There is "CALLOUTS" feed placeholder. So it should be possible to manage
callout extensions using FEED services.

UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR retrieving callout extensions

2018-08-24 Thread de Vries,Marcel (GRQ-BGE)
Hi API team,

We're having trouble retrieving callout extensions for one of the Google Ads
accounts managed with our platform. For the last couple of weeks an hourly
retry mechanism has tried to import the data, but without success. Every call
we make is answered with an UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR response, while the
same request made for others accounts works perfectly.

I've attached the soap request and response for examination. Can you please
look into this?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Hi Marcel,

Your SOAP logs looks fine to me. The UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR could be
due to a transient issue. Could you please confirm if you are seeing this
issue on retry? If so, could you give a try with a lesser number of results
like 100? If that request is failing, please share the SOAP logs of that
operation. We should be able to take a closer look with that.

Callout Extensions & Structured Snippet Extensions

2019-06-12 Thread Stuart Hall
We currently deploy new campaigns based on campaign template. When we
create a new campaign, all the links are updated and new extensions are
created. Everything works well except the callout and structured snippet
extensions final URLs do not get changed. My question is:

Where does Google get this final URL from for the Callout Extension and
Structured Snippet Extension?

How do we make sure when we create a new Callout and Structured Snippet
Extension that it uses the new final URL?

Any help on this would be much appreciated! It's driving us a little crazy.

Re: sitelink/callout extensions stats

2017-02-02 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Natalie,

You need to use the Placeholder report

 or Placeholder Feed Item report

 to
retrieve the performance stats of your ad extensions. The Placeholder
report provides statistics per placeholder type and the Placeholder Feed
Item report provides statistics at the feed-item level. You need to use
PlaceholderType

 column
to identify the placeholder type.

RE: Callout Extensions & Structured Snippet Extensions

2019-06-13 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Stuart,

Could you please share details if you're using Google Ads API/AdWords API to
deploy the campaigns? Are the Callout and structured snippet extensions created
through the API? If yes, could you share details on how you're getting the
Final URLs for these along with the client customer Id, to check this further?
You can share the details privately via Reply privately to author option.

Thanks,

get campaign callout extensions via GAQL

2022-09-13 Thread marsel...@gmail.com
Hi, I have some callout extensions, and i can get the list with query:
*SELECT asset.id, asset.resource_name, asset.name, asset.type FROM asset
WHERE asset.type = 'CALLOUT'*
and get result:
*...*
"asset": {
   "resourceName": "customers//assets/xxx",
   "type": "CALLOUT",
   "id": "xx",
   "calloutAsset": {
  "calloutText": "Quick & Easy Setup"
   }
}
...
but how do i get the link list between campaign and my callout extensions?
I tried to use the
method
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v11/campaign_asset_set,
but the result is always empty array.
*SELECT campaign_asset_set.asset_set, campaign_asset_set.campaign,
campaign_asset_set.resource_name, campaign_asset_set.status from
campaign_asset_set*
result: []

Hi there,

You may want to try the campaign_asset resource, the asset_set.type doesn't
show callout extensions and therefore the asset_set cannot have callout
extensions.

Hi,

Yes, you should be able to create 'CALLOUT' extension at AdGroup level. We
dont have a sample for this specific case, but you could refer to this

 example
which is associating 'SITELINK' to a campaign. You will need to modify the
code to use AdGroupExtensionSettingServiceInterface

 instead.
Below is a sample SOAP request log:

Re: Callout extensions: Ad group extension and Ad group extension

2017-01-12 Thread Matthew Wawrin
Hi,

You can use the AdGroupExtensionSettingService similar to how the document
you reference uses the CampaignExtensionSettingService, but instead of
specifying a campaignId, you specify an adGroupId.
See the reference:
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201609/AdGroupExtensionSettingService
and
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201609/AdGroupExtensionSettingService.AdGroupExtensionSetting

I don't believe there's example code specific to adGroupExtensionSetting,
but it's nearly identical to the campaign setting, but with adgroup
substituted for campaign.

Hope this helps.

Re: Callout extensions: Ad group extension and Ad group extension

2017-03-21 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

To create callout extensions at the account level, you'll need to use
CustomerExtensionSettingService
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201702/CustomerExtensionSettingService>
 to
add CalloutFeedItem
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201702/CustomerExtensionSettingService.CalloutFeedItem>s.

The code snippet provided here
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/extension-settings#callout_extensions>
 shows
how to add a CalloutFeedItem at the Campaign level using
CampaignExtensionSettingService
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201702/CampaignExtensionSettingService>.

You'll need to modify this to add a CalloutFeedItem the Customer level
instead.

Regards,
Shwetha, AdWords API Team.

Hi,

You need to set the clientCustomerId in the request header

 to
add an extension at the customer level using CustomerExtensionSettingService
.

You will not be setting the customerId in the CustomerExtensionSetting

 object.
You can programmatically set the clientCustomerId at runtime by following
the instructions provided here

 for
your client library.

Shwetha, AdWords API Team.

