Re: [AFMUG] RF Calibration Failure ADI Catalina R0 chip not supported!

2018-03-23 Thread Jacob Barnard

Hey Andreas,

What Firmware version are you running?  Cambium had an FPGA fix
implemented for some of the fail cases of this nature with these in
v14.1.2(+).  If you're already deployed with that or higher, however,
you're quite unfortunately looking at a chipset defect which you will
have to RMA replace.

Is charging for it off the table?

In my experience people are a lot more willing to protect it if they get
charged every time the dog chews on it.

Yeah, some people are freaky good at that. I got in a snowball fight
with a varsity pitcher. That kid could land one right in your face from
two driveways over.probably 70-100 yards.

I throw like a girl, so it was very one sided.

Plus how good their arm is... I knew a kid in high school who could
throw strikes with a hardball at 300 feet.

I've heard there is a formula to determine how far from a tower
someone

can be to be safe from objects that are dropped. You know, wrenches
etc. Can anyone give me some quick guidance?

[AFMUG] LIST BEING SLOW - VERY SLOW...

2018-03-23 Thread Paul McCall
Guys,

Over the weekend, we became aware that the list has been very slow. We are
digging in this AM as we all had a busy weekend here. It appears that there
might be some form of attack against the list from overseas.

Steve, who did you tick off?

Anyway, we will get it figured out and back to normal. Of course, by the time
you see this, you probably wont know that we are working on it.

2018-03-23 Thread Adam Moffett
Run a stick of 3/4" PVC conduit through a table saw to make a slot in
one side. Depending on your kerf, make a second pass to widen the slot
so a cable fits easily into your slot.

Cut off short sections to use for weed whacker and/or chew prevention.
Slip the cable into the slot, secure it with standard conduit straps.

Cheap.

consumption at a tower should be pretty constant unless you have a
lot of HVAC turning on and off.

here's a good cacti template

Re: [AFMUG] 8 hours no lunch

2018-03-23 Thread Mark Radabaugh
That’s the way an industrial panel should look. I would reject any panel that
came in with wire ties bundling cable rather than duct. If anything I might
have added another horizontal run above the PULS UPS.

Control panels always end up with changes in the field. With wire ties the
first change means the wire ties get cut and the panel turns into a rats nest.
It’s bad enough that the first electrician that opens that panel is going to
throw all those pretty covers on the bottom of the panel and leave them there.
