And the problem, let's say you wrote something like this: Here is the eq. x^2| you asked for. where x^2 is math object, | denotes cursor so the user is in text mode. Press left-arrow key. Here is the eq. |x^2 you asked for. Press right-arrow key. Here is the eq. x^2| you asked for. so you are back, OOW jumps over the object. If you want to modify it you have to use mouse. This a bad UI! And in reverse, if you click at the object you cannot move left, right, up, but you have to quit it by pressing escape. One keypress lost. Now think of all people who are handicapped or have even mild disabilities (RSI) and you realize that every keystroke counts. Another reason is working with one device constantly is more fluent and current behaviour actually slows down the user with the work. Please, fix this problem -- thank you in advance. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It doesn't take much space comapred to other resources, and it is an absolutely must-have feature for any text processor. In my opinion, not having an out-of-the-box spellchecker automatically makes OOo second-best compared to MS Word for most users. I guess it's not hard to find an how-to and add a dictionary to OOo (never tried it myself), but the majority of users can't even get to the googling openoffice russian dictionary stage. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The license is not standard but IMHO is suitable for external components... We talk about free software. IMHO license can be easy changed for important feature of OO by simple request. To pjanik: 3.0 will have the functionality to provide dictionaries as extensions. I think we plan already to *remove* dictionaries from the instsets and move them to extensions... (sorry for my bad English) So, the most users will download instset, try spellchecking, surprizing that it does not work, go back to openoffice site, download and install dictionaries, think and say to other people that MS Office is better. Or go back to MS products without trying to solve the problem, as previos commentators sayed. This situation is not hypothesis. I had try to give OO to windows users and it was what they really did/sayed. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. на этой странице найти строчку lingucomponent 86034 OO.o does not have a russian dictionary and it is not able to check spelling in russian и поставить цифру 2 (максимальное количество голосов, которое можно отдать в этой категории) в поле напротив. 4.) However (probably not relevant but interesting) Excel (97) has very similar odd behaviour with logical values (it includes TRUE only if there is another 1 in the numberlist). This is a problem when making large posters or signs or anything that exceeds about 3' in height. This limitation is entirely artificial. If this is a user interface issue (keep people from getting lost in their document) than the outer zoom limit could be set to some multiple of the page size, or be a configurable option, and the inner zoom limit could also be a configurable option. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. When i try to open them, windows prompts me to select which application I would like to open it with, and when i select open office, it sometimes opens. Sometimes it takes a long time, and sometimes it never opens. It will open files saved with the default extension (.wcu??? i think it is??? i can't open it right now to find out...) I'm going to try reinstalling.. I can't open the app to run updates or anything. Restart sometimes fixes. this problem only started within the past two weeks or so and I have used open office since my last format in January have been using open office for a long time. love it! keep it up! - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Practitioners from multiple medical areas can enter patient information into the unprotected empty cells. Different practitioners from multiple practices can enter data for the same patient. We need to ensure a practitioner does not accidentally delete information that was previously entered by another practitioner. This enhancement will provide excellent control over patienbt information and prevent us from creating and maintaining a database system. Practitioners can View patient history and Append to it without the risk of removing or updating previously entered patient information.
