Re: [AFMUG] Hmmm: 10Gbps @ 10Km

2019-10-01 Thread Joseph.Schraml

SIAE has an antenna that combines our 10Gb 80 GHz ALFOPlus80HDX radio with our
dual-carrier 18 or 23 GHz ALFOlus2 radio.

Yields 10 Gbps using the 80 GHz radio with 2 Gbps using the 18 GHz radio (with
2x80 MHz carriers/XPIC)

...best part is it's NOT a failover, rather the radios aggregate traffic at
Layer1. One 10 Gbe fiber from the radio to your switch/router.

Stop by booth 643 at WISPAPAlooza and take a look...

Thanks,

Definitely. If you need 10 gig, 5ghz probably isn't very useful.
Is there anything that can do 80ghz and 11/18ghz with the same dish?

well, they're aren't making any claims about availability here, so I'd say this
is actually fairly honest. If they were say "10Gbps at 10 KM and 99.999%
availability!", then yeah... of course plenty of companies do that kind of
thing, afterall, you can do any two of those things with these radios/dishes.

I don't see any reason you couldn't do 10Gbps at 10km with these radios...
granted aligning them would probably be a nightmare, and most of us probably
don't have much use for a link with less than 99% availability, but I imagine
somebody does.
