Yes, the user's access levels should be the same in both the UI and the API. If 
you would like to read more about managing access levels via API, you can also 
take a look at this guide.

Danica thank you. Adding to the UI for edit access makes total sense. So if 
that user has read-only access to the UL does that mean it applies when 
they access the API?

Hi Joey,

You can grant access to your Google Ads account via UI by following the steps 
in this support article. Once you grant access to your client account, you can 
edit the access level to the level that best suits the client's needs. In this 
case, if you only want your clients to be able to get reporting information, 
you should provide them “Read-only” access.
