Eric, since you seem to be the de facto organizer of Mac porting right now, I
wanted to make sure this bug/fix is on your radar.

(Dan, sorry for the extra bugspam; I should have done this last night but wasn't
thinking on all cylinders then...)

In zh_TW locale, there are many input methods use Enter key to commit
converted strings. But Open Office interprete Enter key first by their
self and ignore the commit request comes from Input Method Engine.
This is not good.

Excel allows

  =PMT(8,10,1,,0)

treating the empty 4th argument as 0. Calc gives an error for the equivalent
formula.

Excel's behaviour is consistent with the documentation at

  http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP052092151033.aspx

have a scrollbar like Graphics tab? Because in Bulgarian we use latin and
cyrillic numbering and they will become more than 8.

This issue is invalid.

This is an intended ( announced on both website as well as project_leads
mailinglists) change in the behaviour of the project_tools.html file in your
repository.

Old behaviour:
 * links in your project_tools.html were /added/ to the generic project-tools
New behaviour:
 * links in your project_tools.html now /replace/ the generic project-tools.

So if you want the generic project tools, you have to add it to your
project_tools.html file.

Here's an example project_tools.html that will use the default layout (you are
free what html you include in there):

div class=labelstrongHeading/strong/div
div class=body
  divlink1/div
  divlink2/div
/div
div class=body
  divlink3/div
  divlink4
divsublink1/div
divsublink2/div
  /div
/div

This will result in:

*Heading*
-link1
-link2

-link3
-link4
  -sublink1
  -sublink2

Hyperlinks _are_ relative to the actual document position in the file system, we
only have several issues concerning problems that hyperlinks become absolute if
you save the document (or do something else).

So I do not understand your problem. bjlockie , could you please
- explain the problem some more exactly
- contribute a more meanignful summary for this issue

Created a new DB with 3 BigInt: All definitions and the key
(autoincrement)checked: OK
Saved, Quit. (I don't trust Base... :-)
After reOpen: The 3 BigInt's have changed to length zero, No AutoInc of key.
No chance to change this behaviour, but a newly inserted BigInt has a usual
length of 19.

I haven't noticed this issue in 1.1.4 but I have certainly noticed it in 2.0
Beta! It annoyed me so much, I went back to 1.1.4 for the time being! I use a
dark GTK+ and Qt color scheme. For me, OO always defaults to showing the page
as
dark blue instead of white, which I suppose is understandable when you consider
people who use dark color schemes for accessibility reasons. I can manually set
the page to white so that's okay. In 1.1.4, this is fine but in 2.0 Beta, any
frames (both old ones from a 1.1.4 document and newly created ones) have a dark
blue background, which obviously looks terrible! I agree they should have 100%
transparency, or at the very least, should use the same color as the page
itself. Note that in my case, this is purely to do with how the frame is
*displayed* on the screen in edit mode. When doing Page Preview, it looks
normal. I'm not sure if that was the case for these other people.

I made a png image from a svg file. I imported the png image in a OOo
presentation (odp), changed the background color of the image (to white, it was
trasparent) and then tryed to export it in pdf.

The application says Main memory shortage even if there are more than 256 Mb
of memory available, and that the whole presentation file is a few kb big.

A spreadsheet that has been built with MS Excel XP with the following formula:
=IF(INDEX(DATEN!$D$6:DATEN!$R$154,$B11,$A11)0,INDEX(DATEN!$D$6:DATEN!$R$154,$B11,$A11),)

This xls-file, after opened with OOo 1.9.95 translates the formula to the
following:
=IF(INDEX($DATEN.$D$6:$DATEN.$R$154;$B11;$A11)0;INDEX($DATEN.$D$6:$DATEN.$R$154;$B11;$A11);)
which results in an error message.

After replacing $DATEN with DATEN the error message disappears. So I believe
there is a mistake in the way the xls-file is opened.

Put the beginning of system of axes to the lower left corner. Drag from top snap
line to the top of page. Right-click mouse, select 'Edit Snap Line Position
Y will be '-14,85cm', if page format A4, scale 1:1. Using ohter page formats or
scale result other ratings.

