BUS: Fwd: OFF: Fwd: [dicelog] Selection of Comptrollor

2020-01-01 Thread Jason Cobb via agora-business
I deliver the below forwarded message, authored by Murphy, to all
players. I note that the authenticity of this message can be verified at
[0].

[0]:
https://mailman.agoranomic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/private/agora-official/2019-December/013299.html

I CFJ: "The sending of this message (the entire message, not the
enclosed message) caused the Officeholder of Comptrollor to be flipped."

Evidence:

{

CFJ 1905, available at
https://faculty.washington.edu/kerim/nomic/cases/?1905 .

}

Arguments:

{

If the enclosed message was already successful in flipping the
Officeholder of Comptrollor, this CFJ is trivially FALSE.

Per CFJ 1905, "sent via a Public Forum" means that the Public Forum in
question must "re-send the message to a reasonably large subset of the
set of all persons who have reasonably arranged to receive messages via
that Public Forum".

In this message, the Public Forum, if it functions properly, is sending
the enclosed message to all persons who have subscribed. Thus the
enclosed message fulfills the requirement in CFJ 1905 for being "sent
via a Public Forum", and can take by announcement actions. The enclosed
message fulfills the requirements for random choices because it has a
uniform distribution and was not predictable by Murphy at the time that
e sent the message to the forum.

}

I earn 5 Coins for this week's Registrar report.
I earn 5 Coins for this week's Treasuror report.

Disclaimer: the following two actions might fail, since the reports in
question were published around 00:03 and 00:22 UTC on December 28,
which is in the range of time when the lists were having trouble.

I earn 5 Coins for last week's Registrar report.
I earn 5 Coins for last week's Treasuror report.

CoE on the below report: it may be wrong, since the assumptions stated
in the disclaimer may be wrong.

I respond to this CoE by citing CFJ 3783 (which is about Jason Cobb's
18000 Coins). I'm hoping the other ambiguities will be resolved over
the next few weeks by legislation and/or ratification.

BUS: rant

2020-01-01 Thread Kerim Aydin via agora-business

Dear lord - all the messages are in the archives and any officer can find
them - can we just ratify that those messages HAPPENED instead of undoing
them. It seems much more complications otherwise and the only thing I can
find to really argue for undoing stuff is Aris's complaint about the P.M.
election. Having an election turn out slightly unfairly seems a lot less
work and trouble than undoing stuff - I'm so sorry one deadline happened
unfairly but it seems a lot of work to try to undo that when an alternative
it just to ratify that we can re-do that one election.

A ratification of "all those messages were delivered as indicated in the
archives" would be much simpler than an un-do and I'm not included to
support anything else.

I object to all intents to ratify documents.

Disclaimer: the following might fail because I am probably not Prime Minister.

I resign as Prime Minister.

I think Murphy can now clear things up by repeating eir message
resolving the original ongoing election as FAILED QUORUM and starting
a new election.
