Yes. They are cheap and I guess they perform well.

But we’ve seen even with a lot of frequency separation our B5s are hurt
by colocated radios. Support tells us to separate the radios by at least
3 meters.

If you can separate them enough you’ll sure be happy with them.

There are tons of use for this radio. The radio pushes about 450mbps with no

I’m planning on upgrading a bunch of Nanostations that are doing nothing but
that on short range links. Even without sync, there is a boatload of 5GHz
spectrum, and in many cases, if you are afraid of the interference, just move
it to a different wall. I’ve got a B5 and B5-Lite on the same pole within 5’

Hi,

just got the availability anouncement.

I do not see the point of B5 Lite for a Wisp. It is a single .ac radio like
UBNT or MT without sync or filtering.
But if it shows the same level of colocation interference problems as B5 does
(you have to separate
it 3m from other gear or modulations goes down) it cant compete with e.g.
PowerBeam M5 AC ISO.

If it was syncable somehow with B5 so you can colocate B5 and B5 lite it would
make sense to me.
So a B5 lite with this form factor, one radio and GPS …

But I guess this is the same HW as planned for the PTMP CPE so they have to
develop this gear anyway.

I see it being a good product for less than a mile shot to connect
buildings together. So like a business needs a high bandwidth connection
without putting in fiber, we could use the B5-Lite which still has auto
channel and it would provide up to 750 Mbps aggregate throughput for under
$300 for a link. It has its place but I agree it is not on a tower. But for
building to building applications, it should work great since you can leave
auto everything on and not have to worry about the channel being fixed and
then having interference roll in.

they are both rocking along. The B5 is shooting about 2.7 miles so it’s

5.1Ghz but with the 600MHz spread, doesn’t seem to be an issue.

We see mixed results with B5 with other 5GHz gear on the same tower.

Lower modulations than expected. Radar events with new firmware (mimosa is

Does the B5 lite show the same?

As it does not gps-sync with B5 it will behave like foreign gear to a B5.

So no good idea to colocate B5 and B5-lite?

You lucky US guys. No 5.1 here. 5.2 limited to 200mW EiRP and indoor usage.

Only 5.6 and 5.8 available. So we have no chance to get a big spread.

I have a B5 on the same 8' pole so the radios are about 4' apart. Since the B5
is running in 5.1GHz, I put the B5-Lite at 5.8GHz. I'm not seeing a problem,
they are both rocking along. The B5 is shooting about 2.7 miles so it's
cranked up. The B5-Lite Spectrum analyzer is showing the B5's at about 60dB in
5.1Ghz but with the 600MHz spread, doesn't seem to be an issue.

We see mixed results with B5 with other 5GHz gear on the same tower.

Lower modulations than expected. Radar events with new firmware (mimosa is
working on this).

Does the B5 lite show the same?

As it does not gps-sync with B5 it will behave like foreign gear to a B5.

So no good idea to colocate B5 and B5-lite?
