Removing the victory point award in order to support stones, available only to highest bidder, is a step in the wrong gerontocratic direction, IMO. Further, 1 or 2 accumulated VPs can be an important stopper for the win condition (it was in the calculations for the last win, anyway). Net result: easier wins for the rich officeholders, harder for others. -G.
