[AFMUG] 450m Pictures Needed

2016-12-16 Thread Matt Mangriotis
Now that folks are getting their 450m APs and starting to deploy them, I would
really love to get some high resolution images of cnMedusa in the field. You
can send them directly to me or post them in our forum.

Pictures that we can use will get a shirt and/or hat sent back...

Thanks!

I found a "Brand X" POE adapter with an output of:
54V - 1.5A (80W)+ on (1,2) (4,5) and - on (7,8) (3,6)

Is this a sufficient POE? Found them for $29.00

15.0.1 release notes:

450 SM's running 13.2.1 (or older) will not register to a 450m AP. As of
7th November
2016, some SM's are still being factory shipped with 13.2.1 code.
Although this is being
corrected to ship with newer software, any SM's received that are
intended for

deployment on a 450m will have to be bench upgraded prior to deployment.

[AFMUG] Powerline adapters

2016-12-16 Thread Travis Johnson

Hi,

I just received some Powerline adapters from TP-Link off Amazon. I think
they were $38 for two single port units. Literally a 10 second setup and
they are working perfectly.

This was for an 1,800sqft office space that had so much 2.4ghz noise
(over 30 Wifi names show up on a scan) that even inside a wide open
office, the coverage was terrible.

Just wanted to share... Powerline stuff has come a long way in the last
3-4 years. :)

I picked up some units from Monoprice a few months back - they also work
pretty well.

Hi,

I just received some Powerline adapters from TP-Link off Amazon. I think
they were $38 for two single port units. Literally a 10 second setup and they
are working perfectly.

This was for an 1,800sqft office space that had so much 2.4ghz noise (over
30 Wifi names show up on a scan) that even inside a wide open office, the
coverage was terrible.

Just wanted to share... Powerline stuff has come a long way in the last 3-4
years. :)

[AFMUG] Just got my 1st set of Siklu 5500d. Now what?

2016-12-16 Thread Sam Lambie
Well I logged into the ftp section of siklu's site looking for a manual,
firmware updates if needed and any other pertinent info. Nada, Zip, Zilch
I guess this product is so new, that they haven't even posted anything on
their site about it.
Does anyone have a contact that I can talk to by chance on how best to
implement this bad boy?
I can get into it and play with it no problem, just looking for any tips on
them.
Thanks
Sam

have used on several occasions, always works well

They use the neutrals for half the signal so it tends to work on both legs.

ive been thinking about getting into these for installers to use. Do they use
the mechanical ground or what or do they still have to be on the same leg in
the panel?
