Re: [AFMUG] Federated Wireless SAS outage?

I think maybe they use AWS for DNS, but that Cloudflare is doing attack
mitigation for AWS.

cloudflare DNS tell us to go ask AWS DNS for how to resolve

tell us to only cache these NS records for 5 min.. so there’s our problem.

5 min of cloudflare being unresponsive and we’re toast for valid cnmaestro SAS

Our Google SAS also went offline. Whatcha wanna bet CNMaestro hard codes

Gonna have to do some tcpdumps to verify.

Really. It's the beauty of living on a peninsula between two large bodies of
water. It rarely gets too hot or too cold here. On "hot" days, we usually just
keep the windows closed until about 2PM when the ocean breeze kicks in. Then we
open the windows up to let the cool air flow through.

Really. It's the beauty of living on a peninsula between two large bodies of
water. It rarely gets too hot or too cold here. On "hot" days, we usually just
keep the windows closed until about 2PM when the ocean breeze kicks in. Then we
open the windows up to let the cool air flow through.

Re: [AFMUG] OT: Switching Home to Grid Tied Solar

2020-07-17 Thread chuck

I have 3 - 3 ton AC units.
I averaged 2300 kWh/month (during the pre solar days. )

My first home, 10x50 single wide would use 500 kWh per month. Electric heat.
So roughly 1 kWh per square foot.

US DOE estimates commercial buildings run 22 kWh per square foot.
Alberta Canada, 1800 square foot home averages 4.61 kWh per square foot.

My current home and garage are pretty large.
I averaged 170 watt hours per square foot pre solar.

We use our windows to cool the house in the summer.

No. We heat with propane. In fact, we do use a fair amount of
propane. We cook with propane, we dry clothes with propane, we
heat water with propane, we heat the house with propane. That
said, they only fill the tank twice a year, and we don't need a
full tank when they do it.

What
