Re: [AFMUG] 15.0.2 on 450i / 900mhz

2017-01-10 Thread Brandon Yuchasz
Matt,
I can create self interference on my 450i 900mhz by not using colocation
settings on my FSK that is 16 miles away so I would suspect that the frame size
was important. I can cause issues just by not matching up closely enough on
download % and so on as outlined in the white paper. That not to say that
15.0.2 didn’t help it certainly could have as well. We upgraded a few nights
ago and I did see re-reg issues go away but other than noticing that and making
sure its been stable I have not looked deeper into if it improved anything
else. Utilazation was on issue on one AP I should look and see if its improved
at all. Love to hear others feedback on this.

Ill be sharing some FSK / 450i issues I have discovered after I get one more
late night to verify what I am seeing.

Brandon

We also noticed an improvement when we moved from 2.5ms to 5.0ms frame size and
upgraded too 15.0.2 at same time. Was not sure which did it.
Is Canopy 900 FSK 5ms frames? But our nearest FSK gear was like 10 miles away.

Yes, 5 ms. We also have nearest competitor FSK 900 is 10 miles away, and
absolutely we had to tweak all the parameters to sync with it, otherwise we had
poor modulation and reregs.

That's what I thought. But we verified it with linktests and speedtests.
Not to mention session uptimes went from re-reging multiple times a day to
rock-solid.

No configuration or frequency changes. Just firmware upgrade. I'm hoping
that v15 firmware will bring some improvements to our 5ghz 450 AP's.

FYI...the 15.0.2 upgrade made substantial improvements for our testing. It's
only 6 subs but the utilizations and link stability have improved dramatically.
You can probably see on the attachment when the upgrade took place.

Anyone out there seeing any improvements with the 15.0.2 code for the 5ghz
450's?
