To be fair by the time Cambium (really Motorola) gave up there was very little
point left in it. Having a 450AP slow down enough to talk to a 2X FSK radio
at 14Mbps meant you might as well not put up a 450AP.We are finding it
painful to have 430SM’s on 450 AP’s for the same reason and are having to pull
those off the network due to the capacity hit on the AP’s. It’s nice that we
can do that gradually, but there is no way I would want to have FSK SM’s on a
450i or 450m AP.

[AFMUG] Generic LTE CPEs used with Baicells, Telrad etc.

2018-03-13 Thread Paul McCall
What CPEs are you using on the LTE gear? From most powerful to most
cost-effective?

We are using the ones that Baicells sells with their gear, but looking to
sharpen our pencil on the scenario as we have a couple hundred users to roll
out in the next 90 days. (hopefully)

Has anyone pulled some in from China directly? We have some experience with
importing "widgets" from China, so that would be quite appealing, if anyone has
experience with that

Re: [AFMUG] Employee Birthdays

2018-03-13 Thread Sean Heskett
we used to take everyone out for lunch and have all the staff sign a card
but once you have more than 6-8 employees that becomes unmanageable and you
are constantly taking everyone out etc.

we switched to giving everyone a PTO day that they can use (there's no
restrictions on when they can use the day)

works a lot better!
