[www-issues] Re: [Issue 71472] Graphical Marketing Materials (Posters / Flyers)
Benhard, Hello and thanks for the comments. I'll add the .org to the name right away as well as the www. My idea behind not putting much info was the hope of creating a feeling of simplicity and assuming people would associate OpenOffice.org with MS Office. I may be assuming too much. You bring out a good point. I'll try and come up with some good, clear explanations of why its free and what its purpose is. I like the idea of small text too. Just a few short remarks: - The program's name is the same as our community: OpenOffice.org So please add the .org part to the posters. - What do you think of adding http://www.; the the subtitle to make it clear that this is the way to get the product? - I really like the minimalistic design of your posters (they look great IMHO), but people not that common with OpenOffice.org are left with unanswered questions (Why there is no budget problem?, Is free meant here politically or monetary?). This is a good marketing strategy if you have the possibilty to answer these questions afterwards. With posters this might be different: People not getting these informations are probably lost. Therefore I think that adding a explanatory paragraph to the posters might be a good idea - especially if it's written in such a small font, that the visitors need to step forward in order to read it (even more curiosity). What do you think? - Could you please tell us the size and resolution of the printable versions of your posters? Perhaps it would be possible to have a vector based version (like PDF or EPS in CMYK) for professional printing facilities. - Finally: To present your posters in the poster gallery (http://marketing.openoffice.org/art/galleries/marketing/posters) they have to be licensed under one of the licenses described here: http://marketing.openoffice.org/art/about-legal.html Please have a look and comment here, which license should be used. [www-issues] Re: [Issue 54195] Compare Document does not compare only differences
Try it in WordPerfect. That is the true standard for Document Compare, not Word. WordPerfect has the option of comparing by paragraph or word too. It gives you the real control you want. -Eric ___ Eric Schetselaar Editor-In-Chief Novell Connection Magazine ( 801-861-3443 7 801-861-6711 [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] 11/12/2006 3:10 AM To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue:http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=54195--- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 12 02:10:48 -0800 2006 ---In fairness I should add that I just tried comparing 2 documents with few differences, but one significant change is that 2 paragraphs on the first page have changed order, and each of them had one word changed. That was not a problem for OOo 1.1.5, although both whole paragraphs were marked as both deleted and inserted, but MS-Word 2000 marked almost the whole document as both deleted and inserted!-Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification fromIssue Tracker.
