I did answer all your questions. 1. I don't need to do anything to 'define the connection' I select MySQL jdbc connection from the list of available options. The database is registered via the Open Office options as 'aircraft_log_database' You can use the mysql username root, or any other username that you give permissions to the MySQL databases. 2. Each and any of the forms suffer the same issues, as soon as a macro has been run, certainly if navigating between forms. 3. The 'Start button is on the 0_Startup form yes, have you actually opened this odb file? 4. Once the New form has opened, which file? not a new file, simply a new form, which if ths odb had been tested you would see. 5. Again each and any form, not form specific. 6. The basic program, whic I assume to be a macro, is run, once the button on the form is clicked. 7. I think this is just semantics, in the same way that most peaple would view OOCalc as an application, or Firefox as an application, I'm referring to OOBase as an application, perhaps I should have said, the OOBase component of the OpenOffice application. Please actually test this, as I have said, I have tried this on a variety of operating systems, and each time yields the same result. The issues are very easy to replicate. For comparison, try the same odb file in a OpenOffice 2.4 installation, and here you will see how it should be working, and it works successfully on a variety of operating systems. Until this is resolved, I cannot move to OO3, and at this rate I'm gooing to have to seriously consider running any database front ends in Microsoft Access, in a virtual machine, which is not what I wanted to do, as I was in the process of re-writing my MS Access front ends into OpenOffice Base 2.4, but if all this work is rendered useless in OpenOffice 3 then I might have to revert to using MS Access, and look for alternatives to OO. I have been using OpenOffice, even before the 1.0 release, and I am a big fan, and really push it to people I know and deal with, and I really want it to continue from strength to strength. This option is really only useful when running a native imported document. a) Once a document has been saved as ods key transient information is lost e.g. codenames and other such data. ( I am thinking about supporting this, but... future work ) b) in an ods document vba-mode basic could call non-vba mode code libraries etc. mixing openoffice basic, vba-mode basic and non-mso document is NOT a good idea :-( sorry about that 2. A few things: a) So if we have styles in our outline that are not "standard" we really need to use \o 1-Y where Y is the last "standard" outline style from msword's perspective in the ones that we would include. Then we add in the remaining outline styles as extra styles b) Our "evaluate" level cuts out styles used in the additional styles that might happen to also an outline level above that evaluate level. Word wouldn't do that as the \o is a different concept, so we need to cut those out on export c) On import because our "evaluate" level is a different thing from \o we can definitely use it as the best fit for importing it as it normally is the right thing to do, but if we see that additional styles are used to fill a level above the \o cut-off point, then we need to increase up to that level. I have added the following toolbars at the top of the screen: Drawing, Zoom, Text formatting, Alignment (of objects). When I enter a box of text the Drawing toolbar is removed and the Text formatting one is shown, when I click on the screen and finish editing the text the Text formatting toolbar disappears moving the other toolbars around. Same thing appens when I draw a line, the drawing toolbar is shown just to be removed after I click out of the drawn object. It seems that these two toolbars are "moving items" that will do what they want. I cannot think of it as being a way to save screen real estate since the screen used is always the same. This is a really really anoying behaviour that cannot be removed even after locking the toolbars. Also the toolbars need to be locked one by one which is a pain: ever heard of locking the all at once when you find the right combination of them? I would expect the toFront() call to send the window to the front whenever it is called. When calling XTopWindow.toFront, the API code calls Window::ToTop[0] which calls Window::ImplStartToTop[1] which in turn calls Window::ImplToTop[2]. Window::ImplToTop includes the following check: if ( !mpWindowImpl->mpFrameData->mbHasFocus && !mpWindowImpl->mpFrameData->mbSysObjFocus && !mpWindowImpl->mpFrameData->mbInSysObjFocusHdl && !mpWindowImpl->mpFrameData->mbInSysObjToTopHdl ) If this check is false, then the call is just ignored. Commenting out the first line of this check causes the issue to go away (and is what we've had to do, as we need this API call to work). There should probably be something like a TOTOP_IREALLYMEANIT flag (or perhaps TOTOP_IGNOREFOCUS would be more appropriate) which the API call could pass through which would bypass the above check.
