Tik-App works flawlessly the last few months. Everything loads up great.

My only complain is the icon gets repeated a dozen or two times on a sub
menu (why have an icon?)

Chromebooks (and Chromebox) are essentially a browser-based device. Not
really intended to keep very muchon the box itself. Most things are
expected to be in the cloud.

That said, the newer ones ca run Android apps.So you should be able to
run SSH and other stuff just like your Android phone. There are also a few
hacks to run Linux, or even windows.

Would be really cool if there was a version of winbox that could run
 on Android/Chromebook.

Mikro Winbox
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.birkot.mikrowinbox.pro

works well for my purposes (mainly rebooting my home mokrotik and changing
the encryption)

but all the menus appear to be there

 chipset is supported.

It's browser only, and they only recently implemented offline app mode.

There is ssh. USB Ethernet dongles work, but make sure the dongle chipset
is supported.

You can also run Linux on them via sdcard.

[AFMUG] ChromeBook

2017-09-05 Thread Matt
Anyone using a Chromebook? I got an ASUS chromebook to try. The 16G
of flash seems quite limiting. Thought I would be able to get apps
for things like SSH, Dropbox and etc. Thought it would be like
Android phone of sorts. Seems like everything only works in browser
though.

Anyone else using one? How is it working out?
