Duplicating the same slide or even inserting the same picture on different slides does not expose memory leak - apparently Impress recognises the image as the same and just reuses it. Also please make sure that memory is leaking, that is if you repeatedly save the shorter presentation several times without closing it you get all RAM consumed. Wrt. detecting gtk+ - the approach sounds fine - elsewhere we hook
g_object_get_class ("GdkDisplay") to see if gtk+ is initialized too - worth
doing that I guess.
A load of distros still use gtk 2.8.x (at least SLED does), so clearly leaving
the old code to write the obsolete file in is best.

my apologies for not getting back to you sooner.
well things have gone rapidly downhill. i have been unable to create new
tables. i keep getting the error:
column size is required in statement [CREATE TABLE "Table1"("ID" VARCHAR]
i tried using 'create table in design view' and 'use wizard to create table'. i
also removed and re-installed openoffice. when i attempt to start 'base',
nothing shows up initially. if i start 'base' again it lists my database and
asks if i want to 'recover' it. i have no idea why any of this is happening.
please tell me what additional info you need and i will send it as soon as
possible.

It describes a set of elements and attributes designed for supporting internationaliation and localization features. See: http://www.w3.org/TR/its/ Is there a possibility to have ITS integrated into OpenOffice? OO being a content authoring tools, the implementation would be quite simple: Basically it would be a matter of allowing the ITS markup to be set and preserved in the OO files. (See "Conformance Type 1: ITS Markup Declarations" http://www.w3.org/TR/its/#conformance-product-schema) Example of implementation: A selection of words set with would flag the selection as non translatable. ITS is modular and allow a pick-and-choose appraoch where OO could implement only some of the ITS data categories.
