Reopening.

Not fixed. Still the same issue. The problem is the link stage, not compile
stage.

Dear Sir or Madam

After some time of not using it, i installed OO, but this time in an office of
10 people where we must work together and everyone must be able to open,
properly view and print other peoples work.

So, i started editing a document i created in Excel. All looks fine, margins...
Footers do look different but editing them is no trouble.
Than, after i did half of the job, i switch to sheet that consist of only one
page, it is always just that one page, and everything always fits on it.
But in OO it stretches to one more.

I check margins, printer settings, page format, scale, everything looks OK. Save
document (with Save), and open it in Excel. Disaster. Everything is messed up.
Regarding looks, formulas are OK.
It looks like OO A4 page is smaller than Excel A4 page. What in Excel fits on
one page in OO goes over one and a half.

Even worse, footers are completely messed up, and fixing them in Excel is pain
in the

Is there a way to solve these problem so i can use OO - with others that use
Excel beaning able to open my documents without having to change it completely
before using it.

Here is the file in Excel, the same one fixed and saved by OO, and screenshoots
of what is going on on my computer.

http://www.box.net/shared/3o9k4n68s8

I'm hooked to it, again, after using it for just couple of hours. Would be
really sad if i had to give it up Sad

Thanks in advance!

Could this issue be targeted to 3.0?
OOo shows completely incorrect behavior from users' point of view. And this may
lead to miscalculations or wrong assumptions (especially if Calc is being used
for financial calculations).

The problem is that safety reasons are good reasons. :-)
If we removed that code we could get problems in synchronous paint events
following the RemoveFld call. Currently there are no problems known (the one
that had let me add this code was fixed) but as we know it's not improbable that
slight code changes anywhere in Writer can bring up the problem again.

Meanwhile we added error handling to BorderOverPageBorder so I think we can
perhaps indeed remove the code.

There seems to be some confusion about the Currency elements. Currently the
BankSymbol (as well as the CurrencyID, which isn't the case yet everywhere, I'm
about to change that) have to be the ISO 4217 code and have to be unique within
a locale data file. There are two Currency elements with BankSymbol MMK, that
doesn't work. A decision has to be made which one to use, and it should reflect
the officially used CurrencySymbol, which according to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyat is 'K', not 'Ks'.

Regarding the ICU patch: I don't want to integrate that. Actually we want to get
rid of all patches applied to ICU, see
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/ICU/bugs_and_patches, and for OOo3.0 we
hope to be able to upgrade to ICU 4.0 anyway. That should have the changes,
will it?

Btw, patches to external projects that have their own patch file like
icu-3.6.patch should not be submitted as patches to the patch file, these likely
will not apply in another revision as the regenerated patch file may be
different, not that much of a problem in this case here as the patch almost only
adds new files to the patch file. Such patches should be created as diffs
against the unpacked and patched source as present after build in
outputdir/misc/build/... instead.

Thanks
  Eike

Every time I open the document, when sorting, I have to specify anew that the
first line is the title line.
It also means, that I can't use the button in the tools, but always have to
sort via the menu-option.

I think it should be automatically saved with the document, in order to save
time and effort.

Yes, and it still occurs with OO2.3.1 on Debian Lenny with xserver.xorg 1.3
(1:7.2-5) the lastest testing xerver.

Check out the attachment

What I have is a symbol made using a group of polylines. Editing, or during
presentation with HW acc. turned off, displays just fine.

During presentation with HW acc. turned on the whole symbol fill black.

Converting the symbol to curves does not help, converting to bitmap turns the
symbol into black filled permanently.

Found the problem on 2 separate debian lenny systems 1, with modern intel
graphics controller, other on very old ati.

Seems to be reproducible and persistent across OO versions.

My guess: the problem is in Impress.

On another account (this time a non-admin) account, it just runs fine on the

the registry settings, but it does not help. On my account, OOo does not run.
What could it be?

I very much agree with this. All spreadsheets that I have used in the past
(Quattro Pro, Lotus, Excel) have as the default format a general format which
behaves as proposed above, and switches to scientific notation when necessary.

Today I tried to use OOo for a calculation, and it gave me 0. I didn't believe
it, and by changing the format I discovered that it was something like 0.1.
I consider this to be very bad.

It turns out that the issue is not fixed - with Russian localle and Moscow time
zone Calc autodecrements date 01.07.1919 and earlier. Dates after 01.07.1919
are fine.

SRC680_m246: module lpsolve

the build fails for GNU/Linux SPARC because file ccc contains -fpic compiler
option, where -fPIC is needed. This happens because the module ignores the
PICSWITCH which is set in solenv/inc/unxlngs.pro

A possible solution is to patch a new ccc file similar as for ccc.osx

A further complication is the file so_built_lpsolve was created too soon by this
command:

cd ./unxlngs.pro/misc/build/lp_solve_5.5/lpsolve55 sh ccc touch
/home/jim/vanilla/lpsolve/./unxlngs.pro/misc/build/so_built_lpsolve

I really can't put up with not being able to use OpenType fonts in OOo on Linux
much more. It's especially annoying considering that Linux has fully supported
OpenType longer than Windows. It is not cross-platform if somebody with OOo on
Windows or MacOS sends a file to somebody with Linux and the file is a mess
because the Linux user's version of OOo cannot see the fonts used by the Windows
or MacOS user.

I have a Word 97 document with a border (rounded rectangle made from Word Art
lines and arcs) outside the margins. When imported into Writer, all corners
except the top left are displaced. I can move the corners to their correct
positions. If I save the document from Writer (with or without editing in
Writer) and open it in Word 97, the whole border is displaced down and to the
right - possibly by twice the border to margin distance. This may be similar to
issues 6455 and 19922. This issue may relate to the open-import and save-export
subcomponents (2 issues?).

This issue has come up before in issue 84901, but I believe that it was not
completely resolved. I have still problems with missing special characters
(accents, quotes, etc.) in my PDFs. However, the problem now seems to be related
to the type of font in use - specifically Adobe PostScript. Exported PDFs using
PostScript fonts still seem to present with this error, but other types of font
do not seem to cause this to happen.