Also there is not pasibility to invert direction of axes. (this could be other
bug/todo)

Could I get write access at least for the project external (where libwpd is)
and sw (where is writerperfect). The later could be OK, because I did not need
to commit anything to writerperfect in my recent CWS.
BTW: It could be good if I could write also into some other modules that concern
WP importer. Naturally, I am not intending to modify anything that I am not sure
about and principally I intend to work on fixing the issues for wp component.

hi schult,
which OOo version do you use (i assume it is not 1.0.3 as indicated by the
version field.. ;-)

PS: OOo also can export PDF by itself, but i understand well if people do not
use it frequntly due to personal workflow habits..

I would like an 'IP Address' number format. This can be stored internally as a
regular number (as I believe dates are) but displayed and entered as an ip
address (10.1.1.45)

Here is some sample C++ that does the conversions

#include iostream
#include string
using namespace std;

int main()
{

   unsigned long number = 0;
   int tmp = 0, dots = 0;
   string ip;

/*  Parse IP Address
 *  Algorithm summary:
 *
 * Browse over each character in the input.
 * Build a number until a dot is encountered or the number goes out of range.
 * Repeat until end of string
 * If an invalid character is found, bail out.
 */
   cin  ip;
   for (int i = 0, j = ip.length(); i  j; i++)
   {
//  cout  i  :   ip[i]  endl;
  if (ip[i] = '0'  ip[i] = '9')
  {
 tmp = tmp * 10 + (ip[i] - '0');
 if (tmp  255)
 {
cout  parse error: value out of range\n;
return 3;
 }
// cout  tmp:   tmp  endl;
 continue;
  }
  if (ip[i] == '.')
  {
 number *= 256;
 number += tmp;
 tmp = 0;
 dots++;
// cout  number;   number  endl;
 continue;
  }
  cout  parse error on character   i  \n;
  return 1;
   }
   if (dots != 3)
   {
  cout  parse error: incorrect format\n;
  return 2;
   }
   number *= 256;
   number += tmp;
   tmp = 0;
   cout  number  endl;

/*  Format IP Address
 *  Algorithm summary:
 *
 * Extract each portion of the number and display.
 *
 * I think there may be a better way to do this by shifting bits then mod 256
 */
//   cin  number;
   tmp = (number - (number % 16777216)) / 16777216;
   cout  tmp  .;
   number %= 16777216;
   tmp = (number - (number % 65536)) / 65536;
   cout  tmp  .;
   number %= 65536;
   tmp = (number - (number % 256)) / 256;
   cout  tmp  .;
   number %= 256;
   cout  number  endl;

   return 0;
}

I'm not sure if this is closely related enough to this issue or not. Should I
file a new issue specific to ip addresses?

Interesting experience. I have recently upgraded to m97 and see that it too uses
excessive cpu. From the comment above about ntpd, I diabled this daemon then ran
m97. The attached strace.m97 shows that soffice.bin is looping on
gettimeofday(). I hope that this trace will enable someone to find out why this
occurs as compared to m94 which idled at about 3%.

when running m97 on SuSE 9.3 i can confirm the 'getoftime'-flooding. i doesn't
slow down my system, but makes me still wonder what this continuous calls might
be good for.

grsingleton, i will download an m94 next week and recheck. if this build does
not gettimeofday-flood, there would have been a code chance from 94 to 95, if it
shows the same behaviour as m97 we would have to investigate further concering
your = FC 3 setup.

There is a big difference between Visio symbols (computers, servers, etc.) and
the final result in OOo 1.9.95m. the link here shows the problem better than
words :)
If I cut/paste in draw, computer freeze for a long time (10 to 15 seconds) but
nothing appears.
When importing emf file and ungroup symbol, it seems that OOo use boxes with
90 angle while Visio and other application use rhombus (boxes with not egal
angles X/Y).