Hi,
Thank you for assistance,
this is code snippet that I wrote for adding call out extension for account:

public CustomerExtensionSettingReturnValue
SetAccountCallOutExtention(string customerId, string calloutText)
{
CustomerExtensionSettingService customerExtensionSettingService
=

(CustomerExtensionSettingService)AdwordsUser.GetService(AdWordsService.v201702.CustomerExtensionSettingService);
_customerExtensionSettingService.RequestHeader.clientCustomerId
= customerId;
CustomerExtensionSetting customerExtensionSetting = new
CustomerExtensionSetting
{
extensionType = FeedType.CALLOUT,
extensionSetting = new ExtensionSetting()
{
extensions = new ExtensionFeedItem[]
{
new CalloutFeedItem
{
calloutText = calloutText,
feedType = FeedType.CALLOUT
}
}
}
};

CustomerExtensionSettingOperation customerOperation = new
CustomerExtensionSettingOperation()
{
operand = customerExtensionSetting,
@operator = Operator.ADD,
};

return customerExtensionSettingService.mutate(new[] {
customerOperation });
}

Hi,

As mentioned by my colleague earlier, to include the clientCustomerId in
the request header at runtime, you can programmatically set it by following
the instructions (refer to the section of the language you are using)
provided in this guide

.

For example, if you are using C# for development, then you may set
clientCustomerId programmatically using the Config property of the
AdWordsUser object. Please refer to the sample code below:

AdWordsUser user = new AdWordsUser();
AdWordsAppConfig config = (AdWordsAppConfig) user.Config;

user.Config.clientCustomerId = "";

Hi,
could you help me with API
error ExtensionSettingError.INCOMPATIBLE_UNDERLYING_MATCHING_FUNCTION which
I get always I call the requet to create new callout in Account level.
Everything works great when I create new callout related to AdGroup od
Campaign (Using CampaignExtensionSettingService or
AdGroupExtensionSettingService). But if I use
CustomerExtensionSettingService like this:

// Get CustomerExtensionSettingService
$extensionSettingService =
$this->_getService(cm\CustomerExtensionSettingService::class); // Internal
method to get service correctly

$calloutFeedItem = (new cm\CalloutFeedItem())
->setFeedType(cm\FeedType::CALLOUT)
->setCalloutText('Test Callout');

// Prepare basic data
$extensionSetting = (new cm\CustomerExtensionSetting())
// ->setCampaignId(...) // when I tried to create to AdGroup or campaign
->setExtensionType(cm\FeedType::CALLOUT)
->setExtensionSetting(new cm\ExtensionSetting([$calloutFeedItem]));

// Create operation
$operations = new cm\CustomerExtensionSettingOperation(cm\Operator::ADD, null,
$extensionSetting);

// Add the callout over API to adwords
$result = $extensionSettingService->mutate([$operations]);

there si error Uncaught Google\AdsApi\AdWords\v201702\cm\ApiException:
[ExtensionSettingError.INCOMPATIBLE_UNDERLYING_MATCHING_FUNCTION @
operations[0].operand].

Very straingh weird is that all this works fine in test account... But on
real, production account it throw this error.

Thank you for responses

Using AdGroupExtensionSettingService with a user defined feed for CALLOUT extensions - EntityNotFound.INVALID_ID

2017-01-10 Thread Matthew Wawrin
Hi,

I would like to define a custom feed to manage a list of callout text in a
separate feed than the 'Main Callout Feed' that gets populated by default.
  The intention is so that we can create this feed and use it for adgroups
in specific campaigns, and not fill the main callout feed with those
callouts.

Using the php adwords API, I'm able to create a new feed, populate it with
the feed items we desire, and I created the feed mapping with the callout
placeholder. I can retrieve the FeedId, FeedItemId of the callouts that I
wish to add to a particular adgroup (I have adgroupId). When using
the AdGroupExtensionSettingService I'm getting an error back saying the
feedItemId is not found:

Error
object(SoapFault)#113 (10) {
  ["message":protected]=>
  string(130) "[EntityNotFound.INVALID_ID @
operations[0].operand.extensionSetting.extensions[0].feedItemId;
trigger:'FeedItemId{id=9897330092}']"

I've confirmed that I can use a feedItemId from the 'Main Callout Feed'
with AdGroupExtensionSettingService and add a callout extension
successfully, but when I specify the feedId/feedItemId from my user defined
feed I get the above error.

I was really hoping to use the AdGroupExtensionSettingService instead of
creating a matching function in an adgroupFeedService.

It seems to me that adding Callouts with AdGroupExtensionSettingService is
limited to the feedItems in the 'Main Callout Feed'? Can somebody confirm
this?

Thanks,
Matt.

Hi Matt,

You are correct: you can only use the extension setting services with the
default, system-defined Feed

 for
each placeholder type
.
This will be the feed with origin = ADWORDS

.

If you want to use feed items from a different feed for a particular
placeholder type + campaign or ad group, you will have to use feed services
.

Thanks,
Josh, AdWords API Team
