Hi David,

Could you confirm if the campaign where you are creating the ad group 
already has a bidding strategy defined in it? If yes, then I'm afraid that 
setting bidding stragtegies from a lower level is no longer supported as of 
version 201705 of the AdWords API. For more information regarding the said 
change, you may refer to this section 

 of 
the bidding strategy 
 guide.

However, if what I mentioned is not the scenario, you may reply via *Reply 
privately to author* and send to me the generated SOAP request and response 
so I can further investigate.

CAMPAIGN_BIDDING_STRATEGY_CANNOT_BE_OVERRIDDEN

Hi,

I'm trying to copy an AdGroup, *inside the same campaign*, and I use the 
same BiddingStrategyConfiguration.
When I try to create the new AdGroup, I get 
a BiddingErrors.CAMPAIGN_BIDDING_STRATEGY_CANNOT_BE_OVERRIDDEN error from 
adwords.

FieldPath: 
'operations[0].operand.biddingStrategyConfiguration.biddingStrategyType'; 
ApiErrorType: 
'operations[0].operand.biddingStrategyConfiguration.biddingStrategyType'; 
Trigger: 'MANUAL_CPC'

My question is: since this is the same exact BiddingStrategyConfiguration 
as another adgroup already has inside the same exact campaign, shouldn't it 
work?

combination you are trying to achieve using the API?

use a flexible bidding strategy at adgroup or criterion level, that is not 
compatible with the campaign's bidding strategy. I don't think we have 
externally documented all the combinations that can cause this error to be 
thrown, but I'll check with the team and let you know.

Hi,

Now I have tried set manual cpc bidding  scheme / Flexible bid strategy for 
keywords and it also shows the same error for all type of campaigns that I 
have in the test account. But it works at adgroups level for the campaigns 
other than Budget Optimizer bidding scheme.

I can't figure out why it is happening.

I am trying to set flexible bid strategy for an adgroup and I got the 
CAMPAIGN_BIDDING_STRATEGY_CANNOT_BE_OVERRIDDEN error. As I checked the 
campaign uses Budget Optimizer bidding scheme and it shows error for the 
adgroups with in that campaign.

I want to know what are the possibilities of getting these errors.