Because Visio is very powerfull in diagrams and because I'm writing a 100
page's document, it's very important for me ;)

Thanks
David

Hi,

see

http://udk.openoffice.org/python/scriptingframework/index.html

, these are missing features, but not bugs.

So, I change it to enhancement, remove the target milestone (as I currently
don't have concrete plans to change this).

Bye,

I've no idea about the X.org's registry.
But TIS-620 is an official industrial standard in Thailand.
Also registered with IANA
http://www.iana.org/assignments/character-sets

Solaris (and its CDE) do has TIS-620 since version 7.

I have Visio documents that I want to edit in OO0 Draw. I cannot do it. It
comes back with a General Input/Output Error. Can this capability be added to

I've unfortunately found a Gentoo box on our network that *doesn't* have this
problem, so it looks like it might be an obscure one.

How to I recover crash data from a crash if the automatic reporting thing
doesn't realise there's been a crash?

PRELIMINARIES ONLY, BUT IMPORTANT
Although I have been using OOo (and formerly SO5.2) for over 3 years I still
have to stick to the Windows doc format because I work with a huge number of
short documents received from here and there and partly created by myself and I
share documents with several others who use MS or QuarkXpress or InDesign,
neither of which (or at least the versions in use) understands the OOo formats.

THE PROBLEM
I try to use my own template as much as I can but my files still get fat with an
enormous number of custom styles which probably come from external sources.
Among them such beauties like WW-AbsatzStandardSchriftart etc. Often these
terrible things intervene into my actually used styles and then ruin is added to
chaos.
Each and every of them has a name which starts with WW (i.e. 2 capital Ws).
Hints of WinWord?
I can delete these styles one by one but, unfortunately, loading my own ones
does not delete them.
However, when I delete the unwanted styles, save the document again in doc
format and then I reopen it - the deleted styles reappear again.

CONCLUSION
Which means that something is still preserved deep in the stomach of OOo and it
is reinjected into the file upon save is the saving format is doc. It does not
happen if it is rtf or sxw.
This holds true of OOo1.1.4 and OOo2 (1.9.95) on a Windows XP Home system.

SUGGESTION
Please check with the document attached.
Open it on a machine with a Windows operating system, delete the WW- and Absatz
styles by hand and save the document in its own format (doc). Then reopen it,
please, and check what styles you have.
Paragraph styles, character styles, numbering styles.
Unfortunately there is no option to attach the document.
I will try to submit this and reopen perhaps then I see a possibility to attach
a doc. If you will not find it (file name: B-0501-BKV-hajozas.doc) please send
me a note how to attach.
Thanks.

Fixed in CWS presfixes06. The crucial point was to avoid output preparation
within a backbuffer, it at all possible. Most fixes here go in concert with
issue 45877.

Yes, please describe bugs exactly according to the UI terminology:
- a heading (also called, chapter or title style) is not a header (the
repeated top of a printed page)
- put a line may be interpreted as type Return in the header, add a bottom
border to the header or insert a Draw line between header and body.

If you use an non English version of OOo and want to report issues you may think
about installing an English version too. ;)

To make it short: add such a document (maybe one or two steps before it crashes
;) ) it will help us reproducing the problem.

I have two fields in the footer (date and time). They will not update either on
open or close of the document (the preference is set), nor will the update with
F9 or with Tools | Update | All or Tools | Update | Fields. Whatever value they
are when inserted is the value they keep.

crashrep.exe keeps crashing on me no matter what I click. When I turn on my
computer, sometimes it just pops up and asks if I want to recover some files
that I had been recently using. It really does not matter what I click,
whether I try ro send a report or cancel, it simply crashes just before it
exits. It's a pretty bad crash usually a 'chain reaction crash'. OpenOffice
crash reporting crashes, which brings up Windows crash reporting, which then
crashes, and the Windows error report for the error report crash crashes too.
And the strange thing is that OpenOffice never crashed in the first place,
crashrep just pops up when I turn on my computer sometimes, and asks me which
files to recover... strange ... very strange

Did I post this in the right place or should I start a new issue for this ? I
have screenshots of this happening if you want me to post them...?
