It was just pulled into the shops for asbestos abatement and cleanup. It will never run again, but it will look much better and be available to get closer to. I use the never run again because that's what people said about 4014 and hope that my reverse logic works on 4012 too!!! I went when it was just here in west Chicago. I was not prepared for the size of it when you stand next to it. Unfortunately I didn't get to see it running. When my kids were little, we would take them to the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL.
