support for oAuth2 when run as a windows service

2021-09-08 Thread Brian Maynard
Hi,

I've been trying to get this to work now for about a week. I am now so
confused as to how this works.

I am writing a windows service that will upload audience lists. But as a
windows service. It will run without supervision. But when I try to do the
OAuth. ( I have the ClientID and ClientSecret). It redirects me to a web
page where I must authenticate the user.

Can you please point me in the right direct where, Once I authenticate
using the ClientID and ClientSecret I get the token returned and not have
to do more authentication?

Thanks

Hi Chris,

As I mentioned earlier, we don't have any AdWords API specific
documentation available yet for OAuth support. The scope is "https://
{server}/api/adwords/", where {server} is either "adwords.google.com"
or "adwords-sandbox.google.com".

Best,
- Eric

Hi Eric,

I meant in the context of the AdWords API. There is no AdWords scope
listed in the OAuth Playground:
http://googlecodesamples.com/oauth_playground/

The GA API has documentation on authentication
http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/gdata/gdataAuthentication.html
I am looking for the equivalent documentation for the AdWords API.

Thanks,

Re: support for oAuth2?

2010-12-07 Thread AdWords API Advisor
Hi Daniel, Chris,

The AdWords API currently has support for OAuth 1.0, although there
are still some aspects that require a ClientLogin auth token (namely
the report download servlet and in LocationSyncExtension). We are
working to ensure that OAuth can be used everywhere, and we're
discussing the idea of adding OAuth 2.0 support as well. We don't
have documentation yet regarding OAuth support, but we wanted to
release this functionality in the PHP client library to get some early
adopters and feedback. The maintainers of the other client libraries
have it on their roadmap to add support as well, but if you need it
sooner you may want to take a crack at implementing it yourself.

Best,
- Eric Koleda, AdWords API Team

Oauth support was added to the PHP client library in version 2.3.0
released Sep 15, 2010 (according to the CHANGELOG).

It's documented in the PHP client library README:
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-php/source/browse/trunk/README

And you can read the source for an example:
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-php/source/browse/trunk/examples/Other/UseOAuth.php

All fine for PHP users.

I'd like to use OAuth2 for a Ruby implementation of access to the
AdWords API. I'm happy to make my code available as open source. Just
would like to know if OAuth2 will work (good support in the Rails
community) or is this only OAuth v1 (in which case
there's less support).

Interesting. If the API supports OAuth, that should be documented in
the API. But I can't even find a page on authentication in the docs.

support for oAuth2?

2010-12-06 Thread Daniel Kehoe
I see that the PHP client library now has support for authentication
using OAuth (as an alternative to Google Client Login).

Is this OAuth or OAuth2? Is there support for OAuth2?

I ask because I'm developing in Ruby and we have some nice libraries
(rubygems) to easily implement OAuth2 (but not OAuth v1). I'd like to
use OAuth2 instead of the Google Client Login to avoid the need to
cache and refresh the AdWords API access authorization token.
