The Distributor, who has the technical responsibility for ensuring that
public messages get seen by everyone, has been known to dabble with
that from time to time (because the time of an event mostly depends on
when people get to observe it, which the Distributor is in control of).
I think there was once an aborted attempt to change the message headers
to indicate the actual date at which it was distributed. As it is, when
the exact time of an event becomes important, we check various people's
email headers to see the timings involved, and then argue (via CFJ or
otherwise) about which timestamp is the correct one to use.

Is there a Rule that says you can't bid if you don't have the money?
R2550 (Bidding) says: "A person SHALL NOT bid on an Auction if it
would be impossible for em to pay that amount at the conclusion of the
Auction." which, if I understand right, makes your action ILLEGAL if
can find the money in the next few hours, but not unsuccessful.

I really don't think this is IRRELEVANT, as breathing could be replaced

I put DISMISS in there because I think an argument could be made that

I cfj the following :

"There was only
one valid bid, namely for 1 coin by CuddleBeam."

Argument against :

Trigon bid 2 Mexican pesos.
Mexican pesos are coins.
Valid currency for this auctions is coins

Since Trigon bid two coins, and nowhere was it stated that the only legal
tender was an AGORAN coin, I argue that there were TWO valid bids.

If this is accepted, {

{ I cfj the following:

"Trigon is the winner of the auction"

Trigon bid two coins, which is more than CuddleBeam bid.
The highest bidder wins the auction.
Therefore Trigon wins the auction.

That sounds like the beginning of a thesis. But anyway.

In my opinion it’s Wikipedia mentioning them because they are still around. The
easiest thing to do would be
a. check the modification records from Wikipedia (I assume that's
possible because it's all meant to be transparent, right?) and see when they
were first mentioned
b. Check when Wikipedia itself was founded. It's possible that Agora
and BlogNomic are older than Wikipedia (anybody?)

Theory: the fact that Agora and BlogNomic are by far the longest- lasting
nomics is connected to the fact that they're the only ones referenced from
Wikipedia. (That said, the causality may be reversed, i.e. they may have been
referenced from Wikipedia due to being long- lived rather than vice versa.)

Actually it was a good friend of mine who is a sort of board game nerd. He has
a little nomic which he plays with a few friends and invited me to join in.
Whilst checking out what nomics actually are, I found the Wikipedia page, which
talks about Agora being the biggest nomic still running. And I thought, Hey...
Why not?

I'm not sure what I'll actually get up to here, but definitely a bit of Spaaace
at least :D

Welcome Baron! I'm quite curious, how did you find Agora?
