with the console project to ensure proper access. -- -- =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ Also find us on our blog: https://googleadsdeveloper.blogspot.com/ =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum" group. RE: google ads api - generatekeywordideas issue
Hi, Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team. Kindly note that the invalid_grant error usually indicates an issue with the refresh token. That said, you’ll need to regenerate credentials and refresh tokens. You may refer here to this guide for the steps on how you can regenerate credentials and refresh tokens. RE: upload call conversions using google ads api v11
Hi, Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team. The Google Ads API v11 is sunset on March 29, 2023. After this date, all v11 API requests will begin to fail. I would suggest you upgrade to the latest version, 'v17', as soon as possible to benefit from new features. You may refer to this documentation on deprecation and sunset for more information regarding the specific deprecation and sunset dates for each available version. You may check this code example to upload call conversions. If you still encounter an error even after upgrading to a newer version, please share with us the updated latest complete API logs (request and response with request-id and request header) generated at your end. Clarification on Implementing Consent for Customer Match for Reporting via Google Ads API and Video Ads via Google Ads Script
*Dear Google Ads API Support Team,* I hope this email finds you well. I am currently using the Google Ads API primarily for reporting purposes, such as retrieving campaign and ad set statistics. Additionally, I am creating Google Video Ads using Google Ads Script. Given the recent updates related to the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and the introduction of the Consent object in Google Ads API v15, I am seeking clarification on the following points: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/14546648 1. *Reporting*: Since I am only using the API for reporting (e.g., fetching campaign and ad set stats), do I need to implement any consent-related changes in my current setup? If so, could you please guide me on how to integrate this into my existing reporting scripts? 2. *Google Video Ads via Ads Script*: I am creating Google Video Ads through Google Ads Script code. How should I implement the new consent requirements in this context? Are there specific API calls or parameters I need to include when creating these ads via Ads Script? I would greatly appreciate detailed guidance on how to comply with the new consent requirements in both scenarios. Additionally, if there are any specific examples or documentation that could help, please do share them. Thank you for your assistance. *Best regards,* *Ashish Chaturvedi* -- -- =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ Also find us on our blog: https://googleadsdeveloper.blogspot.com/ =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum" group. Re: how to get a campaign limited by budget via google ads api?
Hi, Kindly note that BUDGET_CONSTRAINED describes primary status reasons for the campaign. Provides insight into why a campaign is not serving or not serving optimally. These reasons are aggregated to determine an overall CampaignPrimaryStatus. Your bid strategy status shows you issues with your bid strategies that might be affecting your campaign performance. RE: google ads api error - developer token is not allowed with project
Hi, Thank you for contacting the Google Ads API support team. I could see in the provided screenshot that the error message says "Developer token is not allowed with the project". This means the developer token you are using in your request is not associated with the project that you are using in the same request. Each Google API Console project can be associated with the developer token from only one manager account. Once you make a Google Ads API request, the developer token is permanently paired with that project. You can reset a developer token and use it with the project PQRSTUVW, let us know how it goes. I could see that you are facing a PERMISSION DENIED error, which means that the user doesn't have permission to access a specific account. To assist you further, please provide us with an email address used to make API requests and complete API request and response logs with the request ID and request header where you encountered an error. Re: can't update an existing campaign's priority to "low" via the ads api
Thanks for the link to the "Automatic steps" document. The steps described there did not solve the problem, which seems to specifically stem from the setting for "Low" being the integer 0. However, I just figured out a way to make it work -- namely, instead of using the *client.copy_from() *function that I used in the code I shared previously, I manually set the "paths" for the mutate request with a Python dictionary object specifying the fields in question, so that it wouldn't ignore the new value set for "campaign_priority". This is what the modified, successful mutate looks like (updated part is highlighted): *campaign_service = client.get_service("CampaignService")* *campaign_operation = client.get_type("CampaignOperation")* *campaign = campaign_operation.update* *campaign.resource_name = campaign_service.campaign_path(* *googleAdsId, campaignId* *)* *campaign.shopping_setting.campaign_priority = 0* *campaign_operation.update_mask = {* *'paths': ['resource_name', 'shopping_setting.campaign_priority']* *}* *response = campaign_service.mutate_campaigns(* *customer_id=googleAdsId,* * operations=[campaign_operation]* *)* On Monday, July 22, 2024 at 1:05:14 AM UTC-4 Google Ads API Forum Advisor wrote: > Hi, > > Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team. > > I would suggest you refer to the document Automatic steps > <https://developers.google.com/google-ads/shopping/full-automation/articles/t22#automatic_steps> > to > get more information on how to set campaign priority with the Google Ads > API. > > If you are still facing the issues, please share the complete API logs ( > request > <https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/concepts/field-service#request> > , response > <https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/concepts/field-service#response> > , request-id > <https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/concepts/call-structure#request-id> > and request header > <https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/concepts/call-structure#request_headers>) > > generated on your device with us. > > If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I > would request you to enable logging for the specific client library that > you are using. Concerns About Excessive Use of Google Ads API for Ad Group Creation
