Have you tried uninstalling the program and then reinstalling it? Sometimes 
that helps. It's possible that maybe the program ggot corrupted or something.

Hi. 

The only way I can now pause playback of a recording is to go into VLC's menus. 
Alt-p won't work to resume play, so I need to go back into the menus to do that 
as well. 

Moving forward and backwards with the arrow keys works fine. 

Any ideas how I can get the spacebar back to pausing?

John's right. GoldWave is good too, although I believe you have to purchase
that one as aposed to Audacity which is free. GoldWave from what I can tell
from listening to other tutorials that people have made with it, it seems

editor Audacity? I often refer to it as a word document in audio format,
because of the way you edit files with it. Just like Word, you have to
select text prior to deleting or changing it in any way. Audacity is free
and easy to use, and is very friendly with Jaws. You say the first 4 minutes
of your file is blank? No problem. With audacity, all you have to do, is
find the spot in the file where the audio starts, press the left bracket to
put a placemarker there, press shift J to select everything from the
placemarker back to the left, then press control K to delete the silence.

use Audacity for my production work with Sonic Radio. You can get a copy of
the software from ninite.com. Here's the link:

When you installed it, did it put an icon on your desktop? Most programs
will either ask us if we want to create an icon for the desktop or sometimes
they'll just give you one automaticly.

Highlight that .exe file in your downloads folder then hit the applications
key then arrow to run as administrator. Enter on that and see if it will let
you install it.

Okay...problem solved (I think) instead of using the file menu, I went to
the applications key, where I found "run as administrator!  So my next
question is, how do I find the program?  When I type in the name of the
program in the start menu, all it seems to want to do is give me where I can
find it "on the web!"  No no...not what I want; I want Windows to tell me
where it is on my computer, so I can use it!

Hafve you tried installing it as administrator? I am still using windows 7
so don't know if they have done away with that in later versions. In Windows
7 on the install file hit the applications key and arrow down to the items
that mentions the administrator.

Do you get the user account control prompt at any point duringt he
instalation attempt?
Does your user account have the ability to gain aeleated/admin privileges?
Try hitting crl-shift-enter ont eh installer when you run it instead of just
pressing enter; see if it makes a difference.

wavepad. According to nch, it can be used to split mp3 files as well.

Hello boys and girls young and older alike! It's Santa Mike here and I'm
back with even more goodies. This is my third annual holiday program with
ACBRI, and I'm sending you your very own  personal invitation. Yep, it's
another 4 hour episode of The Best Of Yesterday and Today, and just as a
brief reminder, it all starts this Friday afternoon at 2:pm Eastern, 1:pm
Central, 12 noon Mountain, and 11:a.m Pacific. Four full hours of all your
favorite Christmas tunes and favorite classic holiday stories back to back.
All are welcome.  We still got that classic golden drama to which we still
haven't gotten the chance to play yet, which dates all the way back to
December 24, 1939, entitled A Christmas Carol starring Orson Welles and
Lionel Barrymore, along with a few of those classic read-along stories many
of you probably listened to as kids. DJ Sparrow (aka my friend Jay), and his
girlfriend Anita, (we call her DJ Queen), will be joining me in the studio
So come and join us won't you? This is going to be a fun-filled joyous
program for the entire family! So come one, come all, And join me, Mike B
and my friends Jeremy and Anita, for this very special extended edition of
The Best Of Yesterday and Today. Requests for your favorite holiday tunes
