Ugh.  I have no idea what qmail is doing.  Replying now in the
off-chance it works after upgrading even more packages; otherwise I'll

So... to be more specific, when Googling the issue, a known qmail
issue with DNS responses over 512 bytes came up, but I thought it
wasn't that, because when attempting to do the resolution for
u.washington.edu I didn't get more than 512 bytes.  But upon trying
again, I do indeed, so I guess there's some strange difference between
DNS servers and the bug is indeed that one.  I think I just need to
apply the relevant qmail patches.

If I don't send another message, then this message successfully
delivered to both players with the CNAME issue - you and x1122334455.

For the record, I don't see how this could actually be related to the
previous downtime, but perhaps I'm missing something (DNS caching?).

Everything I was missing came is coming through in a slow stream.  I
don't know if you're doing that manually or just freed up a dam.
