Subject: [AFMUG] LTE routers.

I am hunting for an LTE router for travel. I looked at the Mikrotiks
and was a little disappointed in the channel limitations. Anyone made
this chase before and come up with a good answer? I currently have
sims for Verizon, Sprint, and OTR mobile... ORT is currently T-Mobile...

We went to T-Mobile store with Cradlepoints...told what we wantedkid
installed a SIM cards...registered them on their system...I connected to
WiFi on Cradlepoint and confirmed their IP on What's My IP and then a few
speed tests.

Jaime,

How are you getting T-Mobile unlimited for $45 per month? They don't seem
to have an unlimited plan for hotspots or data only sim's.

We have had really good luck with Pepwave. Theirs works with any carrier.
The SOHO version is only $175. If you want something really compact the BR1
series is the industrial version. It is tiny and a little more expensive
running between $250 and $550 depending on what you want. The BR1 compares
more directly with the Cradlepoint and a closer price point to it as well.
Just another option that works really well.

I was told we get AT&T for $10/month with a very limited data plan.  We
use it for generator management and OOB access.   I don't pay those
bills, so I couldn't say what the final bill is with fees, but it's what
I was told.
