Hi Team,

we are currently looking for an update on the handling of the opting-out of
the auto-migration. As you outline in your latest blogpost
(https://ads-developers.googleblog.com/2021/06/asset-based-extensions-updated.html)

as well as your description
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/extensions/assets/migrating-extensions#migration_schedule)

you state, that "Instructions for opting out will be provided at a later
date". Can you already share some information regarding the process and/or
when those information will be available?

Thanks,
Guenther

Hi Jinu,

This is true for production accounts also right? I should be able to create
them for production accounts using AssetService?

For now, you may only create Promotion asset based extensions on production
accounts since the *Sitelink, Callout, and Structured Snippet are currently
available to test accounts only.

You may keep an eye on our blog for more updates and announcements on when all

Hi Jinu,

Thank you for the follow up. You may refer below to my responses :

So as you suggested, if we use Feed-based extensions for Sitelink and Callout,
then what happens after the auto migration?

After the auto-migration, your current feed-based extensions will then become
or converted to asset-based.

Will we be able to create new extensions of the same type using Feed-based
extension services?

Moving forward after the said auto-migration, succeeding sitelink and callout
extensions should be created as described here, using the AssetService.

Re: Migrating to Asset-based extensions

2021-05-28 Thread Jinu George
Hi Peter,

I understand that the test accounts usage refer to Asset based extensions.
But the concern I have is with regards to the deprecation of Feed-based
extensions.

There are warnings given in the documentation as follows:

*"Warning: All extensions will soon become Asset-based extensions. You must
update your extensions-related implementations in order to maintain control
of your extensions."*

*"Existing Feed-based extensions will be automatically copied into
Asset-based extensions on specific dates. We recommend performing the
migration process yourself through the Google Ads API using the steps in
this guide.*
*All Feed-based extensions will be unlinked from any customer, campaign, or
ad group after the automatic migration and will no longer serve."*

*"Warning: All existing Feed-based extensions will be automatically
migrated on the Auto Migration dates. Remove Feed-based extensions once
migrated to prevent multiple occurrences of the same extension."*

So as you suggested, if we use Feed-based extensions for Sitelink and
Callout, then what happens after the auto migration?
Will we be able to create *new extensions* of the same type using *Feed-based
extension services*?

The Sitelink, Callout, and Structured Snippet types indicated in the

may use the feed based extensions. Those should then be automatically migrated

Migrating to Asset-based extensions

2021-05-27 Thread Jinu George
Hi,

The documentation guide for AdExtensions mentioned that all Feed-based
extensions will be migrated to Asset-based extensions in batches.
According to the migration guide Callout, Sitelink and Structured Snippet
extensions will be auto migrated on Oct 20, 2021.

https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/extensions/assets/migrating-extensions#migration_schedule

However, it's also given that "**Sitelink, Callout, and Structured Snippet
are currently available to test accounts only.*"

We are currently using v7 of the google ads API and we are planning on
supporting the creation of the above-mentioned extensions, including
Location extensions, for production accounts.

I am not sure if I've misunderstood something here or not, but it is not
clear on how to proceed with this? Do we create these extensions using the
old Feed-based extension services or the new Asset-based extension
services?
If we use the Feed-based extension services, then how will it be impacted
after the auto-migration dates?

Can you please help me in understanding the changes mentioned in the doc?
