It is a weird blend with caucus actually doing the work but supposedly there is a concurrent primary. I don’t understand it. California has an open primary, except that the republican party chose to not participate. Can you vote Dem if registered Rep? Can you vote Rep if registered Dem? Each state is very different, and these are important things to be aware of as they drastically effect the end numbers. True, but my point is that even though Trump lost very badly, there were still a lot more people supporting him than supported Clinton. If Sanders did somehow manage to become the nominee, I think there is a chance he could win Utah though.
