Re: Returning % values as float like 0.026166... rather than string like '2.62%' in AdHoc reporting
Hi, I see what you are saying. I would imagine this change was made to make the API and the UI return more consistent results. We received similar feedback regarding making reports more machine readable (for example, but removing the % symbol from the output). I'll be sure to convey this feedback to the core engineering team. Do your clicks divided by impressions match this rate? If so, you might want to consider using that as a workaround until we can improve this behavior. - Kevin Winter AdWords API Team On Saturday, February 18, 2012 10:00:49 PM UTC-5, Malks wrote: Hi Kevin, This was a report from the UI in the old version of the MCC Client Reporting. We used to have a scheduled report sent via email in XML format which we would then process. The old version of the reports would have: row date=2012-01-31 ctr=0.048712206047032476/ That is the ctr is a ratio rather than a percentage string. Now ctr comes through (and this is represented similarly in the API) as: row day=2012-01-20 ctr=2.57%/ So yes, the current UI and the API match, but there seems to have been a change to percentage formats and, you could argue, a loss of accuracy. Hi, Was this a recent report using the UI or one of the MCC (or legacy) reports that recently were shut down? Could you elaborate on how you got this report? We do strive to make the API match the current UI where possible, but sometimes it's not possible to always mimic the UI without breaking automated processes. - Kevin Winter AdWords API Team On Thursday, February 16, 2012 9:49:46 PM UTC-5, Malks wrote: Hi Kevin, I was picking apart an emailed report actually.