Hello, I'm currently developing a service that automates Google Ads management based on specific labels and rules. One of our requirements involves frequent creation of new ad groups through the Google Ads API. I have a few concerns regarding this practice: 1. Could excessive use of the API for ad group creation lead to violations of Google's policies? 2. Is there a risk that my account might get flagged or suspended due to the high volume of ad group creations? 3. Are there specific usage limits or best practices I should be aware of to avoid any potential issues? I want to ensure that my use of the API remains compliant with Google's guidelines and avoids any disruptions to my account. Thank you for your assistance. Extract Call_view data via Google Ads API — caller_number
I'm working on a Power BI dashboard with data from Google Ads and Calls. With the help of Google Ads Query Builder, I was able to make a query with the parameters I need from the call_view, but I can't get the caller phone number. I can get a complete report including the caller phone number through the Google Ads account, but as I need automatic updating in Power Bi it has to be done using the API. Can't update an existing campaign's priority to "Low" via the Ads API
I use the Google Ads API Python client library and am having a difficult time setting the campaign priority of an existing campaign to be "Low" (0) via the Ads API. I can change it to "High" (2) but not to "Low". Here's the relevant chunk of my code: *campaign_service = client.get_service("CampaignService")* *campaign_operation = client.get_service("CampaignOperation")* *campaign = campaign_operation.update* *campaign.resource_name = campaign_service.campaign_path(* *customerId, campaignId)* *campaign.shopping_setting.campaign_priority = 0* *client.copy_from(* *campaign_operation.update_mask,* *protobuf_helpers.field_mask(None, campaign._pb),* *)* *campaign_service.mutate_campaigns(customer_id=customerId, operations=[campaign_operation])* I think the issue traces back to the protobuf_helpers.field_mask() function not adding "campaign_priority.shopping_setting" to the paths field of the mutate - the only item that shows up in the paths when my current code runs is "resource_name". Does it read "0" as being a null field? Any suggestions as to how I can make this mutate happen? If this were a one-off I'd do it in the UI, but it's something I'm gonna need to do across a ton of different accounts and campaigns. RE: how to change the email address of the developer token owner for the google ads api
Hi, Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team. Based on the information provided, I understand that you are encountering the invalid_grant error. Kindly note that the invalid_grant usually indicates an issue with the refresh token not with the developer token. That said, you’ll need to regenerate credentials and refresh tokens. RE: issue with local services ads api and the deprecation of lsa's detailed lead report to google ads api
Hi, Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team. Please find the below response for your queries respectively. 1A. We are not the right team answer this query. I would suggest reaching out to the Local Service API support team, as they are better equipped to address your concern. 2A. You mentioned trying the local_services_lead_contact_details field but only getting "Not Set value." This might indicate a misconfiguration or an issue with the data availability in that field. If you have the local_services_lead_contact_details data available but are not getting it while performing the local_services_lead service through the API. Please provide the complete API logs (request and response logs with request-id and request header) generated at your end along with the uncropped UI screenshot to better assist you on this request. Issue with Local Services Ads API and the deprecation of LSA's Detailed lead Report to Google Ads API
Hey there, We just found out that the <https://developers.google.com/local-services-ads/guides/reporting#detailed-lead-reports>main data table <https://developers.google.com/local-services-ads/guides/reporting#detailed-lead-reports> we were leveraging from the LSA API was deprecated and has now been migrated to the Google Ads API. We have a couple of questions related to this migration as some of the Fields which we were leveraging for our client reporting on the deprecated table (the Detailed Lead Table from the LSA API <https://developers.google.com/local-services-ads/guides/reporting#detailed-lead-reports>) are not available on the Google Ads API. 1. Is the Detailed Lead Reports <https://developers.google.com/local-services-ads/guides/reporting#detailed-lead-reports>table going to be completely deprecated? Currently, it is still returning data and we were wondering if this is going to be maintained for the foreseeable future? And if not when is it going to be deprecated? 2. The *consumerPhoneNumber *field from the Detailed Lead Reports <https://developers.google.com/local-services-ads/guides/reporting#detailed-lead-reports>: we haven't managed to retrieve this field on the Google Ads API tables, any suggestions on where we can retrieve this information on the Google Ads API? We were guessing the field local_services_lead_contact_details from the local_services_lead table could possibly be storing this info but it is only returning "Not Set value" This information is key to our clients' reporting and the set of Dashboards we provide to our clients. As of today, the field is still available on the "deprecated" Detailed Lead Report table and we are considering using this to reinstate our data infrastructure. Any suggestion on how we should approach this? Looking forward to your reply!
